Chapter 85 - Chapter 85: Beginner’s Luck or a Pro in Disguise?

Victor swallowed hard. "The money in this card… it's not meant for the first round…"

The staff member glanced at him calmly. "Our minimum bet starts at two hundred thousand."

In other words—

Eighteen thousand was already letting him off easy.

Either accept it, or admit defeat.

Victor's throat tightened. He looked away, his heart aching.

That eighteen thousand was his savings—money he'd spent ages building up.

And just like that—

Gone.

Damn it…

But he refused to believe he'd lose.

He could win it back.

He had to.

Grinding his teeth, he picked up the dice cup again and shook it harder this time.

"Guess!"

"Three. Low."

Riley smiled faintly, her tone as relaxed as ever.

Victor didn't smile back.

Not this time.

His hand felt heavy as he lifted the cup.

And just like before—

Two stacks of dice.

Each showing one.

Total: three.

The crowd inhaled sharply.

She got it right again.

People here weren't amateurs. Many had played long enough to recognize skill when they saw it.

Sure—

Some could identify dice patterns by sound.

But no one could do it this fast.

The moment the cup hit the table—

She already had the answer.

That kind of precision?

Either insane luck…

Or a true expert.

Yet Riley looked far too young to be a seasoned player.

And still—

She wasn't just guessing high or low.

She was calling exact numbers.

Victor and the others refused to believe it was skill.

It has to be luck.

It has to be.

So—

He would go again.

But when he reached for the dice—

He froze.

He had no money left.

His gaze shifted toward Sophia.

Sophia shot Riley a hateful glare, then reluctantly pulled out her own card.

Once it hit the table, there was no taking it back.

Over four hundred thousand.

All in.

This time, Riley didn't even bother with specifics.

"Still low."

Victor's face drained of color.

Slowly, he opened the cup.

Low.

Again.

Sophia snapped. "Are you stupid?! Why don't you change your pattern?!"

Victor's temper flared instantly. "What do you know?!"

If she's really guessing randomly… she should be switching answers.

But she kept saying "low".

That meant—

Next round, he'd force a high.

"I need more money," Victor said impatiently, turning to Sophia.

She gritted her teeth. "I'm out. That's all I brought today."

"You—" His voice rose. "Then what am I supposed to do? You know this place doesn't allow credit!"

Being called out like that in front of everyone—

Sophia's anger exploded.

"You're the one who insisted on betting! Figure it out yourself!"

Victor nearly lost control right there.

Watching the chaos unfold, Riley leaned back lazily, a faint smile playing on her lips.

So not only is he a cheating scumbag…

He's also the type who takes money from women without shame.

She popped a grape into her mouth, amused.

And she's a rich girl… how did she end up with someone like this?

At that moment—

Felicia stepped forward, her voice gentle and soothing.

"Don't worry," she said softly. "I still have some money. We can pool together. We can't just leave Victor stuck here."

Her tone was like a warm breeze.

Victor's expression softened instantly as he looked at her.

His gaze turned tender.

As expected…

Felicia is different.

Kind. Considerate.

Unlike Sophia, who only knew how to yell.

Felicia lowered her gaze shyly, but inside—

She was glowing with satisfaction.

This is how you win people over.

One sentence was enough.

Now, Victor would never forget me.
