"How come you are not running with them?" I asked, watching the last of the wolves disappear into the tree line.
Phoenix lifted the armrest between us and wrapped his arm around my shoulder in one easy motion. "I wanted to be here with you. And we need to talk strategy on the journey, I am afraid. We have roughly ten hours until the fights begin and we need to use the time well."
I frowned but nodded. "How long is the bus journey?"
He looked through the large front windscreen as a wolf climbed into the driver's seat and settled in. "Five or six hours depending on fuel. We may need to stop."
