Chapter 101: ministry wanted to use Hagrid as scapegoat
It is said that the targeted magic beast that is doing all these things is the pet of Hagrid that is an Acromantula, who he has seemingly named Aragog. But based on the investigation done by Jack and facts stated by Jack before, the magical beast should be a basilisk.
Knows this Harry was confused and the plot started to correct itself with a thought emerging in the mind of Harry. That is Jack actually spoke like that to divert the plot and he is the one that is pulling the strings.
At the same time, he even doubted Hagrid being in the same side of Jack, secretly controlling those magical spiders to cause trouble. Also they conveniently told a snake story to push the blame to him as he possesses the ability to speak to snakes.
Now with doubts, he wants to check some things. That is to verify if what Jack said is true or not. This is because he believes that Jack might be the heir to Slytherin because of the nonsense from Ron that is like a red devil constantly blowing in his ears.
So Harry stated this matter to Ron and Hermione and then they started to investigate. It started with going to Hagrid to speak about the incident 50 years ago. Jack did not go along with them right now.
Jack has other plans for this matter. As he has time on his hand he went to play with the girls as today is Valentine's Day. He got chocolate from Rita Skeeter which is slightly inclined to a different taste of lemon rather than towards pure chocolate taste.
Also he got chocolate from Narcissa which is strange. This is a bitter chocolate that has sweet taste mixed in from time to time. The blend is not quite right. May be she just learnt this and made the chocolate to send it to Jack.
Well Jack was really happy to get so many things. He has to prepare for the day of the return gifts with return gifting chocolates to all the girls he liked and gave him chocolates. He did not forget Hermione that sent the box of chocolate without her name.
But he can easily recognize her hand writing. She was proud about her idea and did not think about the logical part of identifying her hand writing. This is the problem with the wizards. They always ignore the logical part of most of the things.
If they thought of the logical part of the situations, most of the incidents in the Harry potter series plot would have been solved directly. There will be no drama or story in it. Everything originates from their stupidity and inaction.
It is just like questioning the first victim of the chamber of secrets to know its exact location instead of blindly searching for that. They have enough power and magic spells to make a soul speak the truth.
But they would not do such a simple thing to solve the head ache. They are simply stupid. Even calling them stupid is an insult to the stupid people. Their stupidity did not have anything to do with Jack.
He has his own agenda. As long as other people could help him that is enough. Jack has already made preparations of the white day to return the Valentine's Day gifts to all of his women.
With that settled he became free. During the next month nothing strange happened and everything is normal. But Jack did not dare to call his women to find him this time. It was dangerous.
The problem here is he cannot kill or capture the basilisk. As an external character he would most likely die if he tries anything funny. Also he cannot give them any more hints because he is already feeling that something is staring at him.
So he cannot do anything other than these stupid people piece together the things and finally eliminate the basilisk. When they are done killing he can go there and collect the things he wanted.
Jack would go around doing his experiments during this time. He is not afraid of facing the basilisk as he knows how to hide. He has the original invisibility cloak that can mask his presence even in front of death.
Even though it is an exaggerated claim, it has some credibility. The most important point everyone would ignore is that this is an invisibility cloak and it can make you invisible, this did not mean that it can mask your smell and sound.
If others found you out, it means that you made some noise and you smell more. Only by covering these two things like sound and smell one can truly become invisible even after using the invisibility cloak.
The time passed by quickly till it was may 8th.
That day three big incidents happened. First incident is about Hermione granger and Penelope Clearwater has been petrified just like the cat of caretaker flitch. Even though Jack made effort they still got attacked just like in the plot.
Yes they did not forget the fact that there is danger here. Instead of canceling the school they kept them as bait to catch the basilisk or some other creatures as they are lazily searching for the creature without making much actually effort.
Upon enquiry Jack found that they would receive extra money for doing field work. So the more days they spend on the case the more they earn. The food and other things are free at Hogwarts as they came here to help them.
All in all, they are dragging things for so long for money and benefits without a care for the life and death of others. They are not responsible. They can simply push the blame to others or dead people without a care.
Unfortunately, Jack could not sit still. After all this time his women became victims. He has to do something. So he deliberately made those lazy people see the reflection of the basilisk 'ACCIDENTALLY'.
