Chapter 303: A Little Love from the Rider Seniors
"Well, well — the seniors showed up." Ethan raised an eyebrow, unsurprised at Tsukasa and Kaito's sudden arrival. He never doubted for a second they'd skip out on a fight this big.
Tsukasa, dressed in his signature black suit with the pink lining, said mildly, "This is your world and all, but seeing as we're already here, we can hardly just let these freaks wipe the planet out."
With that, Tsukasa raised his magenta camera and snapped a quick photo of the three Black Order members. He shook the print, glanced at it, and grimaced with obvious distaste. "Nothing wrong with my camera technique. These aliens are just genuinely ugly."
Kaito, characteristically laid-back, stood at Ethan's right shoulder as usual, gun resting on his shoulder, a lazy grin playing on his lips. "Me, I'm here purely for that scythe. Word is it's quite the treasure. Wouldn't want to miss my shot at it."
"Well, if both my seniors are this fired up, I suppose I can't exactly hold back either," Ethan said, the corner of his mouth curling upward.
An instant later, belts materialized around all three of their waists in perfect unison.
"HENSHIN!" All three swiped their cards at once.
As the cards slid through, something strange began unfolding across all three of them.
A magic circle bloomed beneath each of their feet a moment later.
Ebony Maw, a man of few words and less patience, didn't waste any time — both hands moving at once, commanding everything nearby (trees, cars, chunks of pavement, twisted metal) to hurl itself at the three men mid-transformation.
But as any Kamen Rider fan knew, a transformation sequence was sacred — untouchable. Ebony Maw's assault simply struck an invisible barrier and dissolved harmlessly away.
Corvus Glaive, unwilling to be outdone, swung his scythe at the three of them in turn.
His attack fared no better, unable to breach their defenses either.
Both of them fell back, grudgingly, watching warily as the transformation completed, curious despite themselves what these three would turn into.
"De-de-de-de... CADE!"
"Di-di-di-di... DIEND!"
"Le-le-le-le... LEGEND!"
Three mechanical voices rang out from thin air in sequence.
Three differently-colored Kamen Riders now stood before Ebony Maw and the others.
Magenta Kamen Rider Decade. Golden Kamen Rider Legend. Blue-black Kamen Rider Diend.
"No matter how many times I see it, your transformation effects still put ours to shame," Tsukasa said, pursing his lips.
Ebony Maw eyed the three garishly-colored Riders with obvious disdain, a sneer curling at his lips. "Ridiculous. Flashy nonsense. Let's see what you three actually have to offer, though."
"I'll take this one!" Tsukasa, now Kamen Rider Decade, swiped a card and charged straight at Ebony Maw.
"The one with the scythe's mine. Hand over that treasure of yours nicely, why don't you." Kaito, now transformed into Kamen Rider Diend, fixed his gaze firmly on Corvus Glaive.
With a cold laugh, he summoned two Riders of his own to fight alongside him, and the three of them charged Corvus Glaive together in a furious brawl.
Watching his two seniors claim their opponents so instantly, Ethan couldn't help but feel a little put out.
He let out a rueful laugh, turning toward Proxima Midnight — the woman standing there in blue — and sighed. "Wow. You two seriously left me with the woman."
Tsukasa, still fending off Ebony Maw's attacks, teased over his shoulder. "Don't say we never look out for you, junior. We took the strong ones off your hands. You're not telling me you can't even handle a woman, are you? Surely not."
Ebony Maw, seeing Tsukasa's attention wander mid-fight, let out a cold laugh. "Getting distracted fighting me? Arrogant Earthling." Fury flared, and a surge of raw power erupted from his palms, streaking straight at Tsukasa.
Proxima Midnight wasn't about to be outdone either. Ethan's casual dismissal only stoked her anger further.
"People who underestimate me end up dead," she said coldly, drawing out her spear — a weapon rivaling even Odin's own Gungnir — and charging straight at Ethan.
"Nobody's underestimating you. If it takes all three of you together just to keep us occupied, that's proof enough of what you're capable of." Ethan summoned three Riders of his own to meet her charge.
Ethan wasn't exaggerating, either. Kamen Rider Decade, Kamen Rider Diend, and his own transformed Kamen Rider Legend, fighting side by side —
This particular trio had never once appeared together, not even in the original films.
The last time Decade and Diend fought together, the entire world had ended up destroyed.
Ebony Maw and his companions, thankfully, lacked the power to actually destroy a world.
As Ethan and Hell's Kitchen's superheroes fully joined the fray, the tide of battle began to turn.
The Chitauri forces were driven back, step by step — a shift that both the Big Apple's residents and viewers across the entire world could plainly see.
"Holy hell! Hell's Kitchen's people are unbelievable! Those two blind guys are cutting through aliens like they're chopping vegetables!"
"Say what you want, but Hell's Kitchen's superheroes might not look like much, but they hit like a truck. Those weird transformed guys are one-shotting whole Chitauri warships!"
"I'm personally a fan of that earth-and-sand duo — one's got the sand powers, one's basically a walking rock. NOW that's what I call manly!"
"Nah, the two swinging around like spiders are way more entertaining! Is Hell's Kitchen just mass-producing superheroes at this point?!"
Even ordinary civilians couldn't hide their shock — and in one particular corner of the battlefield, a group of figures dressed in white watched this whole strange, half-familiar scene unfold with equal disbelief.
"This battle... unless my memory's wrong, weren't there this many bizarre power-users the first time around? Wasn't it just the six of us back then? Steve — and wait, why are there TWO of that little Spider kid?"
