Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Ring Fusion

In the room, Lin Yang sat cross-legged with Chi Jian resting on his lap, seemingly deep in meditation and cultivation.

Soon, however, a yellow and a purple soul ring emerged beneath him, each radiating its own light. The two rings rapidly drew closer, as if squeezed together by an invisible force. During the process, they began to resonate.

A few short seconds later, they strangely merged into one, forming a larger, deep purple soul ring.

The moment this special soul ring took shape, a sharp, piercing aura swept through the entire room.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

In an instant, every object in the room was silently sliced into one-inch cubes. Like toppled building blocks, they scattered across the floor with a clatter. Even the bed Lin Yang was sitting on disintegrated instantly.

Lin Yang fell onto the debris with a thud, completely unprepared.

The fused soul ring separated once more, returning to its original yellow and purple forms as they quietly circled around him.

Lin Yang opened his eyes. He didn't care about the damage. Instead, the corners of his mouth curled into an irrepressible smile.

"Finally… it wasn't a waste of effort."

Lin Yang had never stopped pursuing greater power. He knew exactly what he needed.

Previously, when facing Dai Ziming, the gap in soul power levels had made him realize how weak he still was. Although he had relied on the powerful recovery of the Demon God Body and a few tricks to kill his opponent, it had also exposed his shortcomings. Against enemies whose soul power far exceeded his own, he still lacked a decisive, one-hit-kill offensive method.

Striped patterns, He Dao, and the Transparent World could subtly improve his strength. The Demon God Body increased his fault tolerance. Even the external soul bone and 100,000-year soul bone could serve as trump cards.

But it was still far from enough.

After much thought, Lin Yang had turned his attention to the soul rings themselves.

The most famous soul ring secret technique was naturally the Haotian Sect's Ring Explosion technique, which converted all the ring's energy into a desperate, ultimate attack. Besides that, there was the rarely seen Ring Fusion technique.

Ring Fusion was called a secret technique, but it was more like an innate talent.

Only after personally attempting it did Lin Yang truly understand: so-called Ring Fusion was actually about meticulous control of soul power and spiritual power. It involved sensing the soul power fluctuation frequencies of different soul rings, perceiving the barriers between them, and using spiritual power as a bridge to break those barriers and connect the rings.

The goal was to make two completely different fluctuations achieve resonance or complementarity to a certain degree, reaching a dynamic balance.

It sounded simple, but executing it was no different from performing ultra-high-precision micro-carving inside a bumpy carriage without making a single mistake.

Fortunately, after more than two months of repeated attempts, Lin Yang had finally completed the most difficult step. The scene just now was the best proof.

What specific ability the fused ring would grant still needed further exploration, but judging from its current performance, it was promising.

Just as Lin Yang was lost in thought, the room door was suddenly kicked open with a bang. Xiao Wu rushed in like a gust of wind.

"What happened? I just heard—"

Before she could finish, the sight of the mess choked off her words. The room looked as if it had been plowed through; almost nothing remained intact.

Xiao Wu's eyes widened. "Are you demolishing the house?"

Lin Yang gave an awkward laugh, stood up from the debris, and casually patted the dust off himself. "I was testing a soul skill earlier and lost control of the force for a moment."

Xiao Wu stared at him for a long time without speaking. Finally, she gritted her teeth and squeezed out two words:

"Freak!"

No need to ask. Just from the scene, it was obvious this guy's strength had increased again. Another invisible layer of pressure settled on the little rabbit.

Seeing how strong Lin Yang had become—and how relentlessly he trained every day—Xiao Wu no longer dared to slack off. Every time she went out shopping, she felt a pang of guilt. She couldn't enjoy it at all!

Only cultivation could relieve that invisible sense of urgency.

Lin Yang ignored her complaints and simply said, "Come on, go out with me. We need to buy some things to replace what's broken."

"Not going," Xiao Wu turned her head and refused cleanly. "I'm going to cultivate. You go by yourself."

With that, she turned and went back to her room. Clearly, Lin Yang had stimulated her quite a bit.

"Has she changed? She doesn't even want to go shopping anymore," Lin Yang muttered.

He waved his hand, transferring all the debris into his soul guide bracelet. After leaving the room, he walked into the courtyard.

At this moment, a Blue Silver Emperor over two meters tall stood rooted in the courtyard. Its broad leaves stretched freely, basking in the sunlight. Under the sun, the leaves with their golden fine veins seemed to emit a faint blue glow. Around it grew a large patch of ordinary Blue Silver Grass, nearly filling the entire space.

Seeing Lin Yang emerge, Ah Yin quickly shook her leaves.

Lin Yang smiled. "I'm going out for a bit. I'll be back soon."

The Blue Silver Emperor trembled slightly, as if nodding. With the Blue Silver Domain active, there was no need to worry about anyone discovering a soul beast in the small courtyard.

After leaving the courtyard, Lin Yang headed straight to the market to purchase various furniture and daily necessities.

While passing a quiet alley, he noticed a shop sign that hid a soul power imprint—something only soul masters could detect. The shop wasn't large and was located in a somewhat remote spot. Not only soul masters, even ordinary people rarely came here.

Looking at the storefront, Lin Yang already had a guess. This was most likely the soul tool shop Flender had opened to subsidize Shrek Academy.

After thinking for a moment, he stepped into the alley.

Standing at the shop entrance, just as he was about to walk in, a black figure rushed out in a hurry. The figure clearly hadn't expected anyone outside and was startled.

Seeing the two about to collide, Lin Yang stepped back and slightly turned his body, avoiding a full-on crash.

"Sorry, I'm in a rush!" The figure didn't even stop. He only turned his head and shouted before hurrying away with a somewhat embarrassed posture, disappearing around the corner in the blink of an eye.

Lin Yang narrowed his eyes. That sleazy-looking chubby kid with two small mustaches on his upper lip was probably Ma Hongjun.

Was he rushing off to vent his evil fire?

Although Ma Hongjun was young, he was already quite experienced in the ways of women. But since it was consensual, others couldn't really say anything.

Lin Yang shook his head. None of this had anything to do with him.

He had come this time just to see if the board crystal that Tang San had bought in the original story was still there. It was a rare treasure, after all. It would be a pity to miss it.
