Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Slice-of-life Potter

"Mmm? A curious child you are Harry Potter." After the hat sang his song, the professor finally called the students' names and it was finally Harry's turn.

But before that, the Pevensey siblings were a curious bunch. They each sorted into the house befitting their own personality, it seems.

The eldest twin, Peter in Griffyndor, Susan Ravenclaw, Lucy Hufflepuff and Edmund at Slytherin.

"Quite the mindset you have. I think you are perfect in every house but your maturity and state of mind as it seems, you are more aligned with Hufflepuff."

"That would be appreciated, I also feel like I am too isolated." Harry thought about his current situation and agreed.

"Then Hufflepuff!" The Hufflepuff table erupted in cheers, while the rest gasped in shock, especially the Gryffindor table, and the Headmaster, whose eyes widened in a fraction of a second.

Harry ignores such a reaction and focuses mostly on what to do with school. 'Personally, I am a powerful sorcerer thanks to the Helmet of Fate teaching me magics. I am also a master potioneer and alchemist. I should study Hogwarts magic system.'

With that plan forming inside his head, Harry sat down on the Hufflepuff table and started to mingle with the students who were so enthusiastic about his joining their table.

What they didn't know was that Harry's fate was already derailed with the arrival of the Pevensey siblings bringing a Fate worse or better than what the prophecy foretold.

"Hi, welcome to Hufflepuff." Seeing the enthusiastic children shaking his hand and greeting him, Harry smiled awkwardly, but this was what he wished for, and he managed to do so.

In no time, he found his own rhythm before they even reached their dorms. The supper was well-cooked and delicious.

He even chatted with Lucy and found the girl quite lovely at close. Amidst the children's enjoyment, dinner came to an end and the Headmaster announced something about rules and a forbidden corridor.

Harry mostly ignores it and focuses more on what to do next. 'How to be a normal kid without worrying about the future.' He mentally imposed the question on him and now he was trapped in this kind of situation.

"Harry, we're going to our dormitory. Come on." He was woken by Lucy who smiled happily at the new environment it seems.

"Right, thank you, Lucy." Standing up, Harry followed the group of students, divided into two lines for each gender.

Walking in steady steps, Harry listens to the children's talk and even inputs some of his observations or anything that can kill the awkwardness he only feels.

"I heard that for the next week, we are to familiarise ourselves with the school before the real period starts." Suddenly one student changed the topic.

Everyone looks at him with curious eyes. "Why is that?" Another chubby boy asks.

"Well, it's mostly an orientation but a perfect opportunity to explore the castle, isn't it?" The young boy grinned with a smile and Harry himself smiled at how the young boy thought of that.

"Now that you say it, I think I'll do just that." Grinning, Harry agreed while following the prefect who introduced them to their own rooms or the Combine Lounge to sleep in. Harry chose the lounge to experience sleeping with many people.

Before the clock hits 11, students are still awake talking and playing around until the prefect announces the lights out.

Harry filled with excitement and laughter had to sleep with a smile etched on his face something he had never experienced before.

Two weeks later

"Oh, Hi Hedwig. How are you this afternoon?" Inside one of the abandoned towers, Harry can be seen working on his assignments.

He had checked the forbidden corridor and had taken the stone as well. He did not want something that his parents' murderer wanted to be placed there like common stuff.

While Harry tries to be the young child he is, his consciousness cannot allow such an obvious trap to be made for him that could harm children brought unattended.

He already dealt with the trap and even left something that can kill a dark apparition. Of course, he made sure to deploy a magic array that would teleport curious students under the age of 18 to either the Quidditch field or the shore of the Freezing Lake.

"What do you think about this life of mine?" Harry asked while treating Hedwing with mana-infused meats. "Do I fully live a healthy youthful life or am I pretending?"

Hoot.

"Maybe you're right, I'll just live a life I won't regret." Nodding his head, Harry then took out a strange arrow from his inventory. "This thing can grant you a power called a Stand. I am struggling to give it to you..."

The mood suddenly shifted to a stifled and depressing tone. "The price is too much for anyone."

Harry mutters to himself and then looks at his familiar and sighs. "Whatever, I'll try to test it on some animals first before I pierce you."

"Uh? Why don't I test on myself first?" Curious, Harry gained a Stand that day.
