He shook both Rebecca and Vivian lightly. As soon as they woke, he covered both of their mouths to stop them from making any noise and whispered in a soft voice.
"Someone has intruded into the house. You two don't make any sound from now on."
Then he removed his hands from their mouths. Vivian watched Jack about to leave and look for the intruder and said worriedly,
"I will come with you. We can deal with the threat together."
Jack shook his head in denial. "No, you have to stay close to Rebecca and protect her. I will take care of the matter outside."
After that, he jumped out of the open window in the room and closed it from the outside.
He reduced his presence, and his body moved swiftly like a shadow in the deep darkness of the night, following his instinct towards the direction of the intruder.
