Miles away, in the quiet, wealthy suburbs of the city, Evelyn finally stepped out of her car and walked up the stone steps of the Sin family villa.
She dragged her tired body through the front doors, feeling completely drained. Between the stressful, sudden flight back and the chaotic boardroom battles at the company today, her energy was entirely depleted. She had originally planned to just sleep on the couch in her executive office to save time, but she hadn't brought a change of clothes or her necessary toiletries, leaving her no choice but to drive all the way back home.
Making her way up the sweeping staircase to the second floor, Evelyn paused. She looked down the long, carpeted hallway and hesitated for a brief moment before walking over and softly knocking on the door of her older brother's suite.
