The water was too hot.
I had drawn it without thinking, muscle memory guiding my hands through the motions while my mind stayed trapped in that study. Steam curled up from the pool, filling the small chamber with a hazy warmth that clung to my skin and made the air heavy.
I didn't adjust the temperature. I needed it to burn.
The torn dress slid from my shoulders and pooled at my feet. I stepped out of it, leaving the ruined fabric where it fell. The warm air kissed my bare skin, and my nipples tightened painfully at the sudden shift in temperature.
They were still sensitive. Still tender from his mouth.
I looked down at my body and immediately wished I hadn't.
Faint marks bloomed across my breasts. The memory of his tongue. The place where he had bitten down on my nipple and drawn that sharp, startled cry from me.
