Conversations were going around as the group finally arrived at their base after being away for more than a week.
They're excited to be back, I mean who would blame them. They spent their whole lives breathing toxic and recycled air, they've only eaten food that tastes bland if corpse starch and whatever synthetic paste they've eaten could be called food. Some of them have even eaten corpses. They lived their day to day lives in the dark since they couldn't afford power and they've drank recycled and used water— in essence they lived in horrible conditions and this just the norm for those in the lower hive, now imagine those living in the underhive.
So now that they've been introduced to living like normal people from the 21st century, of course they're gonna think this is luxurious and be thankful to their savior. So if that savior requests them of something then they're obviously gonna do it without complaints even if the target of their current mission makes them extremely, extremely uncomfortable.

The door opened after doing a deep and thorough scan of each of them.
"Boss!!! We're back!!"
"Shush! Your interrupting peak here!"
Arthur's voice shut up whatever conversation that was going on. The group being curious kept quiet and went to where Arthur— their boss, leader and savior— was.

The past two months the space in their base was increased to accommodate the increase in manpower and population in the base. One area was made for the people they've taken in, one is an area for training, another is a recreational area and the private area is Arthur's lab.

They quickly went to the recreational area and went to where the crowd was and they saw Seris and her squad—Gemma squad— on stage, singing with Arthur at the back and enjoying himself.

The group reached Arthur and stayed by his side. The Drukhari looked at the Arthur in interest and he looked back at her, sighed and went back to listening. His reaction interested her more but she decided to hold her words and listen with the rest of the group.
"~He's interesting.~"

Seris's voice reached a high note and the group felt goosebumps, well except the Drukhari and the 'target'.

(A/N: I was listening to the hsr 2nd anniversary online concert when I was writing this.)
The concert ended with the squad receiving a resounding applause and excited shouts with Arthur being one of the loudest among them.
"Ah, chills. Literal chills."
"Miss Seris's voice is still giving me chills."
"Yeah its amazing especially when they harmonize."

The place got rowdy and Arthur signaled the arriving group to gather and come to his lab.

Arthur's POV.
"Wait, let me get this straight. You guys robbed the water cartels in the underhive of all their water supply, weapons and food!?"
I sighed and rubbed my forehead, hearing the crazy things Lappland did in this mission. This isn't even the first time she has done something like this but still, it was reckless considering that they had to be on the look out for a rogue machinecus.
"Lappland."
"Yes boss!"
She excitedly replied, her tail wegged, eyes shining in excitement, happiness and expectations. She looks like a puppy waiting for headpets.
—sigh—
"Good job but next time take your mission more seriously, okay?"
"Hmm!"
She hummed happily as I gently patted her head. I really have to stop spoiling her. I also looked at the pouting Vera and once again sighed, yeah I really have a soft spot for these two.
"Good girl."
"Mmm!"
I took my time pat both girls and after that I looked at the 'target'. A few weeks ago I heard an interesting rumor about an area that people in the underhive refuse to go to even the gangsters. Everyone who approached that area said that they felt a feeling of discomfort, disgust, and hatred for reasons unknown and it wasn't until Vera approached the area that I found out what was the cause.
A blank.
A person who has no psychic presence what so in the warp, they are usually called the soulless and they are the natural enemy of all psykers and warp entities. The imperium also has a faction of blanks called the sisters of silence who are made to hunt down rogue psykers.
Wow okay that's weird. Great sage what was that?
When I had just finished recalling the information I know about blanks, a bad feeling wormed it's way into my mind. It's probably my intuition but it's been off lately so for me to feel like this means something is going to happen and it involves the imperium.
[Answer: It is as you have guessed. There is danger coming your way and we don't know how bad it is due to some interference going on in the warp.]
I see. I already expected danger when I showed of my powers during the last major fight I had but I didn't expect it would be the imperium honestly.
[Answer: It could be coming from both sides— chaos and the imperium— but we have no way of knowing. Would it be the right time to initiate operation: Space Captain?]
Yeah do it just in case we have to leave the planet.
[Answer: Affirmative.]
[Query: Would you like me to kill the daemon that's eying you?]
Not now. It's with the Eldar though do keep that in mind just in case things don't go as planned.

I've been sighing alot lately.
I moved past Lappland and Vera and went towards the Blank. It has a power dampener collar that's suppressing their psychic interference field.
"Damn you really are one unlucky person aren't you?"
I looked at the blank up and down. No like serious they are really unlucky, they were born as a blank and probably hated for all their life and somewhere along that road they got horribly mutated too, to the point of not looking like a person and more of a monster.
"..."
"Not much of a talker huh. Okay look I have a deal for you, wanna join my small group of special people and in exchange I help you with your little problem. How about it?"
"..."
It looked at me in silence for a while before slowly nodding its head.
"Good girl. Eh.. or boy or mutant?"
"Huh we will definitely get you a name unless you have one of your own?"
It shook its head. Well that's sad.
"Okay... hmm. I'll call you experiment 626 for now until I think of a good name for you, sounds good?"
It or 626 nodded.
"Great! Jake take it to Seris. She's good with people and make sure you give 626 some food too."
"No problem boss."
After that I delt with some other stuff before getting back to my 'guest'.
"Sorry for the wait, miss Eldari. Hope I didn't keep you guys waiting for too long."
"'Tis no trouble."
"So what can I call you? I can't just call you Eldar or Drukhari or space elf or anything else."
"Mari is my name. 'Tis a pleasure to make thy acquaintance, Monke."
Whatever I was going to say left my mind as soon as she finished speaking.
"Bitch, did you just call me a monkey?"
And the thought followed after.
'Did she just call me a monkey!?'
