Because anyone who saw Khorne charging the front line, Tzeentch providing fire support, Slaanesh flanking for a sneak attack, and a Nurgle plague doctor acting as a healer would think the Chaos Gods / The Four Gods had taken the wrong medication. Otherwise, how the hell could they be this 'harmonious'?!
These four groups were not only not fighting each other, but they were actually coordinating!
And behind the Chaos Gods / The Four Gods appeared the Legion of the Damneds, who drew Bolter fire directly from the Warp, as well as the Greenskin Bosses, clad in steel and wielding ridiculously large-caliber junk guns.
The small-caliber retaliatory fire from the Aeldari pirates only sparked against the bodies of these fiends before they were overwhelmed by this unimaginable force, utterly becoming souls lost to blade and axe.
The Pirate Prince, standing at the very back, watched his men being cut down like wheat. Facing the Khorne zealots, who were already blinded by bloodlust, he closed his eyes, accepting his fate. But the pain of being cleaved in two he had imagined never came; instead, a reminder from a Thousand Sons Sorcerer arrived:
'Lord Sith wants one survivor.'
The gale from a crimson great axe brushed past the Pirate Prince's forehead, but the axe stopped steadily in mid-air.
The Pirate Prince slowly opened his eyes, looking in terror at the Khorne zealot before him. Seeing that he had actually stopped, his eyes were filled with even more incredulous questions.
These lunatics with muscles for brains actually had moments where they listened to orders and didn't kill?!
Curiosity overcame the Pirate Prince's fear of death. He turned his gaze toward the gate, wanting to see who had enough clout to assemble such a 'Dream Team'.
But when he looked over, he saw the tall, elite warriors of Slaanesh, Nurgle, the Imperium, the Greenskins, and Khorne all standing respectfully to the side, bowing their heads to a Mortal who looked somewhat small amidst this group of 'monsters'.
A Mortal?!
The Pirate Prince even thought his eyes were playing tricks on him and blinked hard.
When he confirmed that the supreme leader of this force—which had two more elite factions, the Imperium and the Greenskins, following it than even Abaddon—was a Mortal, the Pirate Prince felt this scene was even more absurd than watching the 'Galactic Unification' beating up the Aeldari pirates.
'Pack up the supplies immediately; the fleet of Terra is almost here.'
'There's no need to interrogate this alien; just perform a soul-search.'
Sith ordered. The Thousand Sons Sorcerer immediately saluted Sith respectfully, then turned and walked toward the Pirate Prince, who was still staring at Sith in a daze.
He then extended his staff and, amidst the Pirate Prince's widening terror, extracted his soul.
As the battle ended, Sith began directing the Imperial Guardsmen to descend from orbit and start transporting the supplies these pirates had painstakingly plundered from everywhere.
Along with tens of thousands of human slaves from the massive slave pens.
During the bustle, the Thousand Sons Sorcerer strode out and stood behind Sith, bowing his head slightly:
'Abaddon left immediately after purchasing supplies here.'
'According to the Pirate Prince's memories, Abaddon seems to have headed toward The Great Maelstrom.'
'The frontline Chaos Warband of the Red Corsairs, led by Huron, is stationed there.'
Upon hearing this, Sith glanced at the Thousand Sons Sorcerer behind him, because Huron was the second most powerful Astartes traitor force outside the Eye of Terror.
He paid a little more attention. As Sith turned back to continue checking the supplies and the rescued personnel, he asked:
'Is there any information on the Warband that accepted Abaddon?'
The Thousand Sons Sorcerer nodded:
'Yes, it is a Warband that recently defected to Huron, called the "Black Skull".'
Sith froze instantly. Hearing the words 'Black Skull', he even slowly turned back to look at the Thousand Sons Sorcerer.
Confirming he hadn't misheard, he then, under the cautious and confused gaze of the Thousand Sons Sorcerer, couldn't help but... curl the corner of his mouth into a smile.
