Chapter 73 - Chapter 73: Kayneth's Great Magecraft!

"Mercury!"

"Mercury" in English represents quicksilver, the planet Mercury, and the messenger of the gods in Roman mythology, as well as the god of livestock, thieves, commerce, transportation, travel, and sports, one of the twelve main gods of Rome.

With Kayneth's loud shout, a huge Mercury pillar erupted from the ground behind Fionn. Then, two giant pythons made of Mercury bound Fionn tightly to the pillar with lightning speed.

Legend has it that once, Mercury threw his staff between two fighting snakes, and they immediately reconciled. Thus, the Caduceus is seen as a symbol of communication and reconciliation. It also symbolizes that in business, there are no permanent friends or enemies, only permanent interests. In the West, it is believed the Caduceus can make business negotiations smoother and ease conflicts between parties.

After a flash of magical light on Fionn, the Caduceus transformed back into Mercury and returned to the earth. But at this moment, Fionn stood frozen in place, as if he had been completely hypnotized.

This was precisely the beginning of Kayneth using Roman mythological concepts to reproduce the true effect of the Herald's Staff Great Magecraft.

"Rin, Marisbury, protect me. I am about to begin the final phase now!"

The Caduceus, a Great Magecraft that Kayneth had developed after the Fourth War by expending great effort to combine the dual domains of Mineralogy and Spiritron Evocation. The effect of the mineral component had already been demonstrated, and now it was time for the spiritron evocation.

Upon hearing Kayneth's words, Rin and Marisbury quickly moved to his side, joining Reines. The three of them formed a defensive triangle, watching Dr. Heartless warily.

As Kayneth chanted once more, a mass of transparent figures began to be continuously pulled out from Finn, who stood dazed in place.

Seeing this scene, the calm smile on Dr. Heartless's face vanished. Thinking of the Sajyou Manaka he would have to face if he failed, he shuddered and roared anxiously.

"Damn it!"

The Child of Einnashe began to riot, and countless branches blocked out the sky, surging toward Kayneth like a tidal wave.

Facing such a crisis, Rin let out a shout and crushed a gem containing ancient starlight, causing the wings of light to once again emit an ancient and pure light of destruction.

At this moment, Marisbury also set aside his usual graceful composure, chanting rapidly and continuously firing Magic Bullets.

Meanwhile, the manager of the Mystic Eye Collection Train, who had been monitoring the battle outside, could no longer sit still. Although she was completely caught in the crossfire, she could not worry about such issues now. She quickly ordered the auctioneer to load the Mystic Eyes, and with a series of transformations, the Mystic Eye Collection Train opened fire!

Boom~!

Explosions rang out incessantly, but there were too many. The branches of the Child of Einnashe were simply too numerous. Even though Rin and the others fought hard to block them, many branches still broke through the blockade, advancing toward Kayneth.

At this critical moment.

"Wail!"

Lorelei appeared like a savior. Flying high in the sky, she pointed her riding crop, and a violent hurricane shattered all the branches that had broken through the blockade.

Seeing all the branches blocked, Rin finally had a moment to catch her breath. She gave Lorelei a thumbs up and said, "Lorelei! That was perfect timing."

"Of course. I am Barthomeloi."

"Oh no!"

Just as Rin and Lorelei let their guard down to chat, Dr. Heartless pushed through Reines and Marisbury's Magic Bullets and broke into Kayneth's side.

"Die!"

Facing Dr. Heartless, who had broken through Reines and Marisbury's defenses, Kayneth showed no signs of stopping his chant. Just as Dr. Heartless's left hand, burning with green flames, was about to touch Kayneth.

Moonlit Essence, that overlooked and supreme Mystic Code of Kayneth's, once again displayed its ferocity. Since it only required operation through Magic Crests, Moonlit Essence could still be used even while Kayneth was casting spells.

"Ah!"

Dr. Heartless clutched his severed left arm and fell to the ground. On the ground nearby, the left arm severed by Moonlit Essence was burned into a pile of ashes by the green flames due to the out-of-control magecraft.

"Mercury!"

As Kayneth shouted once more, Finn was pulled out from his saint graph. After smiling and nodding at Kayneth, he turned into starlight and vanished from the world.

Marisbury looked regretfully at Finn, who had dissipated into the world, and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

"Is it over?"

Supported by Reines, Kayneth walked over to Dr. Heartless, who had collapsed on the ground, and looked down at him from above.

"Of course! Marisbury, if you need information about the Servant, you can trade with me. I will take Dr. Heartless as per our previous agreement!"

"That won't do! He is still useful to me, so I cannot hand him over to you!"

"Who is that!"

Everyone turned their heads toward the direction of the voice, only to see Sajyou Manaka, like an elf from the mortal world, skipping toward them from the wreckage of the Child of Einnashe.

"Rin-chan, we meet again!"

"Sajyou Manaka!"

Everyone except Rin suddenly found themselves unable to say a word, and could only stand helplessly in place.

"Rin-chan, you can't have him. He's still useful to me. Let me take him, okay?"

Although Rin could still speak, her body was unable to move, and she could only let Manaka hold her arm and act coquettishly.

Rin looked nervously at Manaka, who was holding her arm and acting like a little girl, fearing that Manaka's expression would change in the next second and she would rip her arm off.

"Rin-chan, if you don't say anything, I'll take it as you agreeing! Hey, you piece of trash, get up and come with me."

Seeing that Rin did not speak, Manaka showed a bored expression, turned her head to say that to Dr. Heartless, and then led Dr. Heartless away.

After Manaka led Dr. Heartless away, Kayneth, this Lord of the Clock Tower, swallowed nervously with lingering fear.

"Was that Sajyou Manaka from the Department of General Fundamentals? Are all the people from the Far East monsters?"

Marisbury looked thoughtfully in the direction where Manaka had left, muttering silently in a voice that no one but himself could hear.

"The Calamity of the Root!"

Lorelei gritted her teeth, her riding crop creaking in her grip.

Barthomeloi Lorelei, the Queen of the Clock Tower, possessed an obsession with victory that the young girl herself could not control. Believing that she would always be victorious, forever victorious, Lorelei had just been rendered unable to move by a single glance from Manaka. For the incredibly proud Lorelei, this was a complete humiliation.

"Rin, you know her, don't you? Take me to see her! Right now!"

Rin looked at the enraged Lorelei, shook her head helplessly, and turned to walk toward the train.

"Tohsaka Rin! I order you to take me to see her, did you hear me..."

"Lorelei, admit it! Even if you saw Manaka now, what could you do? Commit suicide?"

"I..."

Lorelei remained silent, standing frozen in place.
