I don't really know how to write this one. I just checked my phone to see the news that Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime, died.
Fucking hell. Shit has downright ruined my day because his voice has pretty much been with me my whole life since I was a kid. I've always been an avid Transformers fan, and I know there is an entire generation of kids who learned what a leader sounds like from him.
He once said that he based Optimus' voice on his brother, who was a Marine who told him to be strong enough to be gentle. He carried his brother's decency into every syllable, and millions of us grew up feeling something different about that voice. In my opinion, losing him is a loss for every person in the world of Science Fiction.
And he was so humble too.
