And the newcomer was naturally the 'Daddy' Star-Lord both loved and hated, Yondu!
Ronan glanced at the Yaka Arrow at his feet, as well as Yondu, who was pouring in from the exit with a large wave of Raiders. He didn't panic at all; instead, he questioned Yondu coldly:
"Yondu Udonta of the Raiders, how did a fellow like you break in here?"
Yondu crossed his arms over his chest and smiled disdainfully, looking as if he didn't care about Ronan at all:
"Stupid Kree, while you were acting tough with my foolish adopted son, your Necro-soldier lackeys outside were all dealt with by me!"
Ronan was stunned upon hearing this. Why did Yondu's words sound so familiar?
Then he thought about it carefully. Wasn't this the damn same thing he said to the warden of this prison earlier?
Realizing this, the highly prideful Ronan immediately felt immensely insulted!
And as for those who insulted him, he had said before that none would leave alive!
Thus, Ronan tossed aside Gamora, whom he had nearly strangled to death, pointed his long hammer at Yondu, and said with murderous intent:
"You lowly Raider, do you think that by dealing with a few of my grunts, you can stand against the great Ronan the Accuser of the Kree Empire?"
"Today, you Raiders will pay a heavy price for your Captain's stupidity and arrogance!"
After finishing his harsh words, Ronan stepped on the Yaka Arrow at his feet and charged toward Yondu like a black cannonball!
To this, Yondu didn't panic at all. Instead, he stepped aside and said leisurely, "Sorry, I'm not the Captain anymore~"
As Yondu moved aside, Ronan discovered that at some point, a silver-gray figure even taller than him was standing behind Yondu!
Just standing there, that figure gave Ronan a sense of pressure even stronger than when he first faced Thanos!
Not good!
Although his brain realized something was wrong, Ronan couldn't actually fly. Relying on brute force to launch himself, he couldn't brake halfway and could only crash straight into Ryan!
Then...
Bang!
With a casual slap, Ryan swatted the incoming Ronan into a bloody mist, splashing it in a fan-shaped spray all over the faces of Star-Lord and the others in front!
Nothing else, just pure strength!
Star-Lord blankly touched the blood on his face that wasn't his, swallowed hard, and couldn't believe it.
Is this for real?
Ronan the Accuser, who had just brought despair to the entire Kyln Prison and toyed with their whole team like dogs, hadn't even withstood a single punch before this man and was turned into a bloody mist?
When did his cheap old man get to know such a badass figure? How did he not know at all?
Actually, let alone Star-Lord, even Yondu himself was just as surprised, wasn't he?
Although he had previously witnessed the new Captain Ryan's telekinetic control skills, which were even more terrifying than his own, as well as his magical means, he really didn't expect that this new Captain was not only awesome at Telekinesis and magic but also ridiculously strong in physical power!
That was Ronan the Accuser!
A powerhouse ranked in the Universe, only a notch weaker than Thanos in terms of reputation!
With such a character, even if you could win, wasn't it a bit too easy?
One slap for one Ronan, so would Thanos just be a matter of two slaps?
But in front of his adopted son, Yondu still had to maintain his prestige. Thus, pretending to be calm as if he already knew, he walked over to Star-Lord, who was lying on the ground unable to move, squatted down, patted Star-Lord's blood-stained face, and said indifferently:
"Kid, thought your wings were strong enough to leave me, leave the entire Raiders, and go solo, huh?"
"See, this is the consequence of choosing to go solo—getting toyed with like a dog, right?"
"Hmph! Take this as a lesson. From now on, follow everyone obediently. If you dare to leave the team without permission again, you won't be so lucky next time!"
Hearing this, Star-Lord was stunned. He looked at Yondu and asked blankly, "Yondu, you... don't blame me?"
On Yondu's fierce face, a rare, loving smile appeared: "Blame you? Why would I blame you?"
"Blame you for causing such a big mess? But who hasn't been young? Who hasn't caused trouble when they were young? I was even crazier than you when I was young and did many things I'll regret for the rest of my life!"
"The reason I was strict with you before, besides not wanting you to follow in my footsteps, was because our crew wasn't united. Many people, led by Pip, were dissatisfied with you. So, as the next Captain I chose, I wanted you to grow enough to convince everyone..."
Looking at Yondu, whose words showed true emotion, Star-Lord, who had just experienced a life-and-death crisis, couldn't help but have his eyes turn red:
"You bastard, why didn't you tell me this before? You always used the crew wanting to eat me to scare me and always acted like a villain. Tell me sooner! Why didn't you tell me sooner!"
Yondu curled his lip and shrugged casually:
"I wasn't lying to you before. That guy Pip really wanted to eat you several times. If I hadn't stopped him, you'd probably be a pile of poop by now~"
"As for why I'm telling you this now, it's because I no longer need to use pressure to force you to grow, because... I'm not the Captain anymore~"
"Come on, kid, meet our new Captain. If it weren't for him, I'd probably really only be able to come and collect your corpse~"
Saying this, Yondu helped Star-Lord up and walked to Ryan, who was surrounded by a group of Raiders.
Seeing that the terrifying guy who had just punched Ronan into oblivion was actually his new Captain, Star-Lord was both surprised and delighted. He quietly asked Yondu, who was supporting him:
"Yondu, where on earth did you find this big shot? A powerhouse like this coming to your crappy ship to be the Captain, is it for real?"
Hearing this, Yondu's mouth twitched violently. If Star-Lord weren't already seriously injured, he really would have wanted to beat the kid up:
"What do you mean 'crappy ship'? This is the home that raised you! Its name is the Ravager Ship! It's the honor and property I've worked for my whole life!"
After being safe, Star-Lord couldn't help but return to his unreliable self and complained:
"Come on, Dad, 'Ravager Ship'? Don't think I don't know; we don't belong to the legitimate Raiders at all. We're just imposters..."
This wasn't a lie from Star-Lord. The Raiders are a very large organization in the Universe. Star-Lord had previously investigated out of curiosity and found that the Ravager Ship he was on was not recognized by the legitimate Raiders at all!
That was exactly why he used to feel that his adoptive father never spoke a word of truth; it was all lies!
But Star-Lord didn't notice that after hearing his words, the light in Yondu's eyes dimmed. He didn't refute it, but just lightly tapped Star-Lord's head:
"Alright, kid, hurry up and greet our new Captain, the great 'Spider Monarch' Ryan Parker!"
