"Failed to penetrate the enemy's scalp!"
When that executioner round—thicker than a finger—exploded, Calgar and Sicarius looked on in absolute shock.
What kind of situation was this? A bald egghead had suddenly appeared out of nowhere and deflected the enemy's bullet directly with his scalp?
"Quick, there are traitors!"
Weapons in hand, Sicarius and Calgar charged straight out.
Filing in right behind them was a full company of Ultramarines.
Using their weapons, they swiftly brought the entire council under control, standing ready to deal with these turncoats who had dared attempt to assassinate their Primarch.
"Aba-aba, aba-aba—"
Having been blindsided by this sudden turn of events, Guilliman was also left a bit dazed.
How did these guys have the nerve? How did they dare attempt to assassinate him?
Suddenly, the bald egghead squatted down. He looked at Guilliman with a sincere gaze, then patted his own head as if trying to comfort him.
"Yo, little sister, where are your mommy and daddy? The bad guys have been brought under control. Let me take you back home!"
Guilliman pressed a hand to his forehead. Though he didn't know what the deal was with this reinforcement sent by his old man, it seemed this fellow had already mistaken him for a little kid!
"Uh, actually, this is my home."
"This is the Imperial Palace of Terra. Thank you for your assistance, thank you, hero."
At this moment, Guilliman didn't know much about the Saitama before him; he merely thought this brave warrior must have an incredibly hard head.
"This is your home?"
"Ah, looks like I've ended up in a really strange place!"
The dense Saitama still had no idea where he had arrived. And so, he blankly followed Guilliman into the High Lords' council chamber.
Yet even at this very moment, the audio-kinetic trails hidden in the dark were still continuously moving.
"Primarch, we still don't know how many assassins participated in this attempt!"
"Quite a few of the High Lord members here are completely fake. They are nothing but cloned doubles, without even their full memories!"
"What!" Guilliman completely had not expected that there would be traitors even among the High Lords!
And officially speaking, the Officio Assassinorum had already participated in the attempt on his life.
That meant there really weren't many loyalists left on Terra!
In fact, to Caleb, this was perfectly normal.
After all, how could guys capable of pulling off brain-dead operations like the Penitent Crusade be purely loyal?
For Chaos to be able to rage across the galaxy, the Council of High Lords certainly had to take a share of the credit.
With the nobles spending all their effort on political backstabbing, wasn't that just giving Lord of Change Lord a chance to slip through the cracks?
"Right, Primarch, this person is—"
Sicarius wanted to ask about the identity of the bald egghead beside them.
But Guilliman could only shake his head, because he didn't know the identity of this hard-headed fellow either.
Right now, the bald egghead was just looking around without saying a word. His mind was entirely consumed by one thought: Was there a supermarket in this place?
Where could he buy eggs? Could he get a discount?
While the three heroes of the Ultramarines and Guilliman were all thinking about their next political maneuvers, the One-Punch Man was still looking around to see if there was a supermarket or a shop inside this palace!
Seeing that Saitama wasn't reacting much, everyone just assumed this guy was a reinforcement sent by the Emperor.
As for whether he reacted or not, it didn't really matter—after all, that large crowd from the Legion of the Damned was usually in this exact state anyway.
"Hey, do you guys have a supermarket here?"
"Supermarket???"
Leave alone Calgar and the others, even Guilliman was left with a look of utter bewilderment.
Why was this reinforcement sent by his old man so bizarre?
They were already inside the Imperial Palace, so why was he still thinking about a supermarket? There are no supermarkets in the Imperial Palace!
"Ah, haha!"
"Um—hello, this is the Imperial Palace of Terra, there are no supermarkets here!"
"If you need something, how about I go fetch it for you?"
Faced with this person whose neural pathways were a bit strange, Guilliman could only rely on his own intellect to cope as best as he could.
Thank goodness Guilliman's brain was still working properly right now. If they had let Lion come instead, he would probably just be standing in place, hissing and throwing a fit.
"Oh—it's nothing."
"I just wanted to buy some eggs, buy some noodles and the like, just to eat tonight!"
"Since there's no supermarket, a convenience store works too. By the way, is there a convenience store with a discount sale nearby?"
"You—" Calgar was just about to say something, but at that moment, Guilliman reached out and pulled Calgar's massive arm down.
Calgar also saw his lovely Primarch-Mom shaking his head, signaling him not to speak out of turn.
Since the Primarch had indicated as much, Calgar couldn't say anything more.
"Ah, haha, yes there is, yes there is!"
"When I came this time, I brought a subsidy fleet along with me!"
"Before long, all the food shops across the entire planet will implement a hundred-trillion subsidy!"
"When the time comes, all food items will be discounted, and you'll be able to participate then!"
"Oh, is it really that good!" The moment he heard about a hundred-trillion subsidy, Saitama instantly perked up.
His originally sluggish neural state also improved quite a bit.
To this eccentric, even the most powerful enemy probably wasn't as important as a supermarket subsidy.
And since the person in front of him was actually going to launch a hundred-trillion subsidy, he absolutely had to go.
Having said this, Guilliman even placed the text of his agricultural subsidy plan right in front of Saitama.
Of course, that was merely a summary of the main chapters, not the details.
"Oh, you guys are going to hand out subsidies and let everyone eat for free?"
"Are there any oden skewers included in the subsidy? If there are, I want to hoard some!"
Slap!
Sicarius, Calgar, and the others could only smack their own foreheads. They suddenly felt it was utterly absurd. This bald guy was clearly capable of tanking artillery shells with his bare flesh, so why did he always focus his energy on such trivial matters?
"Ah, haha!" After chatting for a bit, Guilliman had more or less figured out this guy's way of thinking.
This fellow's manner of speaking was very similar to that of a common street civilian.
The things he cared about were all related to his own daily life. As for specific policies and the like, he probably wouldn't understand them anyway.
"Ahem—" Guilliman narrowed his eyes and coughed twice. He quickly shifted his mindset, bringing his own level down to match the other party's plane.
"There will be subsidies, and what's more, a lot of them! I'll have people deliver delicious food for free!"
"It's just that I can't figure out why these damn High Lords just refuse to cooperate!"
"They even wanted to assassinate me. The artillery shell that just smashed against the top of your head was actually aimed at me!"
The moment these words were spoken, the originally expressionless Saitama suddenly erupted with an immense, colossal aura.
Even the Three Heroes, each weighing two tons, were blown back. They completely had not expected that this ordinary-looking human before them actually possessed such power.
"Oh, so that's how it is!"
"Then it's fine. Little sister, leave your safety to me from now on!"
With just a few words, Guilliman successfully hoodwinked Saitama—even giving him a Lord Regent's Decree, claiming it was a local bank card.
Originally, Saitama's sense of justice wouldn't allow him to accept this money, but Guilliman said that all the guards here received wages, so Saitama accepted it.
Perhaps even Saitama himself wouldn't imagine that this so-called wage might be more precious than the wealth of dozens of developed human worlds.
And next, Saitama would use this sky-high check to leave the merchants in the hive world utterly dumbfounded.
But that was a story for later. The problem they faced right now was—a traitor Primarch had already infiltrated the Imperial Palace.
"Guilliman, welcome back!"
"Not seeing you for so many years, you've become so small and cute!"
The Emperor's psychic barrier ultimately could not completely cover up all the chaotic aura.
Taking advantage of the Moment when the Chaos Gods' power was fiercely assaulting the Emperor's Golden Throne, Magnus materialized directly inside the Imperial Palace through those tiny fissures.
Of course, the current Magnus didn't have the strength to kill the Emperor and Malcador.
In fact, going to the Imperial Palace like this would instead help the Emperor and Malcador break their seals.
Right now, the Rubric spell directed by the Changer of Ways could indeed stall the Cursed One and Malcador.
But that was only for a mere 9 hours. If he didn't quickly finish off Guilliman, given what the latter had done, he would be crushed to death by the Emperor in a matter of minutes.
"Magnus, so it's you!" When Guilliman saw this Daemon Primarch, his brows knitted tightly into a deep frown.
By now, through Malcador, he already knew that the damage caused by Magnus was far greater than even Horus's.
If not for this traitor, the Emperor wouldn't have ended up in such a state.
If not for this traitor, the current Imperium wouldn't be gasping for breath like this.
"I see, so that's how it is. I suppose all of this was your arrangement?"
"The rebellion of the High Lords, and the current chaos within the Ultramarines chapter, are all led by you!"
"Sure enough, Malcador was right. You are the biggest traitor of them all!"
"Traitor?" Magnus sneered.
"I am merely preventing humanity from heading towards ultimate destruction."
"Father is sprinting down the wrong path; naturally, I have an obligation to bend it back."
"Bend it back? By making a psychic phone call?"
"And then punching a hole through the Webway, forcing the entirety of human civilization to be buried alongside your ridiculous path."
"You allowed daemons to invade Terra without restraint, and yet now, ridiculous as you are, you actually believe this path is correct!"
Originally, a smirk had been playing on Magnus's face, but when Guilliman put it that way, the smile instantly vanished.
That damn Malcador really told Guilliman everything, even exposing his old secrets. It looked like he couldn't waste any more words with Guilliman.
"In that case, I can only invite you to take a trip to the Warp first!"
The sound of surrounding footsteps grew closer and closer as a massive group of Custodes surrounded the area.
With such a massive disturbance occurring in the Imperial Palace of Terra, the Custodes naturally had to act—yet, just as they had failed to protect the Emperor, the current Custodes might not even be able to protect the Lord Regent.
"Crimson Spell, Void Tear!"
Seeing the Custodes about to surround him, Little Magnus merely silently cast a Rubric spell toward Guilliman's direction.
Right now, Little Magnus possessed a continuous flow of blessings upon his person; he could effortlessly send all enemies before him straight into the Realm of Chaos.
"Quick, catch up to the Primarch!"
Calgar, Sicarius, and the others chose to catch up to their gene-primarch at the very first moment.
Yet, before they could even pass through the rift, the gates of the fissure slammed shut!
Everything in the surrounding time and space was locked down; even the Custodes could do absolutely nothing against the phenomenon before them.
The Sisters of Silence expressed their helplessness through sign language. The Custodes also hadn't expected that there would be a spell capable of breaking free from the influence of the Sisters of Silence.
"Damn it, bastards! What do we do now? Are we just supposed to stand here and watch, waiting for the Primarch to come out?"
"Three thousand Custodes! There are three thousand Custodes here!"
"Captain-General, please give me an explanation. Why are there so many traitors inside the Imperial Palace of Terra?"
"It's one thing for the High Lords to mutiny on a massive scale, but even a Daemon Primarch can come and trample inside the palace. What on earth are you guys doing!"
The proud Custodes fell silent at this moment.
Because even the most arrogant Custodes felt that these words were indeed undeniable.
The enemy had already laid out their schemes right in their home base, right beneath the Emperor's feet, right within the Imperial Palace of Holy Terra.
As a result, the current Custodes not only couldn't protect the Emperor, but they couldn't even protect Guilliman, who had managed to arrive here with great difficulty to save the day.
Earlier, Guilliman had wanted the Custodes to go out and do some work, only to be rejected by the Custodes using their usual excuse of protecting the Emperor.
And now—the enemy was already throwing a party inside their home palace, even abducting their gene-primarch right in front of their faces.
What kind of cuckoldry was this? It was as cucked as it could possibly get!
The enraged Calgar even wanted to pick a fight with the Custodes in front of him. If Sicarius hadn't pulled Calgar back, they would have probably started brawling already!
"Chapter Master, shouldn't we deal with the traitors in our ranks first?"
"A lot of Alphas have sneaked into our ranks. Right now... right now, many of our battle barges have plunged into utter chaos!"
"Damn it!"
Calgar shot a glare at the Custodes and walked away sullenly.
Before leaving, Calgar ordered Sicarius to stay behind and wait for the Primarch to emerge. As for those traitors, Calgar felt that relying on his own capabilities, he could easily suppress those damn Alphas!
To this proposal, Sicarius naturally had no reason to refuse.
He indeed had to keep a close watch right here and wait for the Primarch to come out.
"Notify the Grey Knights, have them come over too. Perhaps those psykers have some methods!"
The current Custodes were no longer as arrogant as before; or rather, after so many incidents had occurred, the Custodes no longer had the right to be arrogant.
They couldn't guard the Emperor, and they couldn't guard the Lord Regent either.
If this kept up, the Custodes would become useless failures who couldn't protect anything at all. If they didn't go out and do some work soon, they really would become freeloaders.
Meanwhile, within the realm of the Warp, Little Magnus was still gloating over his next plan.
"Guilliman, you've been asleep for ten thousand years. You have absolutely no idea what the current state of the galaxy is!"
"The Warp is where humanity belongs, it is the future of humanity—only by choosing to become a part of the Realm of Chaos does humanity have a so-called future!"
Looking at those twisted, misshapen humans before them, both Guilliman and Saitama felt an indescribable sense of disgust in their hearts.
Saitama was merely slow to react; it didn't mean he lacked a conscience.
Especially upon seeing those strange individuals who had almost been warped into Chaos Spawns.
Even Saitama felt that the opponent was an egregiously wicked monster.
"How boring. Is this the so-called future?"
"Everyone turning into monsters... did you ever ask those people if they were willing to become like this?"
Guilliman turned his head away. He felt somewhat mistaken. Originally, Guilliman had thought this bizarre fellow would exhibit the panic of a common street civilian.
But the sense of shock displayed by the person before him told Guilliman that this was no ordinary civilian.
"Haha!"
"They... they all have the right to the desire for knowledge!"
"Turning into this is their best choice, because only by becoming like this can they get closer to the truth!"
While Little Magnus was busy spouting nonsense on one hand, he was quietly casting a Crimson Spell on the other, wanting to turn this strange fellow into a Chaos Daemon as well.
Magnus's Chaos sorcery was incredibly overbearing. As long as the opponent showed even a tiny shred of ambition or a tiny bit of desire for knowledge, then Magnus would have a way to turn them into a Chaos worshiper, or even a Chaos Spawn.
However, as a wave of blue energy blasted across, Saitama, who was standing right in front of him, showed no change whatsoever.
His inner mind was so completely still and unbothered that Magnus almost thought he was trying to hypnotize an Iron Man.
"How could you possibly have no reaction? This is impossible! The success rate of this spell of mine is as high as 99.99%!"
"Is that spell of yours the kind that will keep whispering and nagging in my ear?"
"That voice promised me a lot of things, but I wasn't interested in any of them."
"My only interest right now is to flatten everything here with a single punch!"
Saitama's right hand gathered power, and immediately after, he charged out at a speed near the speed of light, striking heavily right against Magnus's face.
Magnus's entire form was struck to the point of nearly dissipating. With just one punch, Magnus instantly died 99 times over.
He had just spawned from his respawn point, only for the damage calculation to mysteriously pop up out of him out of nowhere!
Unadorned and simple, without a single ripple.
Every daemon in front of them completely vanished into nothingness under this single punch.
*Khorne: Holy shit, awesome! *
Khorne chipped in, or rather, he had also been keeping tabs on Tzeentch's plan.
Lately, Khorne had been trying to find a suitable SSR character.
But how difficult was it to find an SSR capable of replacing Angron?
The vast majority of humans couldn't even pass his trials at all!
