Chapter 18 - Chapter 137: Slipper War.

Jayjay'sPOV

I woke up and blinked, but everything was pitch black. For a split second, panic flared in my chest—Am I blind?! Then, I realized my face was pressed against something soft and warm. I was hugging someone around the waist.

Wait. How was I on a bed? Didn't I fall asleep on the couch while we were watching the movie? My brain slowly started to piece it together as I realized my forehead was resting against a very familiar chest. Keifer. Who else would I be in this position with?

I tried to sneakily slide my hand away from his waist, but the moment I moved, his arms tightened around me, pulling me even closer.

"Keif," I whispered.

"Five more minutes, wifey," he mumbled in a thick, sleepy voice.

"No, Keifer, I can't breathe!" I lied. I could breathe perfectly fine, but I needed an escape plan before the boys started knocking.

"You slept like this the whole night, snoring in my ear," he muttered without opening his eyes. "You were breathing then, and you're breathing now. You just want to leave."

Oh god. Why does this man know me better than I know myself?

"Fine," I sighed, playing my trump card. "I'll give you a kiss if you let me go."

He sat up faster than I thought humanly possible. The sleepiness vanished instantly. "Now. Give it to me," he said, waiting.

"Oh, so you really want that kiss?" I teased. He nodded like a little kid expecting candy. I leaned in, planted a quick kiss on his cheek, and immediately scrambled off the bed.

"Jayjay! That's not fair!" he protested.

"It's perfectly fair and square!" I shouted, already bolting for the door. "I said I'd give you a kiss; I never said it would be on the lips!"

I grabbed the handle and yanked, but it wouldn't budge. Locked. I heard him chuckling behind me. Before I could fumble with the lock, he caught me from behind, swept me off my feet, and tossed me back onto the mattress. He leaned over me, a dangerous smirk playing on his lips.

"Now," he whispered. "I'll show you what's actually fair."

Suddenly, he threw the blanket over me, trapping me completely. I started kicking and punching from inside the fabric cocoon like a wild animal, and I could hear him laughing his head off outside.

Somehow, I managed to wiggle one hand and one leg free. I didn't even care where I was aiming; I just kept swinging. Then, my other leg broke free. I delivered a powerful kick into the air, and it landed perfectly—BAM!—right in Keifer's stomach.

The bed suddenly felt much lighter. I scrambled out from under the blanket and saw Keifer sitting on the floor, rubbing his back with a stunned expression. I burst into laughter, the sound echoing through the room. As I moved to the other side of the bed, I spotted a slipper on the floor.

My weapon.

I grabbed the slipper and stood straight up on the bed like a warrior. I held it by the heel and pointed the toe at him like a loaded gun.

"You think I'm scared of a slipper?" he asked, looking up at me.

"Yeah! Now, hands up, or this slipper is landing right on your face!" I threatened.

He looked at me in total confusion for a second, but then, slowly, he raised his hands.

"Now, kneel!" I commanded.

"What?" he asked, his eyes widening.

"Do it! Or else..." I waved the slipper menacingly.

He sighed, but he actually dropped to one knee.

"Both knees!" I snapped.

He let out a long, defeated breath, but he did it. There we were: I was standing on the bed, brandishing a slipper like a sword, and the most powerful boy in school was kneeling on the floor with both hands in the air. I swear, if anyone walked in right now, they'd think we had both escaped from a mental hospital.

I was trying so hard to keep a serious face, but seeing Keifer—the legendary, cold-hearted leader—actually following my slipper-commands was almost too much.

"Good boy," I teased, waving the slipper like a victory flag. "Now... say you're sorry."

I jumped off the bed, feeling like I finally had the upper hand.

"Nope," he said flatly.

I waved the slipper threateningly. "Why should I apologize?" he asked, trying to look innocent.

"First, you slept on the bed with me. Second, you locked the door! And third... you wrapped me in that blanket like a chicken wrap!" I listed my grievances with a huff.

"I'm still not saying it," he challenged.

I didn't hesitate. I grabbed the other slipper from the floor and chucked the first one right at him.

"You want more?" I asked, brandishing the second one.

"No, no! Okay!" He held up his hands. He let out a long sigh. "I'm sorry... Mrs. Watson."

My heart did a weird little flip when he said that. I just stared at him, my brain momentarily short-circuiting. He took advantage of my silence, standing up and stepping toward me.

"W-what are you doing?" I asked, my bravado vanishing as I took a step back.

"Are you afraid?" he asked, his voice dropping into that low, smooth tone that made my heart skip a beat. I kept backing up until my shoulders hit the cold wall.

"N-no," I said, shaking my head.

"Then why did you step back?"

He was too close. I quickly jammed the bottom of the slipper against his chest to keep him at a distance. "It was because... I don't want to tell you!"

I pushed against him with the slipper, and to my surprise, he actually stepped back. I kept pushing until we were standing right in the middle of the room.

"Is this really your weapon?" he asked, looking down at the slipper pressed against his heart.

"Yep," I said firmly.

"You can't stop me, Jayjay."

"I can."

"You really think this slipper is going to stop me?" he asked, a challenge in his eyes.

"No," I admitted. He raised an eyebrow. "Then who is?"

I paused, looking him right in the eyes. "Sometimes it isn't the weapon that stops a person... it's the one holding it."

"Oh, really?" he whispered.

I nodded, but before I could say another word, he leaned in. My hand lost its strength, and the slipper slipped from his chest as he kissed me. It felt like he was a man on a mission, and I couldn't help but respond. My grip on the slipper loosened completely, and he smoothly took it out of my hand.

Keifer'sPOV

I had to get that slipper away from her. An idea flashed through my mind—a distraction. I leaned in, and as I expected, the slipper slid to the side. I kissed her, and while she was shocked at first, she eventually responded. Her grip on the weapon loosened, and I seized the opportunity to snatch it from her hand.

She pushed me away immediately, her eyes wide. "You traitor!"

She lunged for the slipper, but I held it high above my head. She started jumping, reaching for it desperately. "Give it back!"

I just shook my head, enjoying the view. "You cheated! You're a cheater!" she yelled, but I stayed silent, just watching her.

"Take it," I challenged with a smirk, holding it even higher.

"Just give it to me!"

"As you said," I replied, leaning down slightly, "sometimes it isn't the weapon that stops a person... it's the one holding it."

She rubbed her chin, thinking for a second, and then she lunged. She kissed me hard, clearly trying to use my own trick against me. But I wasn't going to fall for it that easily. I kept my grip tight on the slipper even as my heart raced. Her hand reached up, but she couldn't reach it. She pulled away, breathless.

"You're cheating!" she gasped.

"I'm not cheating. I'm just not letting myself get distracted by your moves."

"Keifer, bro, just give it back," she said. My brows furrowed instantly.

"Bro?" I repeated, my voice dropping.

"Oh! Sorry! I usually call Section E that, it just slipped out!" she explained quickly. I took a deep breath to calm my annoyance.

"You want the slipper?" I asked. She nodded eagerly. "Try again."

She looked at me suspiciously. "No way. You just want another kiss."

"Try again, and maybe you'll get it."

She sighed, hesitated for a moment, and then stepped closer. She kissed me again, and this time it was even harder to stay focused. Her hand reached for the slipper, but she failed again. We both pulled apart, completely out of breath.

"You're cheating," she accused again.

"I'm just focused," I countered.

"You don't love me," she said, crossing her arms and looking away.

"No, I do love you. I'd do anything for you," I said sincerely.

"Anything?" she asked, her eyes snapping back to mine.

"Yes. ANYTHING," I emphasized.

"Then give me the slipper." She held her hand out in front of me. "Hurry up."

I hesitated. "No."

"But you said ANYTHING!" she shouted, throwing my own emphasis back at me.

She had me. She was using my own words as a trap. I let out a defeated sigh and placed the slipper in her hand. She started jumping for joy immediately.

"You gave up!" she cheered.

"You used my words against me," I grumbled.

Suddenly, her face went serious. "Hands up and kneel."

"Again?" I asked, completely baffled. She nodded firmly. I sighed but dropped to the floor, raising my hands in the air.

"Now, apologize."

"For what?"

"For taking my slipper and for cheating!"

"I didn't cheat! I just didn't get distracted!" I insisted. She shook her head, unmoved. "Fine. I'm sorry."

"Add 'so' to it."

"I am soooooo sorry," I dragged out the word.

"That's better."

"Can I stand up now?" I asked, my knees starting to feel the hard floor.

"Nope."

"Why not?"

"Because I'm enjoying watching the bravest boy in school kneeling with his hands up in front of me," she teased.

We stayed like that for so long that my arms started to throb and my knees were aching. I let my hands drop just an inch, but she caught it immediately.

"Keep them up!"

"But they're aching," I groaned. She just shook her head. "Please?" I whispered, looking straight into her eyes, hoping my "puppy dog" look would finally work on her.

Jayjay'sPov

"Please?" he asked, giving me those puppy-dog eyes. He looked so genuinely cute that I couldn't keep up the act anymore. I signaled for him to get up, and he scrambled to his feet instantly.

He started rotating his shoulders, and I could see the slight wince on his face—he hadn't been lying about the aching. I felt a pang of guilt, so I stepped closer and took his arm, gently massaging the muscles. I did the same with the other arm, and the whole time, he didn't say a single word. He just stood there, staring at me with an expression I couldn't quite read.

I hate how much I love this guy. No matter how much of a jerk he is, I can't stop myself from worrying the second he's in pain.

"It's fine now," he said softly, but I shook my head and kept going. This was my fault, after all.

"Jayjay, stop before your own arms start to hurt," he said calmly. When I ignored him, he gently caught my hands in his to stop me. He led me over to the bed, and we both sat down.

"Why wouldn't you stop?" he asked, searching my face.

"Because I didn't want to," I mumbled.

"Oh, really? Well, now I don't want to stop," he teased.

"What do you mean?"

"I want to kiss you."

"No way! You already got two—actually three, because the cheek one counts!" I argued, standing up. "Now we have to go down and eat. I'm starving after all that drama."

He nodded, but as we walked toward the door, he turned to me. "You know, while you were sleeping, the boys actually drank."

I stopped dead in my tracks. "Really?" He nodded. "Everyone?" Another nod. My eyes narrowed. "Oh, they are so dead. I'm not letting them off the hook for this."

We headed downstairs together, but the moment we reached the dining area, it was total chaos. The boys were already there, loud and rowdy, but the second they saw us, the room went dead silent. Then, the smirks started.

"Well, well, look who finally decided to join the living," Felix teased, leaning back in his chair.

"You look well-rested, Jayjay," Yuri added, his eyes dancing with mischief. "The 'sleeping beauty' act really worked."

"Did you hug Keifer like you hug your Snorlax?" Ci-N asked, his voice dripping with fake innocence.

I didn't take their teasing seriously for a second. Why would I? They had lied to my face and gone behind my back the moment my eyes closed.

"SHUT UP!" I yelled, slamming my palm onto the table. The room went dead silent, and every single one of them looked at me in genuine shock. "I know exactly what you guys did while I was asleep!" I sat back, crossing my arms as they all raised their eyebrows. "You all drank. Liars." I shook my head in pure disappointment. "Fuck you all."

"Keifer! Jayjay is using profanity!" Ci-N squealed. The rest of them started laughing silently, looking down at their plates to avoid my gaze.

"I'm not saying anything," Keifer muttered, leaning away from me. "She's angry. She might actually kill me." I shot him a death glare, and he immediately pressed his index finger to his lips, sealing them shut.

"You all really thought I wouldn't find out?" I asked, looking around the table.

"Umm... it was Ci-N's plan," David blurted out. My eyes snapped to Ci-N. I had specifically said everyone except him could have a drink, and now he was the mastermind?

"Felix told me to!" Ci-N shouted, pointing a finger.

"Calix told me!" Felix countered.

"Drew told me!" Calix barked.

"Mayo told me!" Drew added.

"Kit told me!" Mayo claimed.

"Blaster told me!" Kit insisted.

"Eren told me!" Blaster yelled.

"Rory told me!" Eren pointed.

"Edrix told me!" Rory cried.

"Josh told me!" Edrix argued.

"Danzel told me!" Josh snapped.

"Eman told me!" Danzel said.

"Yuri told me!" Eman finished, pointing at the last man sitting.

I looked at Yuri. He just gave me a weak wave. "Hi," he said sheepishly.

"Damn your 'hi'! Stop saying each other's names and tell me who actually planned it!" I demanded.

"IT WAS CI-N!" they all yelled in unison.

I looked at the kid. He just gave me a cheeky smile. Since he was sitting right next to me, I lunged and grabbed him before he could bolt.

"You little troublemaker! You're the youngest one here and you planned the drinking?" I scolded, jokingly grabbing a handful of his hair. (Author: I grab my cousin's hair when he tease me or do something, so I decided to add this)

"Ahhhhh! Jay, that hurts!" he whined, and I finally let him go.

"You guys are grown men! Why didn't you stop the kid?" I asked the rest of the table. They all suddenly found their breakfast very interesting and looked down.

"Okay, enough scolding. C'mon, let's just eat," Keifer said, trying to play peacemaker. We all started eating, but whenever one of the Ulupongs tried to talk to me, I just shut them down with a "Don't talk to me" and went back to my food.

Once breakfast was over, everyone started heading back to their own houses. Keifer insisted on dropping me off. I told him I'd just call Aries, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. I finally gave up and climbed into the car, leaving the chaos of the mansion behind.
