Chapter 496 - Chapter 31: One Hour

Tokyo Colony 1

Takeru and Takaba stood across from each other.

The rest of the group watched from a safe distance.

Takeru raised his fists.

"Ready?"

Takaba grinned.

"Ready!"

BOOM!

They rushed forward.

Takeru threw the first punch.

Takaba ducked.

Takeru followed with a kick.

Takaba jumped over it.

THUD!

Takaba landed a punch against Takeru's shoulder.

Takeru slid backward.

"Not bad."

Takaba grinned.

"I've been practicing!"

They charged again.

Punch.

Block.

Kick.

Dodge.

Counter.

The fight continued.

Then Takaba suddenly paused.

He looked at Takeru.

"…Wouldn't it be funny if you slipped right now?"

Takeru's foot immediately slid.

SKID!

Takeru stumbled.

"…Seriously?"

Takaba burst out laughing.

"It worked!"

Takeru recovered.

"Okay."

He rushed forward.

"I'm getting you back for that."

BAM!

Takeru landed a punch.

Takaba went flying.

He crashed through a vending machine.

Takaba slowly stood up.

"…Wouldn't it be funny if that vending machine started chasing you?"

The vending machine suddenly rattled.

Takeru stared.

"…No."

The vending machine charged.

"WHY?!"

Takaba laughed hysterically.

The machine chased Takeru down the street.

Yuji stared.

"…Can he actually do that?"

Higuruma sighed.

"Yes."

Nanami adjusted his tie.

"Unfortunately."

Takeru eventually turned around.

"Fine!"

He punched the vending machine.

BOOM!

It flew away.

Takaba clapped.

"That's hilarious!"

The spar continued.

Thirty minutes.

Takeru's clothes were dusty.

Takaba was breathing heavily.

Then Takaba smiled.

"Wouldn't it be funny if we were both wearing giant mascot costumes?"

POOF.

Suddenly—

Takeru was wearing a massive panda costume.

Takaba was wearing an enormous chicken costume.

Silence.

Takeru looked down.

"…Why am I a panda?"

Takaba looked at himself.

"…Why am I a chicken?"

They stared at each other.

Then both started laughing.

The fight continued.

Forty minutes.

Fifty minutes.

Takaba occasionally altered tiny things.

The ground became extremely slippery.

A random traffic cone appeared on Takeru's head.

The sky briefly turned into a giant cartoon backdrop.

A flock of pigeons began cheering.

Takeru somehow kept fighting through all of it.

Finally—

BEEP.

One hour.

Takeru stopped.

"Time."

Takaba lowered his fists.

"…That was fun."

Takeru nodded.

"Yeah."

He looked at the destroyed street.

The broken vending machine.

The random traffic cones.

The enormous chicken costume still covering Takaba.

"…We may have caused some problems."

Takaba looked around.

"Wouldn't it be funny if everything was fixed?"

POOF.

Everything returned to normal.

Takeru stared.

"…I hate how useful that is."

Takaba laughed.

"Same!"
