"Big Sis, could the enemy Ethan has to face be something like Chthon?" Chthon was the final enemy the Chaos Goddess had faced.
It was because of Chthon that her other variant had become the Chaos Goddess Wanda.
Wanda knew this because I'll Treat Myself! didn't just let another variant control your body. It also shared memories.
What Wanda didn't know was that someone stronger than her could choose not to share memories, while still being able to see hers.
But the Chaos Goddess happened to be quite interested in this other variant of herself, so she was willing to share her memories with Wanda.
So Wanda had seen every one of the Chaos Goddess's memories, and knew how she had gone from human to god.
That world's Wanda had first had a dream. In it, the world was laid waste, and Iron Man, Spider-Man and the other Avengers were overrun by all kinds of monsters.
Captain America even began to mutate. The next moment, Chthon, the author of the Darkhold, descended on the mortal world, and Wanda woke from the dream.
She knew it wasn't a dream. It was a prophecy of the future, and all of it was happening because the original Darkhold had been dug up.
So she set out to seize the Darkhold and stop Chthon from coming. They entered another realm, trying to keep Chthon from reaching Earth.
And Iron Man and the others were killed.
Wanda had no other choice. To save the world, she chose to absorb the original Darkhold. In that instant, the ancient power within it flooded into her body like a tide. She felt surrounded by endless chaos, as if she were standing at the very first moment of the universe's birth.
Baptized by that power, Wanda's body and soul were utterly transformed. She was no longer an ordinary Wanda. She had become the Chaos Goddess, with supreme power.
Before her, Chthon seemed tiny. She defeated him with ease and absorbed all of his power.
From then on, Wanda stood at the summit of the universe as the Chaos Goddess, with power enough to contend with Marvel's Five Great Gods.
From the Chaos Goddess's memories, Wanda also knew she wasn't a bad person. She had resorted to desperate measures only because there was no other way to save the world. The Chaos Goddess was a good person who would never harm her. That was why, even with a new voice in her head, Wanda had never told Ethan.
"Chthon? Let me put it this way. If your little lover is who I think he is, most of the enemies he faces are stronger than Chthon. Some are even stronger than me. How interesting. This world really is interesting. Possessing you was clearly the right call."
"Heh heh heh heh." The Chaos Goddess laughed in Wanda's head, delighted with her own decision.
Wanda, meanwhile, went pale with shock.
