I shivered as Lucas pulled me on top of him, my body settling awkwardly against his. The sleek space felt more like a cage right now. My body was still prickled with the memory of rough hands grabbing me, the fear and gross feeling lingering in my gut.
They'd come for me because of this damn female vampire scent leaking out. Survival demanded it, even if it meant submitting to the one person I couldn't stand right now.
Something was way better than nothing though.
I'd begged him earlier and I was pretty desperate, but now I was having second thoughts. Why did I suddenly feel like I was tricked into this even though it was my idea? Am I just used to overestimating myself or am I just really that stupid?
Besides, I usually preferred being a pillow princess and letting someone else take the reins while I lounged in passive bliss. This position- straddling him, exposed and in control in a way that didn't feel like I was in control- felt embarrassing.
