Cain walked over to Tara, who was now sleeping on the bed. He sat beside her and quietly watched her. The soft sound of Tara's breathing was the only thing that could be heard in the room. Cain stretched out his hand and gently caressed her face, studying her carefully to see if she was sleeping more comfortably. As soon as he noticed that she seemed to be feeling better, he smiled and lay down beside her, closing his eyes as well so he could sleep next to her. And just like that, the two of them slept on the same bed.
A few hours later, the sun had risen to a certain height, its bright rays gently finding their way through Tara's moderately heavy dark blue curtains. The sunlight fell on her eyes, causing her to squint at the sudden intrusion of light. However, she did not open her eyes immediately. Her eyelids fluttered for a few minutes before she finally opened them fully and looked towards the other side, where the sunlight could not shine directly into her eyes.
