Chapter 76 - PART 76 — The Way Reality Starts Closing In

The night didn't end.

Not for them.

Even after everything—

the post,

the teasing,

the almost moments—

something still felt unfinished.

📱 Phone lights up

Pixel looked at the screen.

Stephan — Video Call

Her heartbeat reacted instantly.

"…Why is he calling?" she whispered.

But she picked it up.

📹 Call Connected

Silence.

Just them.

Looking at each other.

Like the whole day—

was still there.

"You're awake," Stephan said softly.

"So are you."

A faint smile.

"Couldn't sleep?"

She looked away slightly.

"…No."

"Same."

Silence again.

But not empty.

Comfortable.

Real.

"You saw the post?" he asked.

She tried to act normal.

"…Maybe."

A small smirk.

"You did."

She didn't deny it.

"…You didn't have to post that."

"I wanted to."

That answer—

simple.

But heavy.

"And what if people talk?" she asked.

"They already are."

A pause.

"I don't care."

Her heart softened.

Because somehow—

that made her feel safe.

"But I do," she admitted quietly.

Stephan looked at her.

Carefully.

Then—

softly—

"I'll handle it."

That tone.

Calm.

Certain.

It wasn't dramatic—

but it felt strong.

"…You always say things like that," she whispered.

"And you still overthink."

She rolled her eyes.

"Stop saying that."

"Then stop doing it."

A small silence.

Then—

she smiled.

Just a little.

"Today was nice," she said.

"It was."

A pause.

"…Too nice."

He frowned slightly.

"What does that mean?"

She looked at him.

"…It feels like something is going to ruin it."

Silence.

Because that thought—

felt real.

Stephan leaned closer to the screen.

"Nothing's ruining it."

Her breath slowed.

Because she wanted to believe that.

"…Okay."

Neither of them disconnected.

"You hang up."

"No, you."

A faint smile.

"…Goodnight, Pixel."

Her heart skipped.

"…Goodnight."

The call ended.

But the feeling didn't.

Morning — Where Everything Changes

Stephan walked into the house.

Calm.

Composed.

But the atmosphere—

felt different.

Because his parents—

were back.

The house felt colder.

More controlled.

"Stephan."

His mother's voice.

Sharp.

He turned.

"Yes, mom."

She walked toward him.

Elegant.

Perfect.

But her eyes—

observing.

"I heard something."

Silence.

"The maid said…"

A pause.

"…you brought a girl home."

Stephan didn't react much.

"Yes."

No hesitation.

No denial.

His mother studied him.

"For what purpose?"

That question—

wasn't casual.

It was calculated.

"If it was for timepass…"

She continued calmly.

"…then it's fine."

Silence.

Because that line—

felt wrong.

But she wasn't done.

"Boys your age…"

"…it's normal."

Stephan's jaw tightened slightly.

But he stayed quiet.

Then—

his father spoke.

From behind.

"Your mother is right."

Stephan turned.

His father stood there.

Calm.

Cold.

Practical.

"You can enjoy with anyone you want."

A pause.

"As much as you want."

💥

The words landed heavily.

"But don't forget one thing."

His voice hardened slightly.

"You're going to marry Natasha."

The air shifted instantly.

Heavy.

Real.

"She's the daughter of a business tycoon."

His mother added—

"This alliance matters."

Stephan didn't move.

Didn't react immediately.

But something inside him—

changed.

"That girl…"

His mother continued—

"…don't get attached."

Silence.

Because now—

this wasn't a warning.

It was a boundary.

A rule.

"You understand, right?" his father said.

A pause.

"Don't complicate things."

Stephan looked at them.

Calm on the outside.

But inside—

not the same.

"…I understand," he said.

But his voice—

wasn't completely steady.

Meanwhile — Pixel

Pixel sat quietly.

Phone in her hand.

Looking at nothing.

But feeling something.

Something off.

Something she couldn't explain.

Her heart—

wasn't calm.

Even though everything was fine.

Or maybe—

it wasn't.

Ending Hook

Because sometimes—

love doesn't get tested by distance.

It gets tested by reality.

By expectations.

By decisions made before you even had a choice.

And the scariest part?

It had just begun.
