Iris pulled up at the apartment.
She parked the car and held onto the steering and sighed.
She took her phone and the coffee she had bought and got out.
She walked over to the elevator and got in.
She pressed the floor number, and the elevator started moving.
The elevator stopped, walked to the door, and opened it.
She walked in.
"My back with your cof—"
She looked shocked seeing Catherine wearing the same hoodie Damien was wearing.
"Oh, you're back." Catherine smiled.
"And you brought the coffee." She added.
"I put your clothes in the washer already." Damien said from down the hallway.
Iris and Catherine looked down the hallway.
Damien walked into the living room with a black singlet on his hand.
He looked at Iris.
"Oh, you're back."
"Yeah.... yeah, I am, and it seems like a look happened."
"It not what you—"
"Oh no, iris, it's so not what you think. I accidentally split water on my shirt.... then Damien offered to help me dry it, so he gave me his hoodie."
The timer of the washer went off.
"Let me get that for you." Damien said as he walked down the hallway to the laundry room.
"Hm... I just gonna do freshen up."
Iris dropped their coffee on the table.
"Here's your coffee."
"Thank you." Catherine smiled.
Iris walked over to her room and went her room and closed the door.
She sat on her bed.
"Don't think about it, Iris, don't think about it." She muttered to herself.
She stood up and went into the bathroom to take a bath.
A few minutes later, she was out of the bathroom, just on her bed with her phone.
She heard a knock on her door.
"Come in."
Damien came in, and then she looked up.
"Hey." He said.
"Hey." She replied.
"Hm... so Catherine's gone."
"Oh really, it's nine pm, I just thought she would love to stay."
He stared at her.
She looked back.
"I didn't mean it, that why.... I just thought you said we have to be a couple."
"Act a couple."
"Fine, whatever, but doing that is hard knowing that your assistant wants you so bad." She rolled her eyes.
"I dont think my personal life is any of your business."
She stood up and walked toward him.
"I know that.... but I just.... I just thought we were already having something like building it up."
"I really hope you remember this is for two years."
"Oh my gosh... I know... I was there, stop reminding me."
"Is this because of lunch?"
"Oh my gosh." She murmured.
"This isn't a movie. It's an arranged marriage, no feeling attached. This... this isn't a situation where we say no feelings, and we get feelings."
She scoffed.
"We did this... for a goal, and it just for two years. I can't ever fall in love with you. It's not possible." He added.
She chuckled.
"Get out."
"What?"
"Get out of my room!"
She pushed him out and locked the door.
He sighed.
"Whatever you want."
Iris walked over to bed and screamed into a pillow.
She calmed down and took her phone. She was about to call Sienna, and then she stopped and decided to just sleep on it.
The next morning, Iris woke up tired and weak. She went into the bathroom.
A few minutes later, she came out and got dressed in a black hoodie and shorts while her hair was packed in a bun.
She went downstairs to the kitchen and saw Adrian on the couch dressed it a black shirt and cream trousers paired with well polished black shoes.
She stopped when Damien dressed in a black top, and ash joggers came from the kitchen with two glasses of scotch and gave Adrian one.
"Thanks." Adrian took a sip.
Damien took a seat beside him.
"So where's Iris?"
"Hm.. she's probably still asleep."
"What did you do?"
"What do you mean? Why do you think I did something?"
"It's obvious, I can see it in you."
"She's.... probably angry."
"What did you do this time?"
"I did nothing wrong. She was getting involved in my life and all."
"And?"
"And for some reason, she got angry when I said I can never fall in love with her."
Adrian laughed.
"What's funny?" Damien asked.
"Bro, whether you like it or not, she's your legal wife even if it's only for two years."
Damien stared.
"Yeah, thanks for the advice." Damien said sarcastically.
Damien looked upstairs and saw Iris.
She stared back at him.
"And she just heard all of that." Damien looked at Adrian.
Adrian looked upstairs and saw her.
She started to walk downstairs. When she got downstairs, she ignored them and went to the kitchen to get a bottle of water.
Adrian stared at her.
"Hi Iris. What's up?"
She turned to him and smiled.
"Hey."
"Are you okay? You kinda look pale."
"Oh, Im alright. Im just having a headache."
"It doesn't look like just headache." Damien said as he took a sip of the drink.
She glared at him, then looked at Adrian.
"Im fine Adrian, thanks for asking." She smiled.
"I think you should get that checked." Damien looked.
She stared at him.
"I don't remember asking what you thought, please mind yo—"
She stumbled, almost falling.
Damien got up and tried to help her stand well while holding her arms.
She pushed him off her.
"Im fine, leave me alone." She said.
He let go of her. As he turned, he heard a hit on the ground.
He turned back and saw Iris lying on the floor.
Adrian rushed over their.
Damien tried to wake her up, but it did work.
He looked at Adrian.
"Call a doctor now!"
Damien picked her up and rushed her to the closest room, which was his.
He placed her on the bed as Adrian spoke to Damien's family doctor.
A few minutes later, the doctor arrived and checked her.
He gave her a shot, and in a few minutes, she woke up.
Her eyes were blurry but eventually became clear.
She saw Damien talking to the doctor and Adrian beside her.
She looked around the room but she couldn't recognise it.
It was Damien's room.
The room was spacious and elegant, decorated in shades of black, charcoal, and deep grey. A large king-sized bed sat in the center, covered with dark grey bedding and several black pillows. Behind it was a tall charcoal headboard that stretched almost to the ceiling.
Floor-to-ceiling windows covered one side of the room, giving a breathtaking view of the city lights below. Heavy black curtains framed the windows, making the room feel even more private at night.
A large dark-wood dresser stood against one wall, its surface almost completely empty except for a sleek black watch box and a few neatly arranged colognes.
Beside the bed was a simple black nightstand with a lamp, his phone, and a small stack of documents.
There was also a walk-in closet filled with perfectly organized suits, shirts, ties, shoes, and watches. Everything had its place.
Near the windows was a comfortable black leather chair beside a small table, where Damien sometimes sat to read or work when he didn't want to use his study.
The entire room was clean, quiet, and almost perfectly organized.
Very Damien.
Even his bedroom looked like it didn't tolerate chaos.
She tried to get up, and Adrian saw she was awake.
"She's awake." He said.
Damien and the doctor looked at her.
The doctor walked close to her and checked her heart rate.
"Your heart rate's normal now."
"What.... what happened?" She stuttered and placed her hand on her head.
"I need you to just relax." The doctor said.
"You had a fever, and fell became you were weak." The doctor added.
She sighed.
"But you're now fine. You just need to rest, and I prescribed some medication for you."
"Thank you." She said, seating up well.
"Thank you again, doctor."
The doctor nodded.
"Let me walk you out."
Damien and the doctor left the room.
Adrian looked at her.
"How do you feel?"
"I've felt better."
He chuckled.
"You'll be better."
A few seconds later, Sienna walked in with Damien behind her.
"Oh my gosh.... I heard what happened." She sat beside Iris.
"You look so stressed."
She hugged her.
"Im her for you, babes."
Iris chuckled.
"Thank you... but how are you here?"
"Oh, Damien called me. He said you might need someone with you."
Iris looked at him.
"Thank you." She said.
"It was nothing. Im going to get your prescription today. You just stay here and rest."
"Where will you stay?" She asked.
"I have work, so I didn't think..."
They stared at each other for a few seconds.
Then he cleared his throat.
"Hm... Adrian, we need to go."
"Now?"
"Yes, now."
"Oh.... well, I hope you feel better, Iris. See you later."
He glanced at Sienna.
"Nice to see you again, Sienna." He smiled.
"Same." She blushed.
Damien and Adrian leave the room.
Iris stared at Sienna.
"Oh my gosh..... what was that?" Iris chuckled.
"Leave me alone."
They both laughed.
"Im stay for a few days, by the way."
"Why?" Iris asked.
"Damien asked me too. He really cares."
Iris rolled her eyes.
Iris received a message on her phone.
She picked it up and saw its damien.
Damien: Would you guys like anything?"
She looked at Sienna.
"Damien asked if we wanted anything?"
"Im really hungry, but what do you want?"
"I dont know why im craving Korean food."
"So tell him you want Korean food. His going to get it."
"I dont really know."
"Come on."
"Fine."
Iris texted him back.
Iris: Hm... If we could get Korean food, if it's not stressful or anything.
Damien: I'll have some bring it over.
Iris: Thank you.
Iris dropped her phone and looked at Sienna.
"He said he would have someone bring it over."
"Awwwn, that was cute."
"Stop it." Iris chuckled.
