Sure enough, it wasn't long before Whis and the God of Destruction, Beerus, arrived at the party.
The moment Beerus laid eyes on the vast array of gourmet dishes, his attention was completely snatched away. To him, only delicious food and a good nap were truly worth his time.
Whis, however, paused as his gaze landed on Turles. He hadn't expected to find another deity here. It was only polite to offer a greeting when visiting someone's home—especially when that "someone" was the God of Destruction of Time.
Whis walked up to Turles with a graceful smile. "Lord God of Destruction of Time, I am Whis. I serve as the attendant to Lord Beerus. Please forgive our unannounced arrival."
Turles nodded politely. "Mr. Whis, today is my wife's birthday, and the food here is top-tier. I'm certain you'll find it to your liking."
"Then I shall take you up on that, Lord Turles. Thank you."
After a courteous nod, Whis began to sample the various delicacies.
Meanwhile, Beerus, who was busy stuffing his face, suddenly froze. He had spotted a very familiar face.
Wait, isn't that the Supreme Kai? Beerus thought. Has he been eating this well the whole time I was asleep?
And why is a Supreme Kai running around like a commoner? Wandering off to Earth to hang out with a bunch of Saiyans—is he trying to get himself killed?
Besides... why does this Supreme Kai look so... dim-witted?
Looking at Shin's clueless, "big-brain" expression, the food in Beerus' hand suddenly lost a bit of its flavor.
Far away in the Sacred World of the Kai, the Elder Kai was watching the scene through his crystal ball. When he saw Beerus glaring at Shin, he knew the boy was in for it.
But Lord Beerus... if you beat him up, you won't have to beat me up, right?
My foolish descendant, you'll just have to take one for your ancestor. You're young and sturdy—you can handle a thrashing. I'm just an old man; I'd fall apart!
At the same time, on North Kai's Planet, King Kai was frantically trying to contact Goku, sweat pouring down his face.
The appearance of Beerus had triggered some very unpleasant memories for him. He had to warn Goku; he couldn't let the boy offend Beerus and bring disaster upon the Earth.
But he had forgotten one thing: when there was no disaster, Son Goku was the disaster.
In the next moment, King Kai's heart sank into his stomach.
"Hi! I'm Goku!" Goku walked right up to Beerus and gave a casual greeting.
Beerus paused and gave a polite, if somewhat disinterested, nod. "You... you're a Saiyan, aren't you? Tell me, do you know anything about the Super Saiyan God?"
"The Super Saiyan God? Yeah, I know it. It's one of our Saiyan transformations."
"Oh? You actually know it?"
The corners of Beerus' mouth curled upward. He hadn't expected to find information on the Super Saiyan God so easily—and while enjoying a gourmet feast, no less. It was enough to put a god in a fantastic mood.
"That's right. I can even transform into it," Goku said. "But Lord Beerus, King Kai told me you're a super-powerful fighter. Would you mind sparring with me for a bit?"
Beerus narrowed his eyes, sizing Goku up. "You're the Super Saiyan God?"
Goku nodded. "I can transform into him, yeah."
"Very well. I'll play along for a bit. Consider it a light workout after a meal."
Their conversation began to draw the attention of the other guests. When Vegeta saw Beerus, his pupils dilated in pure terror.
Lord Beerus?! What is the God of Destruction doing on Earth?!
Vegeta remembered him clearly. He had seen Beerus once when he was a small child and knew exactly how terrifying the deity was.
Wait... what is that idiot Kakarot doing? Has he lost his mind?!
Watching Goku and Beerus rise into the air, Vegeta's brow furrowed in a deep, anxious sweat.
Shin, the Supreme Kai, watched Beerus with a puzzled look. He couldn't shake the feeling that he had seen this man somewhere before.
Back in the Sacred World of the Kai, the Elder Kai looked like he wanted to die. I showed you portraits of Lord Beerus! You ignorant brat, how can you not recognize him?! This is an outrage!
It was a lucky thing Beerus wasn't paying attention to Shin at that moment. Otherwise, who knew what he might do? It wouldn't be the first time he'd sealed a Supreme Kai away.
Beerus looked at Goku with genuine interest. "Come on then. Show me what this 'Super Saiyan God' can do!"
Goku grinned and instantly flared into his Super Saiyan form. He charged, launching a barrage of punches that rained down on Beerus like a storm.
But Beerus didn't even raise his hands. With slight, effortless sways of his body, every single one of Goku's punches whistled through empty air.
Seeing this, Goku shifted gears and went Super Saiyan 2. It didn't help. He couldn't even graze the fabric of Beerus' clothes.
Beerus frowned, looking disappointed. "Hey, I came for the Super Saiyan God. You said you could transform. If this is all you've got, I have no interest in wasting my time."
Goku took a deep breath. Suddenly, a surge of Godly Ki erupted from his body.
Beerus' expression finally turned serious. "Finally. Here comes the Super Saiyan God."
As the transformation completed, Goku's appearance shifted. His physique became leaner and more refined. His signature black hair turned a vibrant, flaming red.
Even his eyebrows and pupils took on a fiery crimson hue. It was, to say the least, a very festive-looking form.
The raw, explosive pressure of his usual aura vanished, replaced by a deep, terrifyingly powerful Godly Ki.
"Interesting," Beerus smirked. "Come at me, boy! Let me see what makes this 'God' form so different!"
"I hope you don't disappoint me..."
"Don't worry, Lord Beerus! Here I come!"
Goku clenched his fists, and a gold-red aura enveloped him. In a flash, he appeared directly in front of Beerus' face, throwing a heavy punch.
Beerus didn't move. He simply extended his index finger and caught the blow.
Boom!
The moment the fist met the finger, a massive shockwave exploded outward.
The force of the impact was so great that Whis had to tap his scepter lightly on the ground to shield the buffet table. It would be a tragedy if all that delicious food was blown away before he was finished eating.
"Impressive. So this is the Super Saiyan God?"
Beerus chuckled and suddenly launched a kick, sending Goku flying backward.
Goku raised his arms to block and immediately began to counter-attack.
The two collided repeatedly in the sky. Beerus began to slowly increase his power, his purple energy clashing against Goku's gold-red light, whipping up a violent storm.
High above, after another massive collision that pushed both fighters back several dozen meters, they came to a halt.
Goku looked at the God of Destruction with a grim expression. "Lord Beerus... you aren't even trying yet, are you?"
Beerus looked slightly surprised. "Well now, you actually noticed?"
Goku took a long, deep breath and powered down, exiting his Super Saiyan God form.
Beerus' face fell. "What's this? Giving up already?"
