Chapter 41 - 39

"I promise I'll explain everything in more detail in a moment... there's something important you need to know first... it's about the last Horcrux... it was created by Riddle without realizing it... the day he attacked your family and the Killing Curse rebounded on him, at that moment his soul fragmented once more and attached itself to the nearest living being at that moment...

"Wait!... are you telling me that..."

"Yes, Harry... there's a fragment of Riddle's soul in your scar and that... made you his Horcrux."

"But you said we had to destroy them... that means I have..."

Harry was in shock, and before his mind could think of anything bad, I told him...

"No, Harry, you don't have to die... I told you before that I managed to destroy two Horcruxes with the help of the goblins... they have a way of removing the Horcrux without destroying the container... you're not going to die... I won't let that happen if I can do something to prevent it, even if it means I have to catch Riddle and keep him captive in some cell."

My words brought a small smile to his lips that lasted only a second before he leaned back in the armchair and began rubbing the scar on his forehead as he said softly,

"When you mentioned knowing the future, I didn't imagine any of this... it's... I... I don't know what to say."

"We can leave it at that if you want..."

Harry straightened up, looked me in the eyes, and said seriously,

"Please continue, I want to know more... it's true that it took me by surprise... but I appreciate you telling me this and... thank you... for telling me."

I told Harry in more detail what I knew about the Horcruxes. I also told him about Sirius's brother and how he had died trying to destroy one of them. Before he died, he told his house-elf to leave and destroy the Horcrux, but the elf hadn't been able to destroy it yet because to do so, you have to open it, and to open it, you have to use Parseltongue, something both he and I could do.

Since we would need Sirius's help to get the locket, Harry said he would contact him to try to arrange a meeting so we could tell him what he needed to know.

After I finished telling him about the Horcruxes, I told him I wanted him to come with me to Gringotts to see the goblins and see if they could remove the Horcrux from his forehead. He agreed, and we arranged to do it in two days since Harry wanted to get rid of it as soon as possible.

I also told him what I knew about the tournament and what would happen to Cedric in the final test. When I mentioned that I would like to avoid Cedric's death if possible, he agreed with me. When I mentioned that the first test was to obtain a dragon egg, he turned a little pale when I told him what kind of dragon he would have to face and that I would like to teach him a couple more spells, so we would need to train a lot from now on.

Harry agreed when he heard my plan for the dragon trial, assuming it went as I remembered. The plan was simple, but it required mastery of clones, as he would need to create three or four, or more, at the same time, and at the moment he could only make two. My plan was to use clones to distract the dragon and become invisible, using the clones' smoke as cover. I would then let the clones spread out across the terrain, luring the dragon, and once the egg was free, he would approach and take it. I would also teach him the Aegis Shield spell in case he needed it.

Harry promised to train hard to master the spells before the day of the first trial.

Since it was already very late and we were both tired, we agreed to discuss the other things later, as he still needed to process everything I'd told him. Most importantly, he needed to start preparing for the tournament. Harry used the map to check if anyone was in the Gryffindor common room so we could open a door that would take us directly there. We also left a clone to meditate, with instructions to make the door disappear as soon as we reached the Gryffindor common room. This way, when they disappeared, we'd be full of mana and wouldn't be affected by the short amount of sleep. We wanted to start training early because the spells I wanted to teach him were more complicated than the clone spells, and we didn't know how long it might take him to learn them to the point of being effective in that kind of situation.

It was almost 4 AM when I fell asleep, and it was 7 AM when I woke up. I turned to look at Hermione's bed, and she was still asleep. Seeing her still asleep gave me an idea, and a smile spread across my face. I got out of bed and quietly approached Hermione's. Once I reached her side, I jumped on her, saying,

"Hermione! Wake up... come on, it's time to get up."

"Ugh... Selene?... What are you doing?"

I think I knocked the wind out of her for a moment when I landed on her. I chuckled a little at how half-asleep she was, since her hair now looked more like a lion's mane. I tried to stifle my laughter as I said,

"Come on, get up. It's not time to sleep anymore."

"Time?... What time is it?"

"It's 7 a.m., come on, get up."

"7 a.m.?"

Hermione mumbled something unintelligible and pulled the covers back over her head, but I wouldn't let her sleep any longer or my revenge for getting up so early yesterday morning wouldn't be complete. Today it was my turn to wake her up, and my revenge wouldn't end there, as I would take her to exercise with Harry and me, and possibly Neville and Luna if they were both awake.

Since I wouldn't let her go back to sleep, she had no choice but to get up. While we were putting on our workout clothes, she grumbled about how it wasn't fair that even though she fell asleep before me, she was more tired. I also heard her mutter something about not waking me up early on my day off again because she didn't want to suffer my revenge again. Well, she said other words, but that was the gist of it... and she's not wrong. Although she hasn't suffered the full force of my revenge yet, since I plan to increase the intensity of today's training, which I think will make her seriously reconsider waking me up early again and depriving myself of something sweet, even if it's just for a few minutes. After all, it's dangerous to mess with a girl's sweets, especially if that girl is the one who organizes your workouts.

When we arrived at the common room, Harry and Neville were also coming out of the stairs leading to the boys' dormitories, both dressed in their training gear. I ignored the few other students in the common room, as I was still annoyed with them about last night, and walked straight to Harry and Neville, greeting them.

The four of us left Gryffindor Tower and headed towards the lake, where we did our exercises. On the way, we ran into Luna. Halfway through our training, we bumped into Viktor, who was warming up. When he saw our group, he seemed a little surprised, but he waved, which we returned as we passed him.

At the end of the training, Hermione, Neville, and Luna all collapsed on the floor from exhaustion. Though faint, I heard Hermione mutter "demon," which made me laugh at them. Harry was a little better; he only had his hands on his knees, and his breathing was slightly rapid. I was already used to this level of training from Uncle Godric's classes, so I could do a few more laps if necessary, but I didn't want to overdo it since we would still be practicing spells in the Room of Requirement after breakfast. I laughed a little more at the three of them lying on the floor before taking pity on them and telling them we were finished.

Neville and Hermione could barely stand, and both their legs were trembling a little. Luna, on the other hand, didn't even try to stand; she just raised her arms and asked me to carry her back to the castle. She said it in such a cute and funny way, very much in "Luna's" style, that I couldn't refuse and I carried her on my back. It reminded me of the times Helena wanted to do the same exercises as me and ended up just like them, so I always carried her back to the castle.
