Cain had been caressing Tara's cheek gently as he looked softly into her eyes. Unfortunately, the moment was cut short when they both heard a knock. Ananya's voice came from outside.
"Tara, is Cain in there?"
On hearing that, Tara snapped out of her daze and quickly pushed Cain's hand away. She walked toward the door to open it, only for Cain to grab her hand and pull her toward him. He caught her by the waist while holding her other hand. Tara's free hand rested on Cain's chest as they both looked into each other's eyes.
The knocking and voices quieted down.
"Let her be. She is irrelevant," Cain said nonchalantly.
Tara was stunned by what he said and tried to push him away, but he held her firmly and said logically, "We are still dating and haven't broken up, so girlfriend, why are you being so heartless to your man?" he asked with a playful smile.
Tara raised an eyebrow in shock and replied, "Mr. Woods, you—"
