Tessa's eyes finally fluttered open.
For a moment, she remained still, enjoying the warmth surrounding her. Whatever she was lying on was unbelievably soft and comfortable. In fact, it was probably the best sleep she had gotten since arriving in this strange alternate beast world.
A faint frown appeared on her face as fragments of memory surfaced.
She remembered a nightmare.
A cave.
Snakes.
A ridiculously handsome man with breathtaking features.
Honestly, it had to be a dream. There was no way such a thing could be real.
"Yep. Definitely a dream," she muttered to herself.
Still half-asleep, Tessa snuggled closer to the warm thing she was hugging and tightened her embrace.
Then it moved.
Tessa froze.
Her eyes widened.
Slowly.
Very slowly.
She lifted her head.
"Am I still asleep?" she whispered.
The thing moved again.
"Nope."
Tessa swallowed.
"Maybe it's just a pillow."
A very suspicious pillow.
A moving pillow.
A breathing pillow.
