The last sea beast had fallen. Regan relished in his new points and the numbers they'd add to his stats. He seemed to have almost forgotten about Rose because of his indulgence, but Izgrim's dejection would often remind him of the unfortunate girl.
Still, his alacrity knew no bounds, he was growing stronger much quicker than he would've in the woods or when fighting against Tina. The only issue was that his haki stats were lacking, and the sea farming method mainly prioritized his main stats.
Doesn't matter. Haki flourishes in battle, right? I'll just fight against Morgan
He was soaked in blood, courtesy of a deep gash he had made on the last sea kings neck, a gash that rained down blood like a torrential downpour.

The remaining three were warrior ranked sea kings. Hopefully more of their kind come.
Regan had his blade beside him, his legs crossed, waiting eagerly for another sea king to come. Earlier, Clam had complained about waiting out at sea, and was worrisome about the marines that were sure to come.
They were sure to come, Regan knew. But they would change course, for the number of sea kings that were sure to sprout up in the area would alarm many of them and change their navigation. That is what Regan hoped for at least.
Clam had also questioned the point in him slaying so many sea beasts. Regan given him a vague shrug and merely muttered the words 'strength' and 'growth' without explaining anything further.
Izgrim had not said a single word, but Regan could often feel his eyes boring into him. Though Regan often found it hard for any words to pass through his lips in his presence, he did loosen sweetened words of murder, vengeance, and piracy through his ear.
Often is it the case that grief and anger can soak up such words and compel the tractable man to partake in the most dire and reckless actions. Regan hoped that this would lead to Izgrim joining his crew alongside Morgan. Though the boy was weak, it wouldn't be hard to begin training him once they returned to their home island.
They would return once Regan fulfilled his own training first.

The system had deposited 2000 points into his sword stat, which meant that he had 2500 left over when he advanced to the next rank. Which he would, Regan grinned, his ears twitching to the sound of approaching sea beasts who sprouted up from the sea to inspect the ships and the mangled bodies on their decks.
Two more sea kings bloomed from the sea, their fangs bared and their blood-red eyes donning a hard sheen of hunger and malice. He jumped off of the ship, his fist coated in haki, and punched them all repeatedly, the system's voice then sounding like sweet honey through his ears as it told him of his merits.

After that, Regan had gained 400 essence in total. He hopped off of their bodies, his sigh letting out a breath that curled up into the cold air.
Dammit. They were all a lower rank than me! System, deposit the melee points.

After returning to the merchants ship, shaking blood off his sword, he inspected his inventory. The number of items in said inventory had peeled back his eyes with utter shock.
Holy shit!
[Dedmond Dantes Inventory]
Holy Grail(s): 67x
Persona Shard(s): 89x
Rainbow Shard(s): 98x
Killing sea kings garnered more items than killing humans did. Regan also recalled the pity system that Tina had mentioned, which he hoped would allow him to obtain the race that he wanted and not some other strong race that he did not care to change into.
He had his eyes set on one race in particular. The lunarian race. One of the most powerful races in the One Piece universe. If he acquired that race, on top of his stats and his haki, he would be unstoppable. Or so he hoped. He didn't yet know how he would fare against the other transmigraters, but his farming method gave him a lick of hope.
I wonder why Morgan didn't tell me about the inventory. Does he even use it?
Regan pushed these thoughts aside and went back to waiting for more sea beasts. He didn't want the ship to set course and return back home yet, not until he achieved one more rank.
After a night of slaying sea kings and letting Clam and Izgrim wallow in their sadness, Regan finally returned below deck, satisfied and eager to return home to meet back up with Morgan. The night was silent and still as a corpse, and the moon was brighter than Rose's eyes had been the day he had first met her.
Regan hoped that she had been taken to another world as he had been taken to hers. Death is a cruel thing. A world of eternal nothingness is not a world.
In his world, Regan overhead that a dead man should be content with his fate, but many are not content with the world. Though those that are, even with all their misery, all their pain—many of them still wish to see the sun sink once more into the belly of the horizon, the moon—the moon! Many want to greet the grey woman who has known them since their infancy, glowing and dimming as if it has known their best days and their worst.
The rain on their skin, the graceful singing of their mother, the warm hands of their father, and the irritating voices of their siblings. It is not selfish to have lived life to the fullest and still want more! An old man on his deathbed is likely wishing the same thing despite the years under his belt.
We like to believe that we will welcome death with open arms, but when it calls, and when its incorporeal hands wrap around us, we all try our best to desperately wriggle away in order to cling to life and our selfish desire to remain in its light.
And now this world had intensified his selfish desire. He had every intention to thrive in it to the fullest. Another idea had formed in Regan's head. When his journey ends, when he finally meets up with Luffy and the strawhats in the new world, where they will defeat Imu and the Gorosei, Regan decided that he would build a nation of his own.
He would be its eternal ruler. Perhaps he would rule alongside a partner, a lover, and oversee every event that was sure to occur in the future timeline. Regan now simply wanted to live forever. Like the holy knights on mariejois. The world was much too beautiful to depart from it. He would never welcome death ever again. If it came for him, he had every mind to hack it apart with his cutlass.
''Death is cruel.'' Regan said, bringing up his stats.

Regan order Clam to return back home. He still had many plans in mind for when he met up with Morgan. His time on the island would span two years. Two entire years of haki training and sea king farming. And afterwards, once he was satisfied with his stats, he would return to Rakers island to retrieve the ship he and Clam had paid for the construction of.
The transmigraters and the rest of the world would soon know of his existence.
