"Come to my aid, my legendary ship! Astrapste Argo!"
The heavens physically fractured and the remaining humans on the planet witnessed a massive, spectral wooden galley materializ through the nuclear clouds, its conceptual weight crushing the atmospheric pressure.
"I will not let you lay a single finger on Jason-sama!" a terrifyingly devoted voice echoed from the ship's bow.
Medea appeared suspended in the air, her purple robes fluttering violently as she unleashed a high-speed bombardment of divine words. Beams of dense, concentrated ether rained down on the crater like an artillery strike. The two remaining Viltrumites launched themselves upward, expecting to fly straight through the magic just like they had flown through the human railguns.
The magical beams hit them point-blank but the conceptual damage completely ignored their physical durability, blistering their invulnerable skin and scorching their white uniforms to ash. Even then, Viltrumites didn't drop; they just gritted their teeth through the agony, their muscles straining against the magical friction as they kept accelerating straight toward Medea.
"Target sighted," a cold voice muttered from the ship's mast.
Atalante drew her bow, unleashing a volley of vibrant green arrows at the speed of light. The projectiles pierced the lead Viltrumite's vision. He roared in pain, temporarily blinded, but he didn't stop his forward momentum. He swung his arm blindly in a wide, desperate arc. The shockwave of his backhand tore through the air, shattering Atalante's bow and throwing her off the mast.
Jason's forehead was drenched in sweat as he watched from the dirt. "They are pushing through the magic of the Age of Gods? What kind of absurd beings are these?!"
The volley of arrows and Medea's magic had at least pushed the Viltrumites back. During that moment, while the Viltrumites were recuperating, amassive, towering shadow dropped from the ship's deck. He slammed into the leading Viltrumite, and they crashed down onto the earth.
"▂▂▃▃▄▄▅▅!"
Heracles hit the ground like a meteor, the impact leaving the blinded Viltrumite off balance. The Berserker raised his jagged rock-sword and brought it down with earth-shattering force.
With a roar of rage, the Viltrumite raised his bare, bleeding hands and caught the stone blade.
The ground beneath them immediately bellowed and boomed from the force of the stalemate. Heracles roared, his monstrous muscles bulging as he drove his weight downward. The Viltrumite spat a glob of thick red blood, his boots sinking into the shifting bedrock, but his arms didn't buckle. He was physically matching Greece's greatest hero in a raw test of strength, his alien physiology refusing to break.
"Are you kidding me?!" Jason yelled, his tactical composure slipping as he saw his ultimate physical deterrent get completely stalled out. "Just how strong are these freaks?!"
The other two Viltrumites shook off Medea's magical burns, their eyes locked directly onto Jason. They ignored the Argonauts entirely, recognizing the blonde man as the weak link holding the entire projection together. They dove straight for him.
"Tch! Fine! If we cannot outmuscle you, we will crush you with the ledger!" Jason screamed, pointing his gladius at the descending aliens. "Ram them! Bring the ship down!"
The spectral Argo plummeted out of the sky. The massive wooden galley crashed directly into the crater, colliding with the three Viltrumites in a blinding explosion of conceptual light and splintered timber. The shockwave leveled the remaining ruins of the sector, turning the irradiated glass back into fine powder.
When the dust finally settled, the spectral projection of the ship dissolved into golden particles.
Jason was half-buried under a pile of heavy rubble. He hacked up a lungful of grey ash, using his gladius to violently pry a slab of concrete off his legs. His uniform was torn, his face was covered in soot, and his hands were bleeding.
A few yards away, the rubble began to shift. The three Viltrumites were bloodied, battered, and their uniforms were torn apart as they took their final breath.
"I hate this." Jason heaved, clutching his bruised ribs as he took a step back. "I want a massive salary increase, a hot bath, and a completely different Master! This planet is fucking insane."
The Earth Front (East)
Jaipur was a mess. A mess of pulverized stone and burning dropships.
Sebas Tian stood amidst the ruins. His immaculate black butler's suit was shredded from the waist up since he had unleashed his half-dragon form from the very beginning.
Thick purple scales plated his chest and forearms and a heavy reptilian tail tapped rhythmically against the cracked asphalt. His blue eyes were slitted into vertical pupils.
Unlike his feral state during the Chicago incident, Sebas was perfectly in control. His breathing was measured and posture was flawless. He crushed the skull of a dying slave soldier under his polished leather shoe and looked up.
Hovering above him were two pure-blooded Viltrumites who looked weirdly identical. They were young and arrogant.
"Look at the lizard," one of the Viltrumites scoffed. He cracked his knuckles. "Let's peel his scales off."
They broke the sound barrier, diving straight down, aiming to punch straight through Sebas's chest.
Sebas braced himself. He had spent the last six months training both Mark and himself, since a being serving an Absolute Being never stops growing, especially not after the shameful defeat from that beast. Debbie Grayson had ordered Nolan to spar with Mark Grayson himself, as every day he would beat Invincible within an inch of his life to break the boy's reckless habits. And from those six months, he knew exactly how a Viltrumite fought, what made them tick, and what their exact weaknesses were.
Sebas stepped gracefully into the attack.
He tilted his head, letting the first punch breeze past his ear. Sebas grabbed the alien's extended wrist, using the kid's own supersonic momentum against him and pivoted smoothly, flipping the Viltrumite over his shoulder and slamming him head-first into the bedrock with a sickening crunch.
Before the second Viltrumite could react, Sebas's scaled tail whipped upward. It caught the alien directly under the chin and the jawbone shattered on impact.
"You rely far too much on your brute force, children," Sebas rumbled. His voice carried a deep draconic bass as he stepped over the groaning aliens. "You possess zero refinement, merely children swinging hammers."
Sebas did not give them room to recover. His chest expanded as the scales along his ribs glowed with a violently bright purple light.
He opened his jaws and unleashed a point-blank breath attack.
It was concentrated Ki with conceptual heat. The beam struck the conscious Viltrumite point-blank, and the alien's famously invulnerable skin blistered. It blackened and peeled away to the bone under the magical output of a Level 100 Dragonoid. The Viltrumite's scream turned to ash, and so did his skull.
Sebas turned to the first Viltrumite, who had just pulled his head out of the crater. Sebas raised his hand and fired a compressed bullet of Ki straight through the back of the alien's skull.
The butler exhaled a slow puff of purple smoke and adjusted his remaining cuff. The slave army in the sector was dead and more importantly, the pure-bloods were dead.
Then a shadow eclipsed the sun and it was not a ship as he had hoped.
Dropping from the hull of a hovering Coalition cruiser was a heavily armoured figure, covered in white fur matted with crimson red. Battle Beast hit the ground with the force of a meteor as burnt cars launched into the air from the impact.
He rose from the dust cloud, gripping his massive battle mace in one hand. He ignored the dead Viltrumites as his golden feline eyes locked onto the half-dragon.
A bloodthirsty grin split the lion's scarred muzzle.
"I did not think I would have the taste of a rematch with an already defeated enemy," the alien warlord rumbled. His voice vibrated through the crushed stones of the city. "But my blood sings at the sight of those scales. Where is my 'student'? Where is John?"
Sebas cracked his neck and settled into his martial arts stance. His tail swished lazily behind him.
"I assure you, Beastkin," Sebas said quietly. The air around him distorted from the sheer density of his Ki. "I am not the same Dragon you fought in all those months ago."
Battle Beast laughed. It was a harsh, barking sound of pure joy as he lunged.
Sebas met him head-on.
Their first collision created a shockwave of terrific force. Fist met mace and the impact shattered the air itself, instantly vaporising the remaining infrastructure of Jaipur, leaving nothing but a glassed crater in their wake.
