Chapter 435 - Chapter 9: “Paperwork Problems”

The airport outside Shibuya was loud, even at night.

But inside the temporary holding area the group had set up, things were calmer.

Too calm.

That kind of calm that always felt temporary.

Aika crossed her arms immediately.

Raiden sat on a bench like he owned it.

And Sukuna looked personally offended by the concept of waiting.

Ryomen Sukuna

Aika was the first to speak.

"…Why couldn't we come on the plane?"

Raiden nodded.

"…Yeah. That felt like discrimination."

Sukuna scoffed.

"…I should not be excluded from anything."

Takeru didn't even look up from adjusting his sleeve.

"…You guys don't have passports."

A pause.

"…Plus y'all are from Heian or before."

Silence.

Raiden blinked.

"…That's not how borders work."

Aika leaned forward.

"…That's not how ANYTHING works."

Sukuna narrowed his eyes.

"…I have existed longer than your entire system."

Takeru shrugged.

"…Still no passport."

Dead silence.

Yuji just slowly covered his face.

Yuji Itadori

"…I can't believe this is the reason."

Megumi muttered from the side.

Megumi Fushiguro

"…Somehow this is the most normal explanation we've had."

Hakari leaned back.

Kinji Hakari

"…I hate that I understand it."

Later — Temporary Rooms

The night had fully settled in now.

Streetlights outside casting long shadows through the curtains.

Takeru changed in silence.

His usual outfit returning:

tight long-sleeved black shirt, baggy white training pants (nikka-pokka), black martial arts slippers, and a long white haori fastened neatly.

He checked the room once.

Then spoke quietly.

"…It's late."

A pause.

"…Manifesting them."

Aika appeared first, arms still crossed.

Raiden next, stretching like nothing had happened.

And Sukuna last, already annoyed he had been "summoned" for sleep.

Ryomen Sukuna

Sukuna clicked his tongue.

"…You better not get used to this."

Takeru ignored him completely.

Yuji had already flopped onto a futon.

Megumi followed shortly after, without a word.

Aika sat down carefully.

Raiden leaned against the wall.

Sukuna stayed standing just to be difficult.

But even he eventually sat.

Silence filled the room.

Not tense.

Just exhausted.

Takeru lay down last.

Arms behind his head.

Eyes half-lidded.

"…We move tomorrow."

No one responded.

Not because they disagreed.

Because they didn't need to.

Fred, somewhere unseen, placed a final note on the door:

"Rest period initiated. Probability of chaos: pending."

And slowly—

the room went quiet.
