"Hey, you with the surname York, give me your manga website account." Making the call to Melanie, even though she was asking for Malanie's help, Leticia's tone wasn't exactly polite.
This made Melanie, on the other end of the line, feel a slight urge to tease this young girl. "What do you want to do with my account?"
"Read manga, what's it to you?" Leticia answered naturally.
"Which one?"
"The one you've read." Having been this explicit, Leticia felt that Melanie couldn't possibly fail to guess which manga she was talking about.
Melanie thought for a while, but simply couldn't guess which one Leticia was referring to; after all, it couldn't be said that the manga she had read were few—in fact, there were quite a lot.
"Which one specifically? I read quite a lot of manga, and I use several websites."
"That one, 'Campus Lily Blossoms'." Leticia's eyes flickered. She really didn't have any impression of the other ones; perhaps it was because this title had left such a deep impression on her?
Just this one having 'lily' directly in the title—Leticia, a girl with quite a rich knowledge base, of course knew what that meant.
As for the others, their names were cryptic, and who knows what kind of story they were trying to tell.
They weren't nearly as attractive as the one she had just read.
The name Leticia blurted out made Melanie give a soft "ah." So, it was that manga.
"Is it that one? I did indeed buy the whole thing."
"Mm-hmm, hurry up and give me the account, give it to me, give it to me."
"But why should I give it to you?" Melanie asked with a mischievous smile. "We are enemies, you know. That's what you said, right? You wouldn't go back on your word, would you?"
You have the nerve to say that! Leticia was furious. Just yesterday she had held her in her arms and said how much she liked her, and today she was already turning her back on her.
Too scummy.
This Melanie is definitely a scumbag.
"You held me and slept for the whole night last night, and I haven't even asked you for compensation yet!" Leticia immediately brought up last night's events as a bargaining chip.
She had helped Melanie twice in a row, and yet now that she was asking this person for a favor, she was making excuses. It was infuriating.
Once Leticia brought this up, Melanie duly raised her hands in surrender. "Can one manga really make you sleep with me for a whole night?"
"No, it's one account for it." Leticia huffed. She wasn't that cheap, okay? "And if it weren't for the fact that I have no money, I wouldn't have let you off so easily."
The Demon Lord didn't have any pocket money at all.
Having to bow for a few pecks of rice was truly humiliating for her.
"I know, I know. Miss Leticia is a girl of high moral character. I am just voluntarily lending my account to Miss Leticia for her use." Melanie's mood seemed quite good. "Send me the QR code; once I scan it for you, you can log in."
"I feel like you were just mocking me," Leticia said gloomily.
"That's just your imagination." Melanie rested her chin on her hand, watching the scenery flash by outside the car window, the corners of her mouth slightly lifted. "Hurry up, I won't have time later."
"Oh, wait a second, I'll send it to you." What was Melanie doing? Leticia didn't care much. The things a Miss Sword Saint had to do were neither too many nor too few, but they certainly weren't scarce.
Even though she was retired, she had only recently learned about things related to the gods, so it was quite normal for Melanie to be a bit busy these days.
She could be considered the biggest trump card on the human side; without her, humans in front of gods would just be dough, to be kneaded however they pleased.
With her around, they could at least put up some resistance.
After hanging up the phone and sending the login QR code to Melanie, a dozen seconds later, Leticia saw the login successful prompt appear on the screen.
What surprised Leticia was that Melanie hadn't just bought all the manga chapters; she had also tipped the author.
And the amount tipped was not small either.
It was ranked quite high on the tipping leaderboard, although for Malanie, this money was probably just pocket change.
However, looking at these numbers, Leticia, a wealthy pauper, still felt a wave of jealousy. Why could others spend money freely while she had to have her wallet managed!
She wanted to rise up and overthrow Kira's tyrannical rule!
Of course, she only dared to say this when Kira wasn't around; her fear of her younger sister was much more severe than her fear of Melanie.
"Sigh, might as well read manga."
The manga was very, very long. By the time Kira returned home with a dark face, Leticia had only read about three-quarters of it.
"Sister, are you playing games again?" Pushing the door open and seeing her sister sitting in front of the computer again, Kira asked with some displeasure.
Leticia immediately started defending herself. "I'm not playing games, I'm just reading manga!"
Reading manga and playing games are completely incomparable!
"Are you really just reading manga?" Kira was a bit skeptical; she truly had no confidence in her sister's self-control.
After all, she was the scum of humanity who dared to abandon the entire Demon Race and her own sister to run away to the Human World; it was normal for Kira to be skeptical of her.
"Really!" Leticia hurriedly gave up her seat, letting Kira come over to see if she had been immersed in reading manga for these past few hours.
Seeing her sister being so open, Kira believed Leticia's words about ninety percent. If her sister had done something wrong, she certainly wouldn't be this calm.
She would definitely be secretive and not let her look at the computer.
"Is this... Sister Bai's account?" Kira knew that Leticia currently didn't have any money on hand to read manga, and this manga was obviously something you had to buy.
So, was her sister using Melanie's account now? Or did she have Melanie pay for it?
Paying for it was probably impossible. Her sister was thin-skinned and wouldn't directly ask Melanie to pay for it, but borrowing an account was a relatively normal request that her sister could lower her pride to do.
