Chapter 57 - Chapter 56- Ulopong Island

(Jay's POV)

Over the next four days, my life became a crazy blur of coffee cups, heavy textbooks, and Keifer's handsome face. We had four more massive exams left after that first math victory.

There was Macroeconomics, maths and Business Law. Advanced Maths was a win but upcoming,(Even teacher announced that we will have our history exam too which would have been delayed) Each subject felt like a giant monster waiting to eat my brain. But luckily, I had a secret weapon. I had a genius husband who looked like a movie star.

Every single afternoon, right after class, Keifer would grab my hand. He would pull me through the hallways straight to our secret base in the library. It was a small table hidden behind the oldest, dustiest encyclopedias where nobody ever walked.

Keifer called it our war room. I called it the torture dungeon, even though the torturer was incredibly cute.

On Tuesday, we had to study for the giant history exam.(Business Law exam got delayed!!!!!) History was my worst nightmare because it was full of long dates and boring names of dead kings."Jay, look at me," Keifer said. He tapped his pencil against my forehead. He was wearing his glasses, which always made my heart do a little flip. "If you do not remember the treaty of 1812, I am going to have to apply the motivation rule."

My cheeks burned hot. The motivation rule was his new favorite game. If I blinked too slowly or started to drift off to sleep, he would lean across the table and kiss me right on the lips. The first time he did it, the old librarian almost caught us and gasped so loud her fake teeth almost fell out.

"I am awake! I am totally awake!" I squeaked. I blinked my eyes as wide as saucers. "The treaty was signed in the winter, right? By the guy with the funny mustache?"

Keifer let out a loud, beautiful laugh that echoed in the quiet library. "Not quite, my beautiful wife. Let me tell you the story again. But this time, imagine the king is just as handsome as me."

"Impossible," I mumbled. "Nobody is as vain as you."

He leaned closer, his eyes sparkling with absolute mischief. "What was that? Did you say you want a kiss?"

"No! I want to learn about the old kings! Tell me about the kings!" I yelled in a whisper. I grabbed my pen and started writing notes as fast as a racing car.

He was an amazing teacher. He did not just make me memorize words. He turned the whole history textbook into a funny soap opera. He made voices for the generals and drew silly stick figures in my notebook.

By the end of the night, my brain was full of old wars and treaties. But more importantly, my heart was full of him.

When Wednesday came, we sat in the grand examination hall for the history exam. The room was freezing cold and smelled like old paper and fear. All around me, students were sweating and biting their nails.

Seline was sitting three rows away, looking like she wanted to cry. She kept staring at Keifer, hoping he would look back. But Keifer did not look at anyone. He only looked at me. Right before the teacher yelled

"Start!", Keifer winked at me from across the aisle. He gave me a tiny, confident nod.

I turned over the exam paper. My eyes widened. It looked like a foreign language at first. But then, as I stared at the questions, Keifer's voice started playing inside my head. It was clear as a bell.

"Remember Jay, the guy with the funny mustache lost his hat in the snow." I started to laugh out loud. The teacher glared at me, so I quickly covered my mouth. I began to write.

My pen flew across the paper like a rocket ship. I knew every single answer. When the bell rang, I walked out of the hall like a queen.

"How did my little genius do?" Keifer asked. He met me at the door and immediately slung his heavy arm around my shoulders. He pulled me close against his warm chest."I crushed it!"

I cheered, jumping up and down. "I literally wrote five pages about the funny mustache king!"

"That is my girl," he smirked. He looked so proud, his chest puffed out like a peacock. "But do not celebrate too early. Tonight is business law night. And the law requires a lot of... physical energy."

He leaned down and whispered the last words right into my ear, making my entire body shiver with goosebumps.

"You are a menace," I laughed, pushing his playful face away.

Wednesday night was absolute chaos. Business law was full of confusing corporate rules, heavy legal contracts, and crazy court cases. We did not just stay in the library; Keifer dragged me back to our house and turned the entire kitchen into a courtroom.

This is unfair! He is literally CEO ! He has done practicals . Poor me!!!

He bought a giant whiteboard and drew huge circles showing how legal contracts lock two companies together.

"Okay, Jay. If a company breaks a signed contract, what happens to them?" Keifer asked. He was holding a spatula like a judge's gavel.

I stared at the whiteboard. My brain felt like mush. It was already eleven o'clock at night. My eyes were burning, and the couch looked so soft and inviting. "They... they have to go to jail forever?" I guessed weakly.

Keifer sighed, but his lips twitched into a smile. "Jay. You are falling asleep. You know what that means."

Before I could jump off the kitchen stool, Keifer lunged forward. He caught me by my waist and lifted me up. He sat me right on the kitchen counter. He leaned in and kissed me deeply. It was not a quick library kiss. It was a slow, dizzying kiss that made my toes curl inside my socks.

When he finally pulled away, my heart was thumping like a drum and my face was as red as a tomato."Are you awake now?" he whispered, his hands still resting on my hips.

"I am so awake I might never sleep again," I gasped, my voice shaking.

"Good," he smirked, stepping back and picking up his spatula again. "Now, let us talk about legal bonds and corporate deals. Just like you and me, some contracts are locked together forever and can never be broken."

I couldn't help but smile. Even when he was being a strict teacher, he was the sweetest man alive. We stayed up until two in the morning. He made me repeat the business laws over and over again until I could say them backward.

Keifer himself did not even need to study. He had read the law book once three months ago and remembered every single legal rule. It was deeply unfair how smart he was, but since he was using his super-brain to save my grades, I decided not to complain.

On Thursday morning, the business law exam felt like a breeze. While other students were groaning and pulling their hair out over complicated company rules, I was smiling. Every time I saw a question about contract deals, I thought about Keifer kissing me on the kitchen counter, and the answer just appeared in my mind. Keifer finished his test in twenty minutes. He spent the rest of the two hours drawing funny little doodles of me on the back of his scrap paper, looking incredibly bored and handsome.

Macroeconomics was also eventually a win!

Friday was the literature exam, which was mostly about giant, thick novels and poetry. This was supposed to be easy, but the teacher chose the most confusing poems in human history.

In the library that afternoon, I was ready to throw the poetry book out the window. "This makes no sense!" I cried, burying my face in my hands. "Why does the poet say the sky is green? The sky is blue! The poet is colorblind!"

Keifer chuckled and pulled my hands away from my face. He rubbed his thumbs against my cheeks. "The poet is talking about feelings, Jay. Green means jealousy. He is sad because the girl he loves is looking at another man."

He leaned in closer, his dark eyes locking onto mine. "Just like I would feel if you ever looked at anyone else."

"You are ridiculous," I giggled, my heart doing a little dance. "Nobody is looking at anyone else. I am stuck with a giant nerd."

"A very handsome nerd," he corrected proudly. He then spent the next three hours reciting old love poems to me in his deep, smooth voice.

It didn't feel like studying at all. It felt like a romantic movie. He explained the hidden meanings behind every metaphor and every rhyme. By the time he was done, I didn't just understand the poetry—I felt like I could write a whole book about it.

Friday's exam went perfectly. I wrote beautiful paragraphs about green skies and broken hearts. When the final bell rang on Friday afternoon, signaling the end of the exam week, the entire university erupted into loud cheers. Students threw their papers into the air. People were crying tears of joy.

Keifer and I walked out of the building holding hands. The sun was shining brightly, and the heavy dark cloud of exams had finally lifted.

"We did it," I said, leaning my head against his shoulder as we walked to his shiny black car. "Well, you did it. You saved my life."

"We are a team, Jay," Keifer said softly. He opened the car door for me like a true gentleman. "The ultimate power couple does not fail. Now, we just have to wait for the results on Monday."

The weekend went by too fast. We didn't study at all. We watched movies, ate giant tubs of ice cream, and enjoyed being lazy. But as Sunday night arrived, a cold knot of fear started to grow in my stomach. What if I had failed? What if Keifer's voice in my head was just a dream? What if I got a big, fat zero?

Monday morning arrived with a loud bang. The weather outside was gloomy and grey, matching the terrified mood of the entire campus. Today was the day. The final exam results were going to be posted on the giant bulletin board in the main courtyard at noon.

When Keifer and I arrived at school, the atmosphere was thick with tension. Thousands of students were standing in the courtyard, staring at the empty wooden board. Nobody was talking. The only sound was the wind blowing through the trees.

Seline was standing near the front, looking pale and shaking. Her friends were holding her hands, trying to calm her down. When she saw us walk in, she glared at me with pure hatred. She clearly wanted me to fail so she could laugh at me and try to steal Keifer away again.

Keifer kept his arm tightly wrapped around my waist. He felt like a solid rock next to me. "Stop shaking, Jay," he murmured into my hair. "You did perfectly. Trust me."

"I am trying," I whispered, my heart beating so hard I thought it would burst through my shirt. "But my knees feel like jelly."

Suddenly, the heavy wooden doors of the main building swung open. The head dean of the university walked out, wearing a long black robe. He looked incredibly serious, like a judge about to announce a prison sentence. Behind him, two teachers were carrying a giant, rolled-up sheet of paper. The crowd gasped. Everyone pushed forward to get closer.

"Students," the dean's voice boomed through a microphone, echoing off the stone walls. "The final exam results have been calculated. This year has been the most difficult in our university's history. The exams were brutal. Many have failed."

A girl next to me started sobbing quietly. My hand gripped Keifer's jacket so hard my knuckles turned white.

"However," the dean continued, his eyes scanning the crowd. "We also have some of the highest scores ever recorded. I will now post the official list of rankings from the top student to the bottom."

The teachers stepped forward. They lifted the giant paper and pinned it to the bulletin board. For a second, nobody moved. The silence was deafening. Then, like a wild herd of animals, hundreds of students screamed and rushed toward the board.

"Don't move," Keifer said calmly. "Let them fight. We can see from here."

"Are you crazy? We can't see the tiny letters from back here!" I panicked, pulling his arm."Watch," he smirked. The crowd around the board suddenly began to whisper. The whispers grew louder and louder. Then, people started turning around to look at us. Their eyes were wide with total shock.

The students split down the middle, creating a wide, open path straight from the bulletin board to where Keifer and I were standing.

"No way," someone whispered."Is this a mistake?" another person gasped.

Seline was staring at the board, her mouth wide open like a fish out of water. She looked like she had just seen a ghost. She dropped her books on the muddy ground and staggered backward.

"Jay, look at the top," a student from my class yelled out. I blinked hard and looked across the open path. At the very top of the giant paper, printed in massive, bold gold letters, were the top two names of the entire university ranking.

RANK 1: KEIFER — PERFECT SCORE (100%)

RANK 2: JAY — CO-PERFECT SCORE (99.8%)

I stopped breathing. My eyes nearly popped out of my skull. Rank two? Me? The girl who thought a king lost his hat in the snow? I had beaten the entire school. I had beaten Seline. I had beaten every single smart kid in the university.

The only person above me was my Keifer and I was only two points behind his perfect genius score. The entire courtyard went completely silent for three seconds. Then, the silence exploded. The student body broke into a wild, deafening cheer. People started jumping up and down, screaming our names.

"The Power Couple! They did it! They conquered the exams!" Teachers were clapping. The dean was smiling and nodding at us. It was a total, dramatic triumph.I turned to Keifer, my eyes full of happy tears. "I did it? I really did it?"

Keifer didn't say a word. His proud smirk disappeared, replaced by the most tender, loving smile I had ever seen on his face. He caught me by my waist, lifted me completely off the ground, and spun me around in the middle of the cheering crowd.

"I told you, my beautiful wife," he said loudly over the noise, his eyes shining with absolute adoration. "With me as your teacher, you are unstoppable."He set me down but did not let me go.

He leaned down in front of everyone—in front of the dean, the teachers, and a defeated Seline—and kissed me with so much passion that the crowd cheered even louder. The university was ours. The exams were beaten. The ultimate power couple was back, and nobody could ever touch us again.

The heavy wooden doors of the university swung shut behind us for the last time. The stress of exams, the crowded hallways, and Seline's angry face were finally gone. We had conquered the school. Now, it was time to enjoy our reward. Keifer had planned a surprise trip, and he refused to tell me where we were going until we arrived at the airport.

When he finally handed me my boarding pass, my jaw dropped. We were flying to our Ulopong island.

My heart skipped a beat! My island- the one we have our best memories with!

The Flight of Luxury

First-Class Bliss: Keifer booked an entire private cabin on the plane just for the two of us.

Flirty Lounge: He kept teasing me about how I used to drool while sleeping back in our high school days.

Grand Arrival: A private helicopter took us straight from the runway to the beautiful shores of my very own island.

The island looked even more beautiful than I remembered. The sand was as white as sugar, and the ocean water was so clear that you could see colorful fish swimming around. When we stepped off the helicopter, I looked at the giant wooden sign that the Section E boys had helped me set up back then. It proudly read: WELCOME TO ULOPONG ISLAND.

I walked around with my chin held high, constantly reminding Keifer that he was technically a guest on my island.

Keifer insisted on rubbing lotion on my back, using it as an excuse to tickle me until I fell into the sand.

We spent hours talking about our old friends, laughing about how the boys used to whine dramatically because they wanted a rich boyfriend like Keifer too.

On our first evening, Keifer organized a private dinner right on the sand, close to where we used to have beach bonfires with the gang. The path was lit by glowing torches. A table for two sat near the water's edge. He looked incredibly handsome in a loose white linen shirt, his messy dark hair blowing in the warm sea breeze.

"Do you like being back on your island, my beautiful wife?" he asked. He poured fresh coconut water into my glass, his lips curling into that familiar, proud smirk.

"I love it," I said, looking out at the pink and orange sunset. "It feels amazing to be back here. No exams, no Seline, and no stressful business law contracts."

"I don't know about that," he chuckled, leaning across the small table to grab my hand. "I remember a certain girl who choked on her food when I first told her this whole place belonged to her."

"Hey! Anyone would choke if their boyfriend suddenly handed them a whole island! I remembered how i ran and got blind instantly " I laughed, throwing a tropical flower at his chest. He caught it easily with a grin.

After dinner, we walked along the shoreline. The water was warm against our feet, and the sky was filled with thousands of bright stars. For the first time in months, we felt completely free.

It was just me and my genius husband, creating new memories in the place where our story truly began.

"You really did amazing on the exams, Jay," Keifer said softly.

He stopped walking and turned me to face him, wrapping his strong arms tightly around my waist. "The Mutya of Section E is officially the queen of the university too."

"I had a pretty good HVIS tutor," I smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck.

He leaned down and kissed me under the starlight. This kiss was slow, sweet, and full of deep love. It was the perfect celebration of our victory, right here on the shores of our very own paradise...
