Chapter 30 - Chapter Thirty-One — Obsession and Ashes

In the Caruso's estate, a certain room upstairs was dim, bathed in shadows and low golden light.

A soft sound broke the silence—breath, uneven, heated… followed by a moan of intense pleasure that belonged to Isabella. "Lucian…" It slipped from her lips like a secret, like a prayer, like a forbidden word.

The man above her stilled from his movement for half a second, confusion flickering across his face,—but she didn't notice or perhaps… She didn't care.

Isabella's eyes rolled back in pleasure, her lashes trembling faintly, her lips parted as the man slammed his hips in between her legs, her fingers curled tightly, not around him—but around an image that existed only in her mind.

Dark eyes, commanding presence, a handsome face and a sinful body that would make any woman off her panties and scream fuck me.

Lucian.

Her lips parted again, softer this time, almost like she was drunk. "Faster Lucian…" The name wasn't meant for the man touching her, but he groaned as he picked up his pace slamming into her like a wild beast, in the next moment Isabella closed her eyes as she screamed and her legs quiver followed by the man who groaned while shaking as they both reached their climax.

Moments later, a heavy silence settled in..Isabella's chest rose and fell before settling down. Slowly, her eyes opened, the haze faded as reality returned and just like that—everything disappeared. The warmth, the tension, the illusion, also, the pleasure.

Her gaze shifted lazily to the man beside her, there was no softness in her expression,no lingering emotion. Only boredom, followed by irritation.

She studied him for a brief moment, her head tilting slightly as if evaluating something utterly unremarkable. "…You can go." Her voice was calm. Flat. Dismissive.

The man blinked, clearly caught off guard. They had just had a good time even if she had clearly called him another man's name. "I—" A dull sound cut him off. His body dropped to the floor before he could finish.

Isabella didn't even look at him again. She simply turned her gaze toward the ceiling, one hand resting lightly against her lips as a slow smile curved them. But it wasn't a kind smile. It was something darker, something… unhinged. "I wonder what you'd taste like…" she murmured softly, her eyes fluttering shut again, her mind drifting to him, to the man she had met at a gala event, the man she had never touched, the man she wanted by all means.

Lucian Moretti.

Her smile deepened, as her fingers trailing slowly along her own arm as if imagining he was the one touching her. "You wouldn't look at me like that…" she whispered under her breath her voice softened… but her thoughts didn't. "But you would be mine." she grinned showing her beautiful white set of teeth. That thought alone made something flicker in her eyes. Excitement, possession and a very dark obsession. "I wonder…" she continued quietly, her tone dropping into something almost dangerous, "how long it would take for me finally have you."

She was in her own world when a soft knock interrupted her thoughts. Once. Twice. Isabella's eyes snapped open, annoyance flashed instantly, she knew who it was. Her head turned slowly toward the door, her gaze cold enough to freeze the air itself. "What is it… Lia."

The door opened just enough for a young woman in her early twenties to step in. Her assistant, Lia. Short brown hair that complemented her doe like brown eyes, plumpy and cute.

Her head remained lowered, her hands trembling slightly at her sides as she felt her glared dagger at her. "E-everything is ready, Miss."

It was silent for a short while before Isabella smiled. As if she had heard the most wonderful news. It was like music to her ears. She rose unhurried, from the bed without a word, her blond hair falling over her shoulders like fine silk, completely unbothered by her state.

The dim light traced over her smooth, unmarked skin, over the elegant lines and sharp curves that spoke not of softness—but of confidence. Every movement she made was deliberate, like a predator stretching after sleep.

Lia didn't dare look up, she didn't need to. Everyone who had met Isabella Caruso knew she was beautiful; she could take anyone's breath away just with a smile. But people who know her, knew that was the only good thing about her.

Isabella walked past her, barefoot against the marble floor, heading toward her wardrobe while humming softly in a quiet and playful tune as she moved. It only made Lia's hands shake more and the hair body stood.

Fabric shifted as Isabella selected a robe in deep blue color. She slipped into it slowly, taking her time adjusting it before tying. Her every movement was intentional.

When she turned back around, her eyes landed on Lia, the girl flinched. Then Isabella flashed an unsettling smiled at the assistant who looks like she might pass out any minute from now her eyes

She walked to her, her gaze never wandering away before she stopped right in front her.

Lia trembled violently. She was terrified of this woman.

"Send it out," she said smoothly. "Make sure it gets to Mr. Moretti." She tilted her head as her eyes gleamed. "And make it… special."

Lia nodded quickly, her voice barely above a whisper. "Y-yes, Miss."

"Good." Isabella waved her hand lazily."Now go."

Lia didn't need to be told twice. She hurried out and ran both hands through her hair. "Let's see how you react, Lucian…" she walked back to her bed, sitting on the edge of it she picked her phone by the lamp stand the light flashed on her face as she typed something on it.

In a few minutes, someone opened the door, she waved her hand at the man laying dead on the floor. "clean this up." Her voice was devoid of emotions, cold and empty.

The man nodded before carrying the body out.

Isabella crossed her legs together, using her hands to cup her cheeks, she sighed as she gazed at nothing in particular but you could see how her green eyes brightened in anticipation of what's to come in a few weeks.
