"I know you aren't weak. But just because you can endure the pain doesn't mean I want to inflict it on you," Aliana retorted.
"It isn't as if you are actively trying to harm me," Gavriel reasoned. A subtle, teasing curve touched his lips as he added, "I'll survive."
Aliana shook her head and let out a helpless sigh. Knowing that arguing about this with Gavriel was pointless, she decided to let it go.
