Chapter 44 - Mutual Exchange

Zenith was actually quite curious about exactly what the black mud carrying All the World's Evils was.

There were many differing opinions regarding the origins of the black mud, but a relatively common theory was that Angra Mainyu's soul had distorted the Holy Grail's functions.

Angra Mainyu was an ordinary person crowned with the title of All the World's Evils, and the Holy Grail had realized the expectations of that evil, giving birth to the black mud capable of corrupting Heroic Spirits and destroying humanity.

*'Good stuff. I want it.'*

Zenith's thought process differed somewhat from a normal person's. Even though the contents of the Holy Grail would slowly be drained completely into the Void, it wouldn't be too much to fill up two buckets before that happened, right?

Using the infinite water source method to obtain infinite amounts of All the World's Evils... Even though he didn't know what use it would have, his inner hoarder dictated that if he could get his hands on something, he absolutely had to grab a bunch of it.

Having secured what he wanted, the next step was to completely destroy the entire Heaven's Feel ritual, putting an end to the Holy Grail War's sixty-year cycle.

Magi wanted to use the Holy Grail's mechanism to reach the Root, but as it stood, over two hundred years of waiting had caused the Mage's Association to lose faith in this project. They hadn't sent anyone to stop Zenith at all.

The method to dismantle the ritual was also very simple. The easiest way was to just carpet-bomb the entire map.

Zenith was purely a practical user—he knew how things worked, but not why they worked. If someone actually asked him to explain the underlying principles of magic and magecraft step by step, he definitely couldn't do it.

Therefore, delicate work like finding the ritual's nodes and destroying them with precision was beyond him. He could only use the simplest and dumbest method.

Just raze the ground and blow up the mountain.

"The civilians nearby have all been evacuated, right? I'm going to start."

Zenith pulled out a Mana Burst Wand. Up until now, he hadn't successfully unleashed a Burst Mode attack even once. To finally get his wish this time, he had organized his inventory in advance and brought a full five of them.

The Mana Burst Wand only had a durability of 20. With five of them, he could unleash a full 100 burst magic attacks. Destroying a single Heaven's Feel barrier shouldn't be a big problem.

It began. A pillar of orange light shot into the sky, its center point being the peak of Mount Enzou, where Ryuudou Temple was located.

The sky suddenly changed. Burst Mode came with its own weather control, forcibly transforming the surrounding weather into a thunderstorm. Torrential rain poured down as lightning danced wildly.

Countless red magic circles materialized out of thin air around the pillar of light. After charging for a few seconds, they expanded into a sun that crashed down upon the earth—*BOOM!!*

An invisible shockwave spread out, and fierce winds raged. By the time everything settled, there was no trace of Ryuudou Temple left, and a massive chunk of the mountain peak had been sheared off.

Zenith placed a hand over his eyes, peering into the distance. "Hmm, still lacking a bit of punch. Let's try another ten shots first."

Ten consecutive shots later, Zenith had thoroughly enjoyed himself. The result was that the original Mount Enzou had now been reduced to a massive crater.

To prevent the area from looking too jarring, Zenith even spent some time filling the crater with water.

"From now on, we'll just call this Lake Enzou. I'll contact some people to build a replica of Ryuudou Temple right in the center of the lake. Once it's done, we can bring the head monk and the others back."

"It's just... over like that?"

Rin Tohsaka stared at the sparkling waters of Lake Enzou with complicated feelings. Originally, she had participated in the Holy Grail War to prove herself, but the actual process had been too unbearable to look back on.

The Holy Grail War was over. Berserker and EMIYA, still in their Heroic Spirit bodies, could no longer remain in the present world. Illya was currently saying goodbye to her big guy, while EMIYA had come to collect his debt from Zenith.

"...You're not going to give Rin Tohsaka a proper goodbye, and instead you're just focused on asking me for money?"

EMIYA let out a long sigh. "I have no choice. The moment you duck into that portal, Alaya can't find you. If Gilgamesh and Artoria weren't still here, I would've thought you were planning to dine and dash."

"Dine and dash? Impossible. I'm a man of great principles. But if you're going to accuse me like that, I wouldn't mind giving it a try."

Zenith chuckled, a sound that made EMIYA's hair stand on end. "My mistake, boss. Boss, how about we figure out how to do this handover?"

Given that the mana-charged diamonds couldn't be stacked, using Shulker Boxes or Chests to hold them wasn't suitable. After thinking it over, using Minecraft storage tools for this transfer really wouldn't work; it wasn't cost-effective.

So, Zenith procured a normal, small-sized steel shipping container from the JoJo world. The mana-charged diamonds themselves were only about the size of a fist, but to prevent them from colliding with each other, the people on the JoJo side had insisted on packing them individually into boxes, resulting in a much larger overall volume.

"What astonishing magical energy. I can feel it even through the container," EMIYA marveled. The others were also shocked by this massive source of mana.

"Alright, alright." After completing the handover, Zenith clapped his hands. "The Holy Grail War is officially over. What are you all planning to do? Are you going to live a shameless, degenerate life with Shirou?"

"Uncle!!!"

Shirou Emiya felt his uncle's words were far too indecent. What did he mean by a shameless, degenerate life? Sakura was his junior and his sister-in-law, Illya was his older sister, and only Rin Tohsaka was his officially designated wife. How was any of that shameless?

Souichiro Kuzuki planned to take a long leave of absence from the school and travel the world with Medea. Shirou and the others returned to their cozy little home. Zenith's place was large and luxurious, but at the end of the day, it wasn't as warm and inviting as their own house.

"Uncle, we'll come visit you when we have time."

They made him sound like some empty-nest senior citizen. Zenith curled his lip; he had things to do too.

The technological level on the Fate side was higher than on the JoJo side. Although the technology of 2004 wasn't exactly cutting-edge, it was still vastly superior to the ancient relics of the 1980s.

However, the Fate side didn't have a reliable organization like the Speedwagon Foundation, and Zenith didn't feel comfortable letting large numbers of people into the Overworld. Therefore, he planned to select an elite squad from the SPW to come to the Fate side for advanced training.

As for their identity issues, Zenith believed that even without his help, the SPW could handle it perfectly well. With the power of money paving the way, progress would naturally be even faster.

After tossing Saber and Gilgamesh into the Overworld, Zenith hadn't bothered with them anymore. Those two were planning to find a spot in the Overworld that caught their eye to build their own nations and city-states.

This was a massive undertaking. It definitely wouldn't be finished in a few years, or even a decade. If Zenith wanted to call on those two for help in the short term, it was absolutely out of the question.

He had pulled the golden SSR cards, but it felt no different than not pulling them at all. A decade was a long time, but for someone like Zenith who had conquered time itself, he would slowly get used to waiting.

"How did the Holy Grail War end just like that? Suddenly having all this free time is so boring."

Zenith was the only person left in the massive manor. He fiddled with his computer, thinking for a long time but still unable to figure out what new tricks he could play in this world.

*'Why hasn't it searched out a new world yet? I want the Middle Ages! I want a grand fantasy adventure! I want traditional swords and magic, not this flashy magecraft nonsense!'*

"I'll sacrifice my hair volume to make a wish—give me a new world!"

Zenith's expression suddenly froze. *'No, wait, that's not right! I was just joking, God of Hair! Don't touch my hair!'*

After quickly bowing in prayer and casually making the sign of the cross over his chest, Zenith finally opened the menu to see what world had been found.
