Chapter 158 - Chapter 157 Alliance

"My patience has its limits. I hope you won't make me lose it." Aerynni tried hard to restrain her anger. Being insulted by a lowly Half-Elf, she was already managing her emotions quite well by merely holding back.

Of course, expecting her to have a pleasant expression right now was even more impossible.

She grabbed Eriko's hand and used a small knife to cut a deep gash into the girl's palm. Although she had previously said she would only take a single drop of blood, in reality, she took much more than that.

The blood flowing from the wound almost dyed the knife in Aerynni's hand red. Eriko frowned tightly, her body trembling continuously due to the pain.

"That's hardly just a drop," Letitia spoke up.

While speaking, she walked over to Eriko and rescued her hand from Aerynni's grip.

Looking at the wound on Eriko's hand that stretched almost across her entire palm and was still bleeding, Letitia glanced at Aerynni with some dissatisfaction. "The Elf Race is really petty."

"It's just for the sake of accuracy," Aerynni retorted. She stared intently at the knife in her hand. If Eriko was the Half-Elf she was looking for, the knife would turn green.

But after waiting for a long time, the knife remained as silvery and bright as before, showing no signs of changing color at all.

Not her? Aerynni glanced at Eriko.

Eriko gathered her courage and glared back.

"Hmph, I hope you can hide here forever." Knowing that this Half-Elf was not the person she was looking for, Aerynni couldn't be bothered to waste any more time here. There would be plenty of opportunities to deal with this Half-Elf later; there was no need to rush.

Right now, the most important thing was to talk to Malanie. Their deal was that if Eriko was not the Half-Elf Aerynni was looking for, then Melanie would do her best to help Aerynni's side find that Half-Elf.

"Goodbye." With a cold face, Aerynni slammed the door and left.

"Sigh, these elves." Luna shook her head. "Well then, I'll leave this place to you two."

She took a roll of bandages out of her pocket and placed it on the table.

"Luna, you carry this kind of thing with you?" Letitia was a bit surprised.

"Hehehe." Luna squinted her eyes and smiled, not answering Letitia's question. "I still have to keep an eye on that elf, I'm leaving now."

"Mhm, go on then." Letitia nodded.

"Goodbye." Luna walked out of the room.

Then, Letitia looked at Eriko and discovered that the girl was also looking at her.

"Why are you looking at me? Are you still expecting me to bandage you up?"

Eriko's face flushed red, and she stammered, "I... I don't know how."

"As if I know how either." Letitia pouted. "Just wrap it up however, and when Candice is free later, let her apply some medicine for you."

"Oh." Eriko lowered her head, picked up the bandage, and intended to wrap up the wound.

But with only one hand that could move, she tried for a long time but couldn't pull the bandage out.

Not only could she not pull out the bandage, but the table was also dirtied by the blood flowing from her hand.

Letitia watched for a few minutes and really couldn't stand watching Eriko's clumsy appearance any longer. "You're just too clumsy."

"I'm sorry." Eriko shrunk her neck like a frightened little rabbit, not daring to speak.

Letitia picked up the bandage and casually wrapped it around Eriko's hand a few times, managing to stop the bleeding.

"But you were actually quite imposing when you were cursing earlier. What's wrong, are you not afraid of elves anymore?" After finishing the bandaging, Letitia tossed the bandage aside and asked casually.

"I just wanted to make myself not so afraid," Eriko explained in a low voice. "I... I'm still very scared."

But when she cursed those elves, she would become less afraid.

"Actually, you are the Half-Elf they are looking for, aren't you?" Letitia looked at Eriko and suddenly said, "You might be able to deceive others, but you can't deceive me. You are very scared, but you aren't afraid of that elf."

"You are afraid of being exposed and then returning to that hell."

"I..."

"Evangeline, have you heard of this name?" Letitia softly spoke a name.

Eriko's expression showed a flash of panic, but she quickly hid this trace of panic under confusion. "Is this... the name of the Elf Empress?"

"Mhm, she is like you, a Half-Elf. Among the Half-Elves I know of, only she is worth the Elf Race making such a big fuss." Letitia said while staring at Eriko's face. "I have a bold guess."

"What?" Eriko felt her heart was about to jump out of her chest. Letitia's words were like bullets, shattering her mental defenses one by one.

"You are Evangeline, the Empress of the Elf Race," Letitia said calmly.

"How could I be?" Eriko's panic could finally no longer be concealed. Cold sweat broke out on her forehead, drop after drop. Just by looking at this reaction, Letitia felt that her guess was almost certainly correct.

It really was her.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone else about this." Miss Demon King said with a grin. "Whether you are Evangeline or not doesn't really mean much to me, but I would be very happy to provide you with some help."

"I... I don't understand." Eriko shook her head.

"You don't like the Elf Race, and I don't like the Elf Race either. If you want to trip up the Elf Race, I can help you." Letitia patted Eriko's shoulder, indicating that as long as you are unhappy with the Elf Race, we are forever good sisters.

The best way to overcome fear is to face it bravely. If Eriko made the Elf Race suffer a few setbacks, wouldn't her psychological trauma naturally dissipate?

Who would be afraid of someone who has suffered a few setbacks at their hands?

By that time, Eriko would probably be wishing for the elves to run in front of her so she could take action.

"I... can I?" Eriko swallowed hard.

Thinking that she could make those hypocritical, hateful green-hairs break their composure made her feel very satisfied.

Letitia's thinking was actually correct. Psychological trauma is very difficult to eliminate just by talking about it, but Eriko was very lucky; her psychological trauma was materialized, which was the Elf Race themselves.
