Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: “The Enemy Who Knows

"…Bring the girl."

Back in the dim room—

The storm had only begun.

And now—

There was no turning back.

"Everything"

Silence didn't last long.

It never did in Jae-hyun's world.

The interrogation room still there was smelled of blood and tension. The traitor lay unconscious on the floor and restrained again, but no longer smiling.

The confidence he had moments ago—

Gone.

Han Soo-min stood near the wall, her breathing slowly stabilizing, but her hands still trembling slightly.

She had moved.

She had acted.

For the first time—

She didn't just survive.

She fought back.

But the fear didn't disappear.

It changed.

It deepened.

"…Everyone out," Kang Jae-hyun said quietly.

His voice wasn't loud.

But it carried authority.

Within seconds, the room cleared, leaving only three people behind.

Jae-hyun.

Soo-min.

Min-jun.

Min-jun ran a hand through his hair, letting out a long breath.

"…This is bad."

"…Worse than bad," Jae-hyun replied.

Soo-min looked between them.

"…What do you mean?"

Silence.

Then—

Min-jun spoke.

"…That wasn't just a random betrayal."

A pause.

"…That was planned."

Soo-min's chest tightened.

"…Planned… how?"

Jae-hyun's eyes moved to the unconscious man.

"…He didn't act alone."

A beat.

"…Someone higher is controlling everything."

The room felt colder.

"…And they know too much."

Her heart dropped.

"…About me?"

Jae-hyun didn't answer immediately.

That hesitation—

Was enough.

"…Yes."

Her fingers curled tightly.

"…How?"

Min-jun exhaled slowly.

"…That's what worries me."

Silence fell again.

Heavy.

Uncomfortable.

Jae-hyun finally turned to her.

"…They knew where you live."

A pause.

"…Your routine."

Another pause.

"…Your connection to me."

Each word felt like a weight.

"…That means—"

"…They've been watching for a while," Min-jun finished.

Soo-min's mind spun.

Watching… me?

A chill ran down her spine.

"…Since when?" she whispered.

No one answered.

Because no one knew.

Later—

The building felt even more suffocating.

Soo-min stood near one of the tall windows, staring out at the city below.

Lights flickered.

Cars moved.

People lived normal lives.

A world she used to belong to.

"…You're thinking too much again."

She didn't turn.

"…Someone's been watching me."

Her voice was quiet.

"…And I didn't even notice."

Footsteps approached.

"…That's not your fault."

"…Then whose is it?"

Silence.

She turned slowly.

"…Yours?"

The question wasn't accusing.

But it wasn't soft either.

Jae-hyun didn't react immediately.

"…Partly."

That honesty—

Caught her off guard.

"…Then what now?" she asked.

"…Now…"

He stepped closer.

"…we stop them."

"…How?"

His eyes darkened slightly.

"…Before they make the next move."

But even as he said it—

Something felt off.

Because deep down—

They both knew.

The enemy was already ahead.

Night fell again.

This time—

He didn't let her leave.

"You're staying here," Jae-hyun said.

"…I don't have a choice, do I?"

"…No."

She sighed quietly.

"…At least you're honest."

A faint smirk appeared.

"…I said I would be."

The room they gave her was simple.

Clean.

Safe.

But it didn't feel like home.

Nothing did anymore.

She sat on the bed, hugging her knees slightly.

"…I miss normal."

Her voice echoed softly.

But normal—

Was gone.

Meanwhile—

In a completely different place—

A man stood in front of a large glass window.

The city stretched beneath him.

His reflection stared back.

Calm.

Cold.

Calculating.

"…So the traitor failed."

Another man behind him bowed slightly.

"…Yes, sir."

A pause.

"…And the girl?"

"…Still with Kang Jae-hyun."

A faint smile appeared.

"…Good."

The man turned slowly.

His presence alone felt dangerous.

"…That means he's already trapped."

Silence.

"…Prepare the next phase."

"…What are your orders?"

A pause.

Then—

"…Bring her to me."

Back at the headquarters—

Soo-min couldn't sleep.

Again.

The silence felt too loud.

Her thoughts too heavy.

She stood up slowly.

Walked toward the door.

Opened it slightly.

The hallway was quiet.

Almost empty.

"…I just need some air," she whispered.

She stepped out.

Walked slowly.

Unaware—

That someone was already watching.

A shadow moved.

Silent.

Careful.

Following her.

Soo-min reached the end of the hallway.

A balcony.

Fresh air.

She stepped outside.

Closed her eyes.

"…Just breathe…"

The wind brushed past her face.

For a moment—

Peace.

Then—

A hand covered her mouth.

Everything shattered.

Her eyes widened in shock.

"Don't scream."

A low voice whispered.

Her body froze.

Again.

But this time—

Her mind didn't.

Move.

She struggled instantly.

Kicked.

Pulled.

But the grip was strong.

"…You've learned something," the man muttered.

"…Too bad it's not enough."

Her heart pounded wildly.

No… not again…

Another figure appeared.

"…Take her."

The second phase had begun.

Inside—

Jae-hyun's phone buzzed.

He glanced at it.

Unknown signal detected.

His expression changed instantly.

"…Where is she?"

No answer.

His eyes darkened.

"…Soo-min."

Back on the balcony—

Soo-min's strength was fading.

"…Let go—!"

Her voice broke free.

But it wasn't loud enough.

The man tightened his grip.

"…Sleep."

A cloth pressed against her face.

Her vision blurred.

"…No…"

Her body weakened.

Everything faded.

The last thing she saw—

Was the night sky.

Dark.

Endless.

Jae-hyun ran.

Faster than ever.

His heart pounding.

His mind clear.

One thought—

Too late.

The balcony door slammed open.

Empty.

Only the cold wind remained.

And silence.

For the first time—

Kang Jae-hyun felt it.

Not anger.

Not control.

But something worse.

Fear.

"…No."

His voice dropped.

Dangerous.

Deadly.

"…They took her."

Min-jun arrived seconds later.

"…What happened?!"

Silence.

Then—

"…We're going to war."

His eyes—

Were no longer human.

Just darkness.

Just rage.

Just destruction.

Far away—

Soo-min opened her eyes slowly.

Blurred vision.

Cold room.

Unknown place.

"…Where… am I…? Where..."

A shadow stepped forward.

"…Welcome."

A calm voice echoed.

"…I've been waiting for you."

Her heart stopped.

"…Who are you?"

A small smile appeared.

"…The one who owns your fate now."

"What..... What do you mean...?

The game had changed.

Completely.
