Chapter 10 - Seeds of Doubt

Adrian woke up slowly in his own bed, the morning light filtering through the curtains. For a moment he stared at the ceiling, a faint sense of melancholy settling over him.

He had woken up here alone.

He remembered how, after the intense night with Ayano, he still had to force himself to slip back to his own room instead of simply staying and sleeping beside her. The frustration with Miyuri also still lingered in his chest.

That teasing "just a kiss and a blowjob" reward had left him pent-up and restless. In his impatience, he hurried straight to Ayano without thinking clearly, almost getting caught by Takashi in the process.

Even though Ayano's affection had already reached Absolute Devotion, letting himself be careless and impatient like that was unacceptable. It was a mistake he couldn't afford to repeat.

'I understand now that I lack something crucial if I want to be patient.' He thought, staring at the empty side of the bed. 'I need someone who I can fuck whenever I can't hold myself back anymore. A safe, reliable outlet. Someone who won't cause problems and someone absolutely devoted when the urge hits hard.'

He lay there for a few more moments, letting the realization settle. Pleasure was his ultimate goal, but he needed better control if he wanted to enjoy it without unnecessary risks.

…..

….

..

.

The bell rang, marking the end of the first quarter. Adrian chatted a bit with his classmates before standing up to immediately begin searching for Natsuha.

He found her near the shoe lockers, still looking shaken from yesterday's incident. Her eyes were slightly red, and she clutched her bag tightly to her chest.

"Natsuha." He called gently, walking up with a warm, concerned smile. "Are you okay? You still look a little pale."

She turned, and her expression softened the moment she saw him. "Adrian-kun… Thank you again for yesterday. If you hadn't come…" Her voice trailed off, and she looked down, embarrassed.

Adrian gave her a gentle smile and kept his tone light at first. "You don't have to thank me again. I'm just glad I was there. How are you holding up today? Classes been okay?"

Natsuha nodded slowly, fiddling with the strap of her bag. "Classes are fine… but I've been feeling really lonely lately. Yuuta's been so busy catching up with classes and club stuff. We barely see each other anymore."

Adrian stepped closer, using just a hint of Suggestive Words to plant a small seed of comfort and attraction. "That must be tough. You deserve someone who makes time for you." His voice was gentle, reassuring. "If you ever want to talk or just get some fresh air, I'm here."

Natsuha blushed lightly. "Thank you… really."

Adrian smiled. "Actually, I was thinking… would you like to hang out after school? There's a quiet café near the school gate. No pressure, just to take your mind off things."

She hesitated for only a second, then nodded, cheeks turning a deeper pink. "Okay. I'd like that."

"Great. Meet me there after class?" He said, giving her the name and exact location.

Natsuha agreed, still blushing, and hurried off to her next class.

The moment she was gone, Adrian pulled out his phone and messaged Kurumi.

Adrian: Café near the school gate. The one I told you about. It's happening there. Be ready.

Soon school ended.

Adrian met Natsuha at the gate and they walked together to the café. Their conversation started light, about school life, clubs, silly stories about teachers. Adrian made her laugh with a couple of jokes, and gradually she relaxed, her smile becoming more genuine.

"You know." He said casually as they sat down with their drinks, "your boyfriend is really lucky to have someone like you. But also kind of rude, if I'm being honest. If I had a girl as pretty and kind as you, I'd spend every possible moment with her."

Natsuha's face turned bright red. "S-stop saying things like that…"

Adrian just smiled softly. "It's true though." He let the compliment hang for a second, then smoothly changed the subject before it got too heavy.

"Anyway, how's the karate club going? You mentioned you're pretty good at aikido too."

They kept talking, the atmosphere warm and comfortable. Natsuha was clearly enjoying herself.

Then the café door opened, walking in someone she didn't expect to see.

Kurumi walked in, dressed differently. Her hair is tied in a neat bun, light makeup, a cute casual outfit that made her look older and more mature.

She was dragging Yuuta by the hand, pulling him along like she owned him. Whenever Yuuta tried to pull away, she simply yanked him forward again, guiding him firmly toward a table.

Natsuha's eyes widened in shock the moment she saw them.

"Yuuta…?" She whispered, voice cracking.

Yuuta froze, face going pale when he saw Natsuha sitting with Adrian.

Kurumi, still holding his hand tightly, smiled sweetly but with clear malice. "Oh? Isn't that your girlfriend, Yuuta? Funny running into her here."

Natsuha's voice was shaky at first, barely above a whisper. "Yuuta… What are you doing here with her? You told me yesterday you were too busy catching up with classes…"

Yuuta's face shifted from surprise to defensive denial. "It's not what it looks like! She just dragged me here! I didn't plan this!"

Kurumi stood beside him with a sweet but poisonous smile, adding softly, "He's been so stressed lately, Natsuha-chan. I was only trying to help him relax a little."

Natsuha's hands tightened on her bag. "Relax…? While I've been waiting for you every day? You said you didn't have time for me, but you have time for this?"

Yuuta's tone sharpened, guilt turning into anger. "You're making it sound worse than it is! You're always complaining about how lonely you are, but look at you! Sitting here with some random guy like it's a date! What the hell is that supposed to mean?!"

The volume rose quickly. Natsuha's voice broke as tears started falling. "Because you've been ignoring me for weeks! You keep saying you're busy with classes and club stuff, but you never make any time for me anymore!"

Yuuta fired back louder, face red. "I'm trying to catch up because I got held back! You think it's easy?! And now you're crying in public with some guy you barely know?! Maybe you're the one who's been looking for attention this whole time!"

Kurumi couldn't resist adding more fuel, her voice dripping with fake sympathy. "Natsuha-chan, you really shouldn't blame him. He's been working so hard. Maybe if you weren't so clingy and needy all the time, he wouldn't have to look for comfort somewhere else~"

That was the breaking point.

Natsuha's shoulders shook as the accusations and excuses flew back and forth faster and louder. Tears streamed freely down her face. "Clingy?! I waited for you every single day! I turned down so many things just to be there for you! And this is how you repay me?!"

Yuuta shouted back, "You're the one making a scene right now! Maybe if you trusted me more instead of jumping to conclusions—"

"I can't do this anymore!" Natsuha cried, voice cracking completely.

She grabbed her bag and rushed out of the café, tears flowing down her cheeks as the door slammed behind her.

Adrian waited a few seconds, letting the drama settle, then stood up calmly. "I'll go after her."

Yuuta looked torn, his feet shifting like he wanted to bolt after Natsuha, mouth already opening to call her name. But Kurumi's fingers tightened around his wrist, her nails digging in just enough to make him flinch.

"Yuuta," she whispered sweetly, leaning in so her breath brushed his ear, "don't. She's just overreacting again. You've been working so hard… you deserve someone who actually understands you, not someone who makes everything about her feelings."

Yuuta hesitated, jaw clenching. His eyes darted toward the café door where Natsuha had disappeared, then back to Kurumi's soft, coaxing smile. Slowly, his shoulders slumped. He stayed put.

'Yes… I'm not wrong.' He thought, the words echoing in his head.

Adrian found Natsuha in a small park nearby, sitting alone on a swing, crying quietly.

Adrian sat down on the swing beside her, the chains creaking softly under his weight. He didn't rush to speak. He simply reached out and wrapped a strong arm around her trembling shoulders, pulling her gently against his side.

Natsuha stiffened for a moment, then slowly leaned into him, her face buried against his chest as quiet sobs continued to shake her body.

"It's okay." He murmured softly, his voice low and soothing. "You don't have to hold it in. Let it out. I'm right here."

Natsuha's voice came out shaky and broken between sniffles. "I… I waited for him every single day… I turned down club activities, I stayed late just so I could see him… and he… he was with someone else!"

Adrian rubbed slow, comforting circles on her back. "I know. You didn't deserve that. Not after how much you cared. He should have made time for you."

She lifted her head slightly, eyes red and glistening with fresh tears as she looked at him. "Why does it hurt so much, Adrian-kun…? I thought… I thought he loved me… Am I really just being too clingy?"

Adrian shook his head gently, his thumb brushing away a tear from her cheek with slow, tender care.

"No. You weren't being clingy at all. You were being someone who actually cared. Someone who showed up, who waited, who made time even when it was hard. That's not a bad thing, Natsuha. He's the one who messed up, not you. You deserved better than being left feeling this way."

Natsuha's lips trembled as she looked at him, fresh tears slipping down her cheeks. "But… What if I wasn't enough? What if I did something wrong…?"

"You didn't." Adrian said softly, his voice steady and reassuring as he kept his arm around her shoulders, holding her close.

"You gave him everything you could. Sometimes people just don't appreciate what they have until it's gone. You're kind, you're strong, and you're beautiful inside and out. Don't let his mistakes make you doubt yourself."

Their eyes met.

For a long moment, neither of them spoke. The air between them grew thick and heavy, charged with all the emotions that had been building since yesterday. The fear, the loneliness, the quiet comfort, and something deeper neither wanted to name yet.

Natsuha's breath hitched, her gaze flickering between his eyes and his lips. Adrian's thumb gently stroked her cheek one last time.

Then they leaned against each other.

Their lips touched gently at first, soft and comforting, like a quiet promise.

Natsuha's eyes fluttered shut as she melted into it, her small hands clutching the front of his shirt. What began as solace quickly deepened. Their lips pressed harder, parting as tongues met in a slow, exploratory dance. Breaths mingled, growing heavier and more urgent. The kiss turned passionate and hungry, wet and needy, filled with all the emotions that had been building between them.

Natsuha let out a small, shaky moan into his mouth before she suddenly pulled back, face flushed bright red and breathing ragged.

"Wait… I can't…" She whispered, voice trembling. "I'm still… I'm still Yuuta's girlfriend…"

Adrian looked at her softly, his thumb gently stroking her cheek. "I know. I'm sorry. I got carried away." He paused, then added with quiet sincerity. "But I won't lie… I won't give up on you, Natsuha."

She blushed deeply, looking away. "You'll… you'll regret it."

Adrian smiled, the corner of his lips curving with a slightly darker, possessive edge.

"I will not. Most definitely."
