Chapter 27
A huge amount of red spirit energy gathered around Nemisis. Before he could move, he felt something move through his chest. He looked at it, and it was Supreme Nemisis's sword.
Supreme Nemisis pulled the sword out. "Are you even trying?"
He then looked at Nemisis's wound, which was not bleeding out but was healing rapidly.
"Ah, I see you." Supreme Nemisis smiled. "The first step: acknowledging you are a vessel."
Nemisis blinked. He then got a flashback of what the 9th Daimon said, but this time he heard the word 'vessel'.
It flooded his head; his spirit energy disappeared, replaced by a massive spirit pressure, and reality began to glitch around him. He stood motionless.
Lilith dropped to her knees and began bleeding from her eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. The spike on the back of the 9th Daimon began to rattle wildly. Supreme Nemisis rested his sword on his shoulders; a dark grin played on his face.
"Here it comes."
The spiritual pressure suddenly stopped. Nemisis stood motionless, grabbing his sword. His eyes were black like an eerie void. He stared at Supreme Nemisis.
"Hey, do you think it's Sanity?" Supreme Nemisis looked at Sovereign Nemisis.
"No," said Sovereign Nemisis. "I can sense Sanity and the others, alright. Right now, his existence is just testing the new information. I am beginning to wonder if your method was too much, but again it's still just me."
The 9th Daimon looked at Lilith, who lay in a pool of her own blood, struggling to breathe. The 9th Daimon gave a dreadful sigh before wrapping its tail around her. The tail gave a faint green glow, and Lilith slowly healed.
Nemisis disappeared; the ground cracked. Supreme Nemisis effortlessly swung his sword to the left; the clash of blades sent a shockwave. He swung again, getting the same results. He continued, but each swing was faster than the last, and his movement slowly blurred before becoming invincible.
He then grabbed Nemisis's head and slammed him into the ground, dragging his face along the ground and throwing him into a huge boulder.
"Damn," he said. "Not only did he lose his mind, but I bet he can't feel a thing. He is not even bleeding."
Nemisis stood up from the rubble, his skin pale with black patterns. He had five red, bloodshot eyes, four horns on his head, and a black tail swaying. He smiled, revealing rows of sharp, pointy teeth.
[TRANSFORMATION: DOOMSDAY/MIKATO]
"Mikato," Supreme Nemisis said. "Can't believe I get to view it from this angle, and it looks different than I remember."
"Of course it will," said Sovereign Nemisis. "We might all get the same transformation, but each varies in appearance or power."
He looked at Nemisis. "Now, little one, I see you have fully mastered the transformation of Mikato, the form of Doomsday. I would like you and Supreme Nemisis to come at me with all you've got."
"Ha!" laughed Supreme Nemisis. "If you are the so-called 'first' of us, you should know that one of us is enough, and going with all we've got... are you trying to destroy everything?"
"Are you scared? Or are you weak?" Sovereign Nemisis asked. "We both know that the only form that can handle our power for much longer is none other than the Bandage Sage. He has proven to us he is ready by acquiring Mikato or Doomsda; it's good if we begin."
Supreme Nemisis thought for a while. "Whatever."
He then placed a seal on Nemisis's forehead; the seal glowed faintly, then disappeared.
"Can you hear me?" He asked.
Nemisis gave no response.
"Sheesh, you are still gone," he said. "Ok we are going to take down the guy up there who calls himself the 'beginning'. You have to give it your all for this to work."
Nemisis nodded.
"Now that's an improvement."
Both tightened their grips on their swords.
"Please be careful, for we are at The Center." The 9th Daimon cautioned.
Both Supreme Nemisis and Nemisis leaped into the air but got stuck, their feet a few inches from the ground.
"What the..."
Supreme Nemisis looked at Sovereign Nemisis, who was still in his original position above them, arms folded. His face, though only partially visible, was filled with disgust. Supreme Nemisis's smile disappeared, not replaced by fear.
"Pathetic," Sovereign Nemisis said. "You two are the least I expected to get stuck in this attack."
Supreme Nemisis smiled again. "Well, call me impressed."
He swung his sword; reality wrapped around itself as space was being cut open. There was a huge burst that created massive nebulae. Supreme Nemisis and Nemisis landed on their feet.
He looked at Nemisis. "Go crazy, kid, but stay behind me if you wanna move."
He dashed towards Supreme Nemisis with Nemisis following behind him. A force slammed them into the ground.
Nemisis took a stance, leaning slightly forward. Dark energy began to form a ball between his horns; Supreme Nemisis smirked. The ball of energy moved towards Sovereign at a rapid speed; space wrapped along the path of the ball as if being folded inward.
Sovereign Nemisis crashed the ball of energy by just staring at it; a huge shock wave was formed. It tore through space and time, leaving cracks of void scattered around. The shock wave froze and shattered like glass before reaching the sea of omniverses.
Red energy gathered around Supreme Nemesis as he transformed. He had red skin; his hair was a white flame. He had two wings that spread open, revealing countless eyes. Two horns grew on his head; in between them was a diamond that looked like the one in Nemisis's chest. Above the horns was a golden, spiky halo; nine orb-like things slowly revolved around his eyes, partially blocking his diamond-like eyes.
Behind him, his energy (not his spirit energy) formed a balancea huge balance scale behind him, which tipped violently on both sides.
"You are finally taking it seriously?" Sovereign Nemisis asked.
"Why ask?" Supreme Nemisis replied; he then looked at Nemisis. "I will say it once again: put in everything; let's show him we are all equal."
He dashed towards Sovereign with Nemisis following beside him; space tore as he moved, revealing a motionless void which slowly closed. Both swung their swords to attack Sovereign Nemisis.
They moved rapidly, but Sovereign didn't budge. The blades passed through him, although Supreme Nemisis's blade distorted space and time with each attack; Sovereign remained unharmed.
"I'm so sad. These attacks are so pathetic."Sovereign Nemisis said, his tone sounding hurt.
He lifted his hand, which caused all the nebulae and space distortion to disappear; a bright red light shone at the tip of his index finger.
[ In the dark void exists a being.
But don't be fooled-
For this being is the void itself...
and beyond even that.
The darkness is merely its presence.
Then-
a bloody red eye opened.
