Genevieve's anger only dissipated by half. She stared intently at Vivian, waiting impatiently to hear the good news she had mentioned.
"Mom, the good news is... you're going to be a grandmother," Vivian murmured, her cheeks flushing a soft, delicate pink.
Genevieve, still highly strung from her previous outburst, didn't even notice Vivian's shyness. "I'd rather not have a grandchild if it means dealing with this disaster! What right does some trashy woman have to carry my grandchild? Vivian, don't you dare stop me! I am going to end Alen Sin today!"
Upstairs, Alen heard the escalating commotion in the living room. Frowning, he stepped out of his study just in time to catch his wife's soft, fragile voice drifting up the grand staircase.
"Don't worry, Mom! The good news is... I'm the one who's pregnant." Embarrassed to say it louder, Vivian kept her head down, not realizing Alen was already standing frozen at the top of the second-floor landing.
