Chapter 73 - Chapter 73: A Hereditary Talent for Seeking Death

Shin was completely oblivious to the shifting expression on Beerus' face. He was still lost in his own world, marveling at the fact that Turles had become the God of Destruction of Time.

Turles, seeing the murderous glint in Beerus' eyes, silently offered a prayer for the Supreme Kai.

Rest in peace, kid. Amen.

Kibito, finally noticing the danger, began to poke Shin in the ribs, his face drenched in a cold sweat. He was desperately trying to signal him to shut up, but Shin paid him no mind. At that moment, Kibito felt as though the sky were falling.

Sure enough, Beerus' voice, dripping with icy sarcasm, drifted into Shin's ear. "So, you think you're pretty brave, don't you?"

Shin, distracted, answered instinctively. "Of course! I'm incredibly brave!"

The words had barely left his mouth when he realized something was wrong. Wait... who was that?

Shin's neck creaked like a rusted hinge as he turned his head. He forced a smile that looked more painful than a sob. "Lord Beerus... I was just talking nonsense. You believe me, right?"

"Believe you?! I believe you've lost your mind! You brat, do you have any idea what a Supreme Kai is supposed to be doing?! Why are you wandering around like a headless chicken?! Did no one ever teach you?!"

Shin's expression stiffened. He lowered his head, his voice turning somber. "No. Before the Grand Supreme Kai could finish our training, he was absorbed by Majin Buu."

Beerus froze. He turned his head mechanically toward Whis. "Whis, is that true?"

"Indeed, Lord Beerus. That is exactly what happened."

Beerus frowned. "Wait, did that Majin Buu fellow actually make it all the way to the Sacred World of the Kai?"

Whis shook his head. "No. The Grand Supreme Kai went out to subdue Majin Buu himself. However, because he had expended so much of his power previously to seal away Moro, he was weakened enough to be absorbed."

Beerus stared blankly. Good grief. Is this talent for seeking death hereditary?

"And who is this Moro?"

"A being who feeds on the energy of entire planets. He is currently sealed within the Galactic Prison."

"Oh. And by the way," Whis continued, pointing toward Good Buu, who was currently playing with Bulla, "that is the result of the fusion with the Grand Supreme Kai. His evil half has already been eliminated."

Beerus' face darkened even further. These Supreme Kais were literally playing with his life. If he had known, he never would have slept for so long. He felt a sudden stroke of genius for having sealed one of them away eons ago. At least he had a backup. If it weren't for that, with the way these brats sought out danger, he might have been deleted from existence while he was still dreaming.

"By the way, Lord Beerus, the Elder Kai has been unsealed."

"What?! Impossible! Who broke my seal?!"

Turles raised his hand awkwardly. "Uh, that would be me. This Supreme Kai didn't know anything and kept putting himself in danger, so I figured I'd find him a teacher. After all, I'm technically a citizen of Universe 7, right?"

Beerus fell silent. He didn't say anything, acknowledging that Turles had acted with good intentions.

He walked up to Shin, staring him down with an unfriendly glare. "Listen, you moron. Don't go wandering off into dangerous places anymore, understand? The universe is a very dangerous place!"

Beerus had originally intended to give him a good thrashing, but considering he felt slightly guilty for his own long absence, he let it slide. He gave the warning as a final parting shot.

"Whis, we're leaving!"

Whis, with two massive bags of gourmet food slung over his shoulders, tapped his scepter. He and Beerus turned into a streak of light, vanishing into the sky.

Shin stood there, blinking in confusion at the spot where they had been. "Wait... what was that? Was he worried about me? Or was that a threat?"

"It's better if you don't overthink it," Turles muttered.

In the days that followed, the warriors of Earth continued their diligent training. Peace had returned once more.

Notably, Krillin got married during this time. It wasn't to Android 18, of course—Lazuli was already happily settled in Turles' arms. Turles couldn't help but reflect on how lucky he was; Lazuli was truly a treasure.

The woman Krillin married was his unforgettable first love, Maron. In this timeline, he actually managed to make things work with her. At least he wouldn't end up naming his daughter after his ex-girlfriend like he did in the original timeline.

As for the others? Tien and Chiaotzu remained inseparable, training in the seclusion of the deep mountains.

Yamcha, the "Tea God," had officially retired from martial arts. He spent his days wandering through high-society circles, claiming he was a "lone wolf" and that marriage was simply not in his cards.

Piccolo, with Turles' guidance, successfully tapped into the Power of the Dragon God, achieving his "Orange Piccolo" form.

True to the original path of history, Goku and Vegeta used the lure of Earth's gourmet food to convince Whis to take them to Beerus' Planet for training.

Time passed day by day until, one morning, several strange visitors arrived on Earth.

Judging by their battle armor, they were clearly remnants of the Frieza Force. Their mission was simple: find the Dragon Balls and resurrect Lord Frieza. Life without their emperor had been difficult, to say the least.

"Be careful. Don't let the Saiyans on this planet spot you," the leader whispered. "They just took out Majin Buu not long ago. We find the Dragon Balls and we get out fast. Clear?"

"Crystal, sir!"

With the combined efforts of the Frieza Force and the Pilaf Gang, the Dragon Balls were gathered, and the space tyrant was successfully brought back to life.

The moment Shenron was summoned, Turles sensed the shift in energy. "Oh? It looks like our favorite stroller-riding emperor is making a comeback."

Upon his resurrection, Frieza realized the Saiyans had become exponentially stronger. He wasn't foolish enough to attack immediately. He declared he needed time to train.

He claimed that with just four months of dedicated effort, he could crush those wretched Saiyans once and for all.

Gazing out from his spaceship, Frieza hissed, "Turles... you never imagined I'd crawl my way out of Hell, did you? This time, I will kill you! I'll make you suffer every bit of the agony I endured in that pit!"

Turles, sensing the malice from afar, only smirked. Agony? Being wrapped in a cocoon while cute little angels sang songs at you?

To most, that sounded like a weird version of heaven, but to Frieza, it was the ultimate torment.

Four months passed in the blink of an eye.

One afternoon, the warriors of Earth suddenly felt a massive, suffocatingly evil presence descend upon the planet.

"This ki... it's Frieza?! How is he alive?!"

In an instant, every fighter took to the sky, flying toward the source.

Turles followed, his lip twitching. Seriously, Frieza? You're that eager to get sent back? You only trained for four months and you're this confident?

As the group arrived at the scene, they saw a massive spaceship slowly descending through the clouds.

Then, a chilling, sinister laugh echoed from the devil sitting in the hoverchair.

"Ho-ho-ho-ho! What a magnificent reception committee..."
