Today, Tara woke up feeling much better—or at least better than she had been over the past few days. There was no dizziness, no weakness, and after spending a few hours without experiencing any of the symptoms that had been troubling her lately, she convinced herself that going to the hospital was no longer necessary. So, she decided not to go.
Tara was now sitting quietly in the living room, watching TV, when Cain descended the stairs. The moment he saw her, a smile appeared on his face.
"Hello, love," he greeted warmly.
Tara pretended not to hear him. Her eyes remained fixed on the television as though she were deeply focused on what she was watching.
Coincidentally, Mrs. Harriet walked in carrying a bowl of freshly cut fruits.
"Young miss, here are your fruits," Mrs. Harriet said politely.
Tara smiled softly at Harriet before taking the bowl and beginning to eat while continuing to watch TV.
