Chapter 454 - Kana's Reminder

After all the commotion, everyone lost the desire to continue playing outside. Just as they were about to leave, they saw the messy ground caused by Uchiha Koku's Earth Release. After discussing it, they decided to help clean up the street.

After all, they would be living in this capital in the future, and Asuna and the others didn't want to tarnish the reputation of Konoha Village because of this. If there was a rift with the local people, it might be exploited by those hostile native factions. Although they were the ones attacked, it didn't mean they could turn a blind eye.

Fortunately, due to Asuna and Mizuki's choices, the scale of the battle didn't become too large; it was just some traces left by Earth Release. It could be covered up by using Earth Release again. This was when Fujimura Yuuki came into play, as he was the only one present who could use Earth Release.

Fujimura Yuuki used Earth Release to control the soil and earth spikes. The former returned to its original flat state, and the latter retracted into the ground. In a blink of an eye, the entire street returned to its original appearance.

"Compared to destruction, construction is indeed more troublesome," Fujimura Yuuki said. Don't let the simple operations fool you; they actually require a high level of chakra control from the user. Even an average Chunin might not be able to do it.

At this moment, the patrolling guards arrived. Because of the ninja attack incident, the guards took it very seriously. If it was some unruly ninja causing trouble, they would apprehend them on the spot.

Upon seeing the Konoha headbands on Asuna and the others, the guard captain paused and decided to be cautious. These were Konoha ninja, and if they weren't the perpetrators, he might be in trouble. Although this wasn't Konoha Village's territory, there were many merchants and others here who had been helped by Konoha ninja. Under legitimate circumstances, Konoha still had a certain influence.

"Konoha ninja, could you please tell me what happened here?" The guard captain stepped forward and asked very politely.

"We were attacked by some idiot who had a screw loose. If you want to find someone, go find that guy," Mizuki said unceremoniously.

Hearing that these Konoha ninja weren't the instigators, the guard captain breathed a sigh of relief. He then asked who it was and, upon learning it was someone named Tobi, his expression froze.

The name Tobi had become very prominent recently. It was said that he had become the Daimyo's confidant in a short amount of time. How could a small guard captain like him possibly go after Tobi? This matter could only be dropped.

Seeing that the guard captain had nothing more to say, Asuna and the others decided to leave. After apologizing to the nearby residents for the disturbance, they set off back to the Fire Temple.

Inside the Fire Temple, Hyuga Hiashi, the only one who hadn't left, was having a pleasant conversation with the abbot.

Hyuga Hiashi, despite his young age, possessed extensive knowledge. If it weren't for his identity as a Konoha ninja, the abbot would have wanted to keep him at the temple to study.

If Hyuga Hiashi hadn't been from a ninja clan, he would probably have considered staying here, as the atmosphere of the Fire Temple was very suitable for training the Byakugan. Although it was impossible for him to enter the Fire Temple, since he was going to serve as a Guardian Ninja in the capital, he could still frequently visit the temple for discussions.

At the same time, Hyuga Hiashi also met a future colleague. Tobi had also chosen someone from the Fire Temple to be a Guardian Ninja. Earlier, because he wasn't in the temple, there was no introduction. Now that he had returned, the abbot introduced him to Hyuga Hiashi.

The monk's name was Tenichi. He focused on cultivation within the Fire Temple and was very strong; otherwise, he wouldn't have been selected as a Guardian Ninja. Hyuga Hiashi tentatively sparred a few moves with him and felt that the opponent was at least a Special Jonin, and if he went all out, he might even reach the Jonin level.

After the sparring ended, Hyuga Hiashi discussed classic ninja scriptures with the other party. As a monk of the Fire Temple, Tenichi's knowledge was undoubtedly very rich, often making Hyuga Hiashi nod in admiration.

Just as the discussion was getting intense, Hyuga Hiashi noticed Asuna and the others returning and said, "You're back. Let me introduce you, this is Tenichi... What's wrong with you all?"

Halfway through his sentence, Hyuga Hiashi noticed everyone's expressions and felt that something was wrong. Then he heard Fujimura Yuuki say, "It's nothing major, just that guy named Tobi attacked us. He called it a test. Although there wasn't much damage, it just left a bad taste in our mouths."

"You ran into that guy named Tobi?" Hyuga Hiashi said with some surprise.

Tenichi, who was standing nearby, heard this and said to Hyuga Hiashi, "This person named Tobi is truly unfathomable. I don't know what he's thinking, but I feel he has ill will towards you Konoha ninja. You should be careful."

Tenichi was a monk of the Fire Temple and had received education related to the ninja sect since childhood. Although Tobi had sought him out, he and Tobi were not on the same path. Moreover, after a conversation with Hyuga Hiashi, he had a very good impression of him, so his stance naturally leaned towards Konoha Village.

"Thank you for the reminder," Although Hyuga Hiashi already knew that Tobi was not simple, hearing that Tobi dared to attack Asuna and the others openly in the street gave him a new understanding of the man.

At this time, someone came in to inform them that Miss Kana had returned to the temple. Upon hearing this, Asuna and Mizuki temporarily put aside their previous unhappiness and immediately went with the others to greet Kana.

As soon as Kana returned to the temple, she was informed by a monk that the guests from Konoha Village had arrived. Previously, she had received a letter from Fumori Masaki, asking her to look after Asuna and the others. She naturally felt obliged and asked where Asuna and the others were.

Halfway there, Kana met Asuna and the others. Kana immediately stepped forward and hugged Asuna, happily saying, "Long time no see, Asuna, and Mizuki."

Apart from Asuna and Mizuki, the others had rarely seen the second daughter of Senju Hashirama. Before, they had mostly seen her in ninja academy classrooms or in portraits. At that time, Kana always wore traditional clothing, elegant and noble. But now, she was dressed in the new fashion popular in Konoha Village.

This was because at that time, Fumori Masaki, in the name of the ninja sect, adopted a strategy of reforming by invoking the past. Kana's traditional image was easily accepted. Now, the ninja sect revival movement was becoming more and more successful, and its new ideas were being accepted by more and more people. It just so happened that Kazamori was reforming traditional ninja clothing, which in turn influenced other aspects.

Kana led by example, being the first to support Fumori Masaki's clothing reform and promoting it to her friends. It can be said that Kana played a significant role in the popularity of Konoha Village's new fashion. The clothing Kana wore now retained traditional charm while incorporating the style of Fumori Masaki's new fashion, combining the advantages of both. It did not diminish Kana's beauty at all and gave her a unique temperament she hadn't had before.

Kana nodded to the others. Seeing that it was getting late, she joined everyone for dinner, while also learning about some interesting things that had happened during her absence from the village. She also took the opportunity to tell everyone about some customs, etiquette, and taboos of the capital. This was not Konoha Village, but a place where traditional nobles lived. Although many people believed in the New Ninja Sect, with the Daimyo present, the power of the traditional nobles remained strong.

In the evening, Kana, Asuna, and Mizuki stayed in the same room, sharing girl talk. When she saw the summoning formulas on Asuna's body, she laughed so hard she couldn't straighten up, making Asuna incredibly embarrassed.

After Kana thoroughly understood the family matters that couldn't be discussed in front of others and was satisfied, she said to Asuna and Mizuki, "I heard before I came back that the other Guardian Ninja are arriving soon. You should be meeting the Daimyo very soon. No matter what you think, you should still show respect to the Daimyo on the surface. The relationship shouldn't become too strained."

"Oh, and that guy named Tobi, be very careful. I've seen him a few times and even spoken to him. I always feel there's a big secret about him, and it's very likely the Daimyo is being used by this person."

"Used?" Asuna and Mizuki were a little surprised.

"Hmm. Although it's just my intuition, this person probably has ill will towards the village. He's currently using the Daimyo's help, and the Daimyo happens to believe his sweet words. Sometimes I even wonder if the Daimyo is being controlled by this guy." Kana shook her head slightly.

Asuna and Mizuki's expressions became a little serious, feeling that Tobi's danger seemed to have increased.

"One more thing, Tobi seems to be helping the Daimyo train samurai, seemingly teaching them how to learn chakra." Kana's next sentence surprised the two again.

Konoha Village had taken in samurai who had lost their homes due to previous wars, but due to the rigid impression of ninja, the integration of these samurai was very slow, and there were many objections within the village. However, teaching samurai chakra in the capital had fewer restrictions and would be much easier.

"Is that true, Kana-nee?"

"It's just a rumor, so it's hard to say if it's true, but if it really is, then the Daimyo's intentions are clear," Kana said. "Once you become Guardian Ninja, you might come into contact with this matter. You must gather information well and remind Mr. Fumori!"
