When Shen Ru didn't speak, Qin Nuo lifted her chin and called for the people outside. "Guards."
"My Lady," two soldiers said as they entered.
A sudden unease washed over Shen Ru as she stared at Qin Nuo's expression.
Then, she heard Qin Nuo speak again. "We've found a spy from the Snow Country. Lock her up, and investigate all the Beastmen she's had close contact with."
Shen Ru's heart sank to the pit of her stomach. "Do you know who I am?"
"I am a strategist from the Southern Country. My family has served the Royal Family for generations..."
Qin Nuo cut her off. "Forget it. Just send her to the Water Prison. I bet she's full of secrets about colluding with the Snow Country. Dig them all out of her, by any means necessary!"
"Yes, ma'am!" The soldiers nodded and dragged Shen Ru away, a hint of excitement in their eyes.
Everyone knew what it meant to lock a female in the Water Prison and interrogate her 'by any means necessary'.
