Rain still fell, but lightly now, the earlier violence of the storm reduced to something the trees could handle without bending. The fight between the two of them had created havoc around the Aru'kha, and the land was still recovering from the impact.
Jake stood in a small clearing with Ruki beside him, her eyes fully clear now, the trance gone, and she was catching up on what happened in the past few weeks.
Her sisters stood by her; they had already told her about what happened and why they were here and who Jake was. She was mesmerized by Jake after listening to them. Because a young man she didn't know had come to rescue her, and he did, and he was younger than her.
