(Mael's POV)
"So she sent you, huh? Ren...." She said, "Tch.....why would she do that?"
"I figured it's because she believes you can help me control my power." I said, "And because she wanted to repay me."
"Your power...." She said, "Does that relate to the Okuri I sense within you?"
"Yes." I said
"What power do you have?" She asked
"Distorted Subjugation," I said
"Never heard of it." She said with a scowl, "What does it do?"
"I'm not sure." I said, "From what I can gather, I was able to absorb the Okuri into me, gaining their powers for myself. After the first one, I was faster and stronger. I felt that strength increase once again after the second one. I took in the rest after I killed them."
She tilted her head, "Your story tracks.....I guess." She said, "I sense that you're no ordinary human. Distortion is thick with you. Not only that, the spirits of the Okuri are quite noticeable...."
"Right...." I said, "Can you help me?"
She clicked her tongue, looking at the bears. I watched as the three bears growled as they walked away, as if they were disappointed that they did not get to rip me apart.
"I've never heard of Distorted Subjugation." She said, "But from the name, I assume you dominate the creature you're facing. And judging the fact that Ren sent you to me, it should be similar to Beast Taming."
"Yes." I said
She eyed me up and down, "You met Ren, then?"
"Yes." I said, "She was very kind to me."
"Hm." She turned around, "Did you treat her well?"
"Why wouldn't I?" I asked as she walked into the building
I stepped forward, making my way to the inside of the building, seeing that she had a mat set up in the middle. It was just like Ren's shrine, or at least similar to it. There was some paintings on the side of the walls, which were unlike Ren's place.
"I appreciate that you were good to my sister." She said, kneeling down, "Come, take a seat."
I sat down cross-legged in front of her, "W-Why is that?" I said, "Are people not kind to her?"
She stared at me for a couple of seconds, "Nevermind." she said, "So tell me, what happened with the Okuri?"
"Oh." I said, "Well, the thing is.....I reached towards the wolf and felt its entire body twist and mangle before it was absorbed into my arm."
I showed her my arm, to which she looked at the mark.
"Hm...." she said, "Is that mark related to this ability of yours?"
"No." I said, "It's.....different."
"Interesting." She said, "Well, if this ability of yours is any similar to Beast Taming, you can summon the Okuri."
"What?" I asked
"It's just a theory." She said, "Have you tried it?"
"No." I said
"You said you absorbed the strength of two of them. How many did you kill?" She asked
"8 in total." I responded
"So you have six of them dwelling in you." She said, giving me a serious stare, "If you can summon them, I can give you pointers on how to maintain control."
"I....I don't know how to do that." I said, "Can you teach me?"
"Beast Taming does not magically summon animals to aid the user." Tsuki said with a scowl, "They're not Shikigami."
I rubbed my hair, "Oh..." I said, "I didn't know that."
"Beast Taming is exactly what the name suggests; taming beasts." She said, "Using magic, the user can tame them and reinforce their abilities with said magic. The stronger the Beast Tamer, the stronger the Tamed Beasts. Okuri are Yokai but beast in nature, so if your power is similar to Shikigami-Magic, you can summon the Okuri and wield them in battle."
"Oh." I said, "Well..."
"We will have to find a way to summon them." She said, standing up, "Come."
"We try outside."
**********************
"That's right." She said, "Just focus on flowing your Distortion, mixed with your Magic Power and bring forth the beasts. Will them into this plane existence."
It had been an hour since we were trying to summon the Okuri. I made no progress, trying to make a similar command to activating the Distorted Subjugation or summoning the weapons. I didn't think it would be so complicated, much more complicated than those two methods.
I was holding my arms outwards, trying to flow the magic and "Distortion" outwards. I imagined that my body was filled with metaphysical water and I was trying to pour it out of my palms. Something must be working since Tsuki was giving me approving nods.
"Shit...." I said, sweating, "It's not as easy as the other abilities."
"What abilities?" She asked
I raised my left hand, "This one...."
"Arcus"
Suddenly, the bow appeared in my hand, which I held firmly and showed it to her. She tilted her head in curiosity.
"Hm..." She said, "You made a command and you summoned that, hm?"
"Yea...." I said
"Interesting." She said, "Have you tried doing that?"
"I have been doing that." I said with a frown, "It's not working."
"Try flowing the distortion and magic power while making the command." She said, "Go on."
I felt as my bow disappeared and I pointed my palms outwards, "Fine.." I said, "Here goes....."
"Come Forth.....Okuri...."
I felt a shift in my body, watching how a faint grey aura emitted from my feet.
"Wait...." I said, "It's.....working...?"
"Keep going, don't lose focus." She said
I gritted my teeth and poured all my focus in what she said, flowing my magic into my arms and trying to will the summons forth.
Suddenly, the Grey aura turned into smoke, and I heard a loud howl fill the air. I watched as a wolf's figure broke through the smoke.
"W-what...?" I said with surprise, "It worked!"
"Good...." Tsuki said as I saw the wolf slowly emerge fully, "That's quite good. And now for the hard part."
"Controlling it once it's summoned."
