I was running at full speed in my wolf form, paws pounding against the dirt road, adrenaline driving me faster than I'd moved since the ceremony. Up ahead, the asshole who stole my bike was pedaling like his life depended on it.
Smart.
But not smart enough.
I gained on him with ease, closing the distance like a shadow snapping forward—and then I leapt, crashing into him with all my weight. He let out a squeal and hit the ground hard, rolling a few feet down the side of the road like a knocked-over scarecrow.
I skidded to a halt, snarling once before I phased back to human form. It didn't even take effort this time—no stumbling, no aching pulse, no dizziness. It was... seamless.
Was that a sign I was getting healthier?
Who cares.
All I knew was—I got my damn bike back.
