Chapter 143 - THE BLINDING VOID

Gwen closed her eyes, shutting out the terrifying, monochromatic reality of the ruined observatory tower. She blocked out the sight of the shattered granite, the unmaking grid pulsing violently in the crimson sky, and the towering white monument of death that loomed directly over them. Instead, she turned her entire consciousness inward, descending with reckless, absolute velocity into the subterranean depths of her own physiology. She bypassed the superficial layers of her power—past the ancestral solar grace that had built the grand courts of the South, past the dark, condensed sun that the God-King Aurelius so desperately sought to harvest for his grand architecture—and dove straight into the raw, primeval, and unmapped matrix of her motherhood.
