Tempest doesn't remember the last time that she was in awe like this.
Maybe the first time she realized that there were truly aliens in the universe. Or maybe when she saw the strength Dron had in his alpha state.
Still she didn't think just being able to walk around the human settlement would do the same things to her. She was truly in a state of wonder.
Everywhere she looked there was something familiar.
Not exactly familiar, but close enough that it did something strange to her heart.
There were houses built out of the same strange stone she'd seen down in the bunker that she'd be kept in but they didn't look like any of the buildings she'd come across in Thraqe. Someone had painted one of the doors blue. Not the glowing blue that seemed to pulse through nearly everything the aliens created, but a dull, chipped navy blue that reminded Tempest of an old farmhouse she'd seen once while driving through Pennsylvania.
