Her eyes remained fixed on him as she watched a slight frown between his brows while he continued, "Anything else... you can do anything you want to me… but not this."
Slowly, he opened his icy blue eyes, the intensity in them stealing her breath away.
"You cannot run away from me anymore, Ana." His voice dropped into a husky whisper. "You're mine, and I won't allow any distance to exist between us ever again."
Holding her gaze captive, he asked softly, "Understand?"
Aliana gazed at him in stunned silence before she whispered, "My powers..."
"They cannot harm me." He gently stroked his thumb across her cheek.
When he saw questions swirling in those innocent grey eyes, he spoke softly. "Remember when I told you that I am different? Just know they cannot harm me, so stop pushing me away."
She blinked at him, her vision blurring before a fresh tear spilled from her eyes. Her trembling voice asked, "R-Really?"
