"That's not what I meant." She pursed her lips, genuinely curious about what level of demon she might be based on her powers.
After a moment of thought, she asked, "So... do you think I'm a new soul, or... do I have a past life in which I was already one?"
Gavriel released another sigh. "That is another mystery I don't have an answer to, Ana. The souls of demons and celestial beings are never known to be born in a realm other than their own. It is forbidden for a demonic or divine soul to be born into the human realm. When such an anomaly occurs, it is always for a far greater purpose."
Shock flickered in Aliana's eyes as she murmured, "So... are you saying I was never supposed to be born in the human world?"
